ONE SIZE FITS ALL?
Every body is different. Have you
ever bought something that suggests that it is "one size
fits all" ...
There are VERY few things in life that can make such a
claim. But if and when we do find something that does fall
into the "One size fits all" category ... It is usually
something that ADAPTS and CONFORMS as to be able to fit each
individual.
Did you
know that the same LAW applies to God's Law?
Allow me to elaborate a lil on this.
In the
Bible, our Lord was tempted yet again by the Pharisees when
they asked Him a question about the LAW...

Matthew 19:3
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and
saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away
his wife for EVERY cause? |
Jesus Answered them ...
|
Matthew 19:4-6
Have ye not read, that he which made them at the
beginning made them male and female, And said, For
this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and
shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one
flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one
flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let
not man put asunder. |
The
Pharisees questioned His response ...

Matthew 19:7
Why did Moses then command to give a writing of
divorcement, and to put her away? |
Jesus
responded ...
|
Matthew 19:8-9
Moses
because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to
put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not
so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his
wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry
another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her
which is put away doth commit adultery.

This
caused concern with His disciples and they said to Jesus:
|
Matthew 19:10
If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not
good to marry. |
Then Jesus said something
that we all need to HEAR and UNDERSTAND ...
|
Matthew 19:11
All men cannot
receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. |
In other words ... All Laws
do not apply to all people, all of the time.
THE LAW
IS NOT, WAS NOT AND CAN NOT EVER BE ...
"ONE SIZE FITS ALL"
UNLESS IT CAN ADAPT
AND CONFORM TO A VARIETY OF SITUATIONS.
Many times we find ourselves judging others and even
ourselves because we think that God's Law is still written
in stone, but don't forget what God said:

Jeremiah 31:33-34
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with
the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD,
I will put my
law in their inward parts, and write it in their
hearts; and will
be their God, and they shall be my people. And they
shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every
man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall
all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest
of them, saith the LORD:
for I will forgive
their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. |
HEYYYYYY it
said the covenant was made with the House of Israel !!! If
you're one of those who is intent that this doesn't apply to
you if you're not of Jewish descent, I'll remind you of the
TRUTH that Paul taught us ...

Galatians 3:26-29
For ye are all the children of God by Faith in Christ
Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into
Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor
Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is
neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ
Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's
seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God
confirmed this promise in the
NEW COVENANT
|
Hebrews 8:6-8
But now hath He (Jesus)
obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He (Jesus)
is the mediator of a
better covenant, which was
established upon better
promises.
For if that first covenant had
been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the
second.
For finding fault with them, He saith, Behold, the days come,
saith the Lord, when I will make a NEW COVENANT
with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

GOD WILL
NOW PUT THE LAW WITHIN OUR HEARTS IN HIS TIME.
If you're a parent of more than one child, you may
understand this concept a lil better if you compare this to
your OWN children just as God does with each of His
children.
You
certainly don't expect the exact same things of each of your
children that you do from another of your children, because
you understand that they are unique, each having their own
separate personalities and what may be right for one, may
not 'fit' the other's needs. They may be different ages,
genders, temperaments, etc., so obviously ALL the same rules
do not apply to all of the children, all of the time.
If you're
not a parent, you may understand it easier if you compare it
to your friends. You know that they're all different ...
Some are more emotional, some are more creative, some are
more outspoken, some are more private, some get mad if you
don't call them frequently, some are satisfied with a call
every so often, some are weak, some are strong, some are
ambitious, some are more laid back, etc., etc., etc.,
You treat
each one a lil diff than the other, but you still love them
all.
STILL NOT
SURE ... CHECK THIS OUT.
God created
the 10 Commandments and gave them to mankind on tablets of
stone.
One of those top 10 laws was:
Thou
shalt not kill.
HOWEVER ...
God commanded king Saul to kill all of the Amelekites, and
because king Saul didn't do it, the Lord took his anointing
away.

I
SAMUEL 15:16-28
Then Samuel said
unto Saul, Stay, and
I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night.
And he said unto him, Say on. And Samuel said, When thou
wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the
head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee
king over Israel? And the
LORD sent thee on a
journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the
Amalekites, and
fight against them until they be consumed.
Wherefore then didst thou
not obey the voice of the LORD,
but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight
of the LORD? And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed
the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the
LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek,
and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people
took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things
which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice
unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. And Samuel said, Hath the
LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better
than sacrifice, and
to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the
sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and
idolatry. Because
thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also
rejected thee from being king.
And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have
transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words:
because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. Now
therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with
me, that I may worship the LORD. And Samuel said unto
Saul, I will not
return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the
LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over
Israel. And as
Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the
skirt of his mantle, and it rent. And Samuel said unto
him, The LORD hath
rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath
given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. |
Note: God
gave both commandments, which are totally CONTRARY to one
another.
It
definitely was not a "ONE SIZE FITS ALL" commandment.
It was a unique situation, and all Laws do not apply to all
things.
Just as Jesus said ...

Matthew 19:11
All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom
it is given. |
AGAIN ...
The Old Covenant LAW said ... An eye for an eye.
|
Leviticus 24:19-20
And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbor; as he hath done,
so shall it be done to him; Breach for breach, eye for eye,
tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall
it be done to him again. |
HOWEVER ... Jesus DEFINED the LAW.

Matthew
5:38-39
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a
tooth for a tooth: But
I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall
smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. |
Jesus did not change the law but rather gave us the SPIRITUAL meaning.
Don't
assume that Jesus meant that you can use this as an excuse
to do whatever you want. You are responsible for what you
know applies to you. And Jesus gave us the gift of
discernment by way of the Holy Spirit to guide us in TRUTH.
It isn't
that the Law is done away with in the sense that it should
not be followed. God forbid. Paul explains throughout many
of his Epistles that this isn't the case.
Here's a
good rule of thumb:

Luke 12:48
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be
much required: and to whom men have committed much, of
him they will ask the more. |
MORE IS
EXPECTED OF THOSE WHO KNOW MORE.
This not
only goes for material things, but understanding, Faith,
discernment, Love ... all those good spiritual gifts that
the Lord bestows on us.

Luke 7:36-50
And one of the Pharisees desired Him that He would eat
with him. And He went into the Pharisee's house, and
sat down to meat. And, behold, a woman in the city,
which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at
meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box
of ointment, And stood at His feet behind Him weeping,
and began to wash His feet with tears, and did wipe
them with the hairs of her head, and kissed His feet,
and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the
Pharisee which had bidden Him saw it, he spake within
himself, saying, This man, if he were a Prophet, would
have known who and what manner of woman this is that
toucheth Him: for she is a sinner. And Jesus answering
said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto
thee. And he saith, Master, say on. There was a
certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed
five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they
had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell
me therefore, which of them will love him most? Simon
answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he
forgave most. And He said unto him, Thou hast rightly
judged. And He turned to the woman, and said unto
Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine
house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she
hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with
the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but
this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to
kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint:
but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many,
are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little
is forgiven, the same loveth little. And He said unto
her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat
with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this
that forgiveth sins also? And He said to the woman,
Thy Faith hath saved thee; go in peace. |
As sinners
and Christians, we must be careful not to judge others for
their sins ... or how they discern the Law of the Lord for
their own life. God is the