INFALLIBLE BIBLE
CHRISTIANITY OASIS
HAS PROVIDED YOU WITH THIS INFALLIBLE BIBLE STUDY.
INFALLIBLE MEANS PERFECT AND WITHOUT ERROR. MOST PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE IS INFALLIBLE.
THAT THE BIBLE ITSELF IS PERFECT AND WITHOUT ERROR. LET US SEEK AND FIND THE TRUTH OF
THE BIBLE BEING INFALLIBLE TOGETHER, SHALL WE?
I WANT TO BEGIN
BY SAYING THAT I LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD AND I BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE IS THE
WORD OF GOD ... SO WHAT I WILL BE SHARING IS NOT INTENDED TO DO
ANYTHING BUT PROVIDE YOU WITH TRUTH.
Then why even have
this
study?
I share this TRUTH
... Because those of us who have studied scripture know that while
reading the Bible, we find something that is not in harmony with
something else that we read in the Bible. Think about it for a second
... Have you ever been reading your Bible, and found
that something didn’t exactly agree with something else that you remembered
reading. You scratch your head and ponder on it for a moment and then
you start feeling guilty for doubting God’s Word, so you put it out of
your mind. (Actually, you put it into your mind, but out of your
thoughts.) That little seed of doubt starts growing, and you never
know what it can cause. My friend. God cannot lie. God cannot
contradict Himself. God cannot be wrong. God is perfect.
I share this TRUTH
... Because we do not want to establish a habit of closing our eyes,
ears, mind and heart every time we see one of these lil contradictions
and/or potential errors because we fear our Faith is so fragile that
we cannot check the fruits and prove all things as we were taught to
do for fear that something like this could affect our Faith.
I share this TRUTH
... Because there are atheists out there that are going around using
Bible Scripture to prove that the Bible as being infallible theory as
... INCORRECT. They use TRUTH against new and unlearned
Christians by showing many scriptures that completely contradict other
scriptures.
I share this TRUTH
... Because the issue is bound to come up some day, whether it be
while you are alone one day reading your Bible or in a group
discussion. Wouldn’t you rather learn the TRUTH from a friend, rather
than be surprised or even shocked at the TRUTH later when you in a
group discussion or even worse when you are alone with only the enemy
of our souls sitting there next to you whispering in your ear these
thoughts of doubt?
I share this TRUTH
... Because if I do so, you can tell others the TRUTH, and PROVE it so
that they do not fall into this trap of the mind and heart set up by
our adversary.
What does infallible mean?
IT MEANS INCAPABLE OF ERROR.
Is the Word of God
...
As
He gave it to the authors of The Holy Bible, without question, 100%
infallible?
ABSOLUTELY !!!
BUT ...
TO ERR ... IS HUMAN
So where do people get the idea that
the Bible was infallible anyway?
The Apostle Paul wrote ...
|
2 TIMOTHY
3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration
of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness:
|
And yet in his letters to the Corinthians,
concerning specific matters, Paul makes it clear that he is giving
his own opinion and
not the commandment of the Lord.
|
1
CORINTHIANS 7:25
Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give
my
judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. |
|
2
CORINTHIANS 8:8
I speak not by commandment, but
by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity
of your love. |
Does Paul saying that the words that he shared are
HIS OWN opinions
and NOT the Word of God not punch holes in the infallible theory?
|
The Word of God is infallible.
BUT ...
To err is human
|
Ponder on this TRUTH ...
It was humans that wrote and translated the Bible many
times into various languages.
Obviously, these translations were performed by men
other than the original authors. So who were these translators then?
Were they all prophets of God? Were their native tongues Hebrew or
Greek? Did they make an A+ on their Language translation course?
The Word of God is infallible.
But my friend, man cannot translate infallibly.
I’d like to give you some examples to consider for
yourself.
Every language has words, and phrases that simply
lose something in the translation from one language to another.
You may write, for instance, “The Bible is a really
cool
book,” but in Swahili, there may not be a word for “cool”
as you meant it, so whoever translates your writing for the people in
the Congo may “revise” your words to read, “The Bible is a really cold
book.” Now the word “cold” has several different meanings:
low in temperature
uninteresting
unemotional
depressing
insulting
cheerless
dead
This means another translator could say ... The
Bible is a really
dead
book.
What about dialects? Dialects are different
expressions (like slang) used for the same word or phrase, within the
same language. For instance, the word “cool” has many other slang
relatives, like: hip, far out, happenin’, bad, tubular, radical, neat,
awesome, excellent, heavy, and the list goes on!
Now consider this. Does the manner of speaking in
any given language change from generation to generation? Would your
great-great-grand dad understand what you meant if he heard you say,
The Bible is a really “bad” book?
Okay, now let’s figure out something. When were the books of Moses
(Genesis through Deuteronomy) written? Well, Moses lived more than
1500 years BEFORE JESUS, so that’s at least 3500 years ago. How many
generations would you say that is? Do you suppose that Bible
translations, not only from one language to another, but from one
generation to another over the last 3500 years have kept the original
Word of God, word for word, intact?
There are many different “versions” of the Bible
around today. One of the oldest translations is the King James
Version, originally published in 1611, so you’ll find that it is
written with the distinct Medieval language of that time. But there
are also Bibles which instead of striving to translate as closely as
possible to the original Hebrew and Greek languages, cater to the more
modern English language. I’ve seen some “scriptures” from some of
these versions that are very eyebrow lifting.
Let me state clearly yet again that man, who is not
perfect, has decided in many cases and in their own discretion while
translating, what the Ancients and the Prophets and the Apostles
INTENDED to say in specific passages and that there are some things in the
Bible that aren’t a perfect translation of the messages that God sent.
The word "revised"
means to correct and/or improve. Yet every Bible you read has the word
"Revised" ... The Word of God doesn’t need any
correction or improvement. It’s impossible to ever correct or improve
anything about God. So why did the translators find it necessary to
write the word "revised"? Because in translation, there is always some meaning that is lost
or is simply impossible to duplicate from one language to another.
You can see how the misinterpretation of one single
word, changed your good intention to be just the opposite of what you
meant.
Now we are certainly going to assume that these
translators did the very best they could and for the most part ...
Have accurately translated the Bible.
However ...
|
The Word of God is infallible.
BUT ...
To err is human
|
But it’s the WORD OF GOD!
He meant it to be PERFECT!
Yes, I’m certain that He did, but have you added in
the ENEMY factor? There is even an ominous warning to people about
changing the Words in the Book of Revelation.
|
REVELATION
22:18-19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of
this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto
him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall
take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take
away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and
from the things which are written in this book
|
God certainly intended for Adam
and Eve to be perfect. In fact, men were created to the intent that they should continue pure and righteous,
and death, which destroys everything, could not have taken hold of
them, but then … they sinned. You don’t have to defend God’s
perfection. God is PERFECT.
|
MATTHEW 5:48
Be ye therefore perfect, even as
your Father which is in Heaven is
perfect
|
GOD IS PERFECT
BUT ... Humans are
NOT
PONDER ON THIS ...
Ever played the game or been involved in gossip where someone whispers
something to someone, and they whisper it to the next person, and it’s
whispered from one person to the next all the way to where it comes
back to you? You
know exactly what I’m talking about, don’t you? By the time it reaches
you the story has changed considerable.
This Word of mouth method was how the Word of God
was spread. From one person to another to another. The story may have
changed a lil as the story was repeated. Some things were left out.
some things changed a lil and maybe some was even added.
LOOK AT THE GOSPELS
Four accounts of the life, death
and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You must keep in mind while reading the Gospels of
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John that there are four different
people telling the stories of Jesus. As you can imagine, when
any story is shared with others, by 4 different people, as it was with
these four people, the story is the same as a whole, but is shared from different
viewpoints and certain things that touched one may not have been
mentioned by the other. Not to mention that two of these individuals were not actually
there for much of it (Mark and Luke) but these two were told of the
events BY OTHERS and they shared it with us second hand, so to speak. Matthew
and John were both there with Jesus, but are two different manner of
souls. Matthew was a tax collector before Jesus chose him as an
Apostle, so you can imagine his account would be very detailed and by
the book. John on the other hand was a spiritual soul and was known as the beloved.
This gives us the impression that he was gentle and emotional. He was
younger and seemed more passionate about sharing the LOVING aspect of
Jesus with us.
DIFFERENCES AND CONTRADICTIONS
Now, the Word of God is infallible, as I said, which
means it is incapable of error, so if we find even one discrepancy in
the Bible, that would mean, THE Bible is NOT infallible due to the
various reasons we have explored.
Get out a pencil and paper, and compare the
bloodline of Jesus according to Matthew:
To the Bloodline according to Luke:
Notice anything? This isn’t just a matter of misspelled names, there
seems to be quite a difference from one account to the other.
QUICK NOTE
Speaking of misspelled names, did you know that
Jesus’ name wasn’t really Jesus? It was Yeshua. But I’ve even seen our
Lord’s translated name misspelled in some Bibles. No kidding. It was
spelled ... Jebus and Jeus. I guess the translators of that one needed
to get it to press in a hurry so they could collect their $13.99 a
copy.
BACK TO DIFFERENCES AND CONTRADICTIONS
|
LUKE 6:20
Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the
kingdom of God.
MATTHEW 5:3
Blessed are the poor
in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of God.
The difference is those who have no money or those
who have no spirit.
Was the words "in spirit" added or forgotten?

NOT A BIG DEAL THOUGH

What became of Judas and the 30 pieces of silver?
MATTHEW SAYS ...
MATTHEW
27:5-7
And he cast down the pieces of
silver in the temple, and
departed, and went and hanged himself.
And the chief priests took the silver
pieces, and said, It is not
lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of
blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the
potter's field, to bury
strangers in.
BUT, PETER SAYS ...
ACTS 1:15-19
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and
said concerning Judas ... He was
numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now
this man purchased a field with the
reward of iniquity; (30 PIECES OF SILVER)
and falling headlong, he burst
asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was
known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is
called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of
blood.
QUESTIONS
Did Judas cast the money down in the Temple or not?
Did Judas purchase the field or did the Religious leaders?
Did Judas hang himself or fall and burst open and his bowls gushed
out?
IMMEDIATELY WE SEEK TO PROVE THE BIBLE CORRECT.
POSSIBLE ANSWERS
Maybe Judas DID cast the money down and the
statement of Peter this man
purchased a field with the reward of iniquity;
does not mean that Judas purchased the field but "some man" purchased
the field which is in harmony with what Matthew said.
It is possible that
falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels
gushed out could very well describe the RESULTS of being hung.
Falling headlong could mean he
hung himself and he burst asunder in
the midst, and all his bowels gushed out could mean that he
defecated on himself which is a common occurrence when you are hung.

YEAH, THAT can be explained away pretty easy.

What about at the tomb of Jesus ...
MATTHEW
28:1-7
In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to
dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the
other Mary to see the sepulchre.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the Angel of
the Lord descended from Heaven, and came and rolled back the
stone from the door,
and sat upon it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And
for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
And the angel answered
and said unto the women, Fear
not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not
here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord
lay. And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the
dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye
see Him: lo, I have told you.
MARK 16:5-7
And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of
James,
and Salome, had bought sweet
spices, that they might come and anoint Him. And very early in the
morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the
rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us
away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked,
they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
And entering into the sepulchre,
they saw
a young man
sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they
were affrighted. And he saith unto them,
Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He
is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him. But go
your way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goeth before you into
Galilee: there shall ye see Him, as He said unto you.
LUKE 24:4-7
Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they
came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared,
and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away
from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the
Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much
perplexed thereabout, behold,
two men
stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed
down their faces to the earth, they said unto them,
Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen:
remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee, Saying, The
Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be
crucified, and the third day rise again.
JOHN 20:11-13
The first day of the week cometh
Mary Magdalene
early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone
taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon
Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto
them, They have taken away the LORD out of the sepulchre, and we know
not where they have laid Him. Peter therefore went forth, and that
other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. So they ran both together:
and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the
sepulchre. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes
lying; yet went he not in. Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and
went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the
napkin, that was about His head, not lying with the linen clothes, but
wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other
disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that He must rise again from
the dead. Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. But
Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she
stooped down, and
looked into the sepulchre, And
seeth two angels in white sitting,
the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of
Jesus had lain. And they say unto her,
Woman, why weepest thou?
She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my LORD, and I know
not where they have laid Him. And when she had thus said, she turned
herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She,
supposing Him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have
borne Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him
away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto
Him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me
not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren,
and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my
God, and your God.
QUESTIONS
Was Salome there or not?
Was there and earthquake or not?
Did they enter the tomb or not?
was it the Lord or an angel?
Were there one or two angels?
What did he or they actually tell the women?
Did God have a difference of opinion or did man?
ANSWER
We could try and explain away each difference but the TRUTH is ...
It was simply four versions of the same story
repeated many times before it was written by four different men
that were NOT there.

When was Jesus crucified?
MARK 15:25
And it was
the third hour,
and they crucified Him.
JOHN
19:14-17
And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the
sixth hour:
and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King! But they cried
out, Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him. Pilate saith
unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests
answered, We have no king but Caesar. Then delivered he Him
therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and
led Him away. And He bearing His Cross went forth into a place
called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew
Golgotha:
QUESTION
Was it the
3rd or 6th hour that Jesus was Crucified?
ANSWER
It matters
lil at WHAT hour He was crucified, but rather ...
WHAT He died for.
OUR SINS

The Word of God is infallible.
BUT ...
To err is human
|
I could go on and on as there are MANY of these lil
differences and contradictions but that is NOT the purpose of this
study. I have only used scripture that could be explained away as I
seek not to cause doubt but rather seek to make you aware of the
TRUTH.
There are those who have created websites JUST to
point out the errors in the Bible. Many are Christian organizations.
Others have a more sinister intent. IF
you would like to further explore this topic as to be prepared for the
enemy and those he will send to try and disprove the Word of God and
deem it ALL as a lie, you can type in "Bible Contradictions" in your search browser.
However ... The lil errors made by man OVER THE MILLENNIUMS that are
being pointing out on these various websites are as NOTHING compared
to the EVIDENCE of fulfilled prophecy.
MAKE NO MISTAKE ...
I SEEK NOT TO PROVE THE BIBLE AS BEING UNTRUE AS I
LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD WHICH IS WITHIN THE BIBLE. BUT ... THERE ARE
ERRORS WITHIN AS WELL MADE BY MAN.
I have researched this completely using and
comparing ancient and modern day scripture and have found that there
are NO contradictions that actually affect the overall TRUTH. In
particular the King James version. I have found it to be the closest
version of the original TRUTH. I mean think about it ... Any copy of
an original loses something in the transfer. My friend, if you had the original tables of stone
that Moses brought down from the Mountain of God with the laws written
on them, you could say that those are infallible. If you had the
original scrolls and letters that make up the rest of the Holy Bible
in front of you, I’d have to say, they are as close to infallible as
you can get, but mankind wrote them, second hand from God, Jesus, and
the Holy Spirit, so the human element alone, gives them fallibility.
Imagine with all of these new translations of the Bible by those
seeking to make a dollar.
Have you ever written anything (or typed anything) as long as a book
of the Bible? Probably not. But what about just short letters to
friends? How many mistakes did you make? Even though you checked lie
three times. I will tell you the TRUTH ... Even when you feel inspired by the Holy
Spirit and you’re writing, or typing, you still make errors. Reason is
simple ... Man is
not only capable of errors but oft times prone to it ...
I am certain I may have made typos and/or grammar errors sharing this
TRUTH with you today but it does not take from the SPIRIT of the
TRUTH.
Please don’t misunderstand. I’m not denying the Divine Inspiration of
the Bible or the translators of it. It is, the only account that we have of
God’s Word. I know how badly you want it to be infallible and it may
be irritating to some that it’s not perfect, especially for those of us who strive for
perfection in serving God, but we must remember it’s the Spirit of the
Word, not the letter, that counts.
|
ROMANS 7:6
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were
held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the
oldness of the letter. |
|
2
CORINTHIANS 3:6
Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the
letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit
giveth life. |
So when you’re reading through the Bible, and you
come across something that seems contrary to something else you’ve
read, you can now tell yourself the TRUTH as to why there may be a lil
difference or contradiction in the Bible. Different authors, different opinions,
different languages, different translators, different generations,
different versions ... Whew!
Or when someone challenges your Christianity with
one of satan’s favorites:
The Bible ain’t perfect, y’know!
You can look them square in the eye, and confidently say:
It sure ain’t!
But the Word of God is!!!
You can react without fear
now and know in your mind and heart that this TRUTH does NOT dispute
the TRUTH that God is PERFECT and God's Word is PERFECT ... But rather
simply explains this TRUTH ...
To err is HUMAN
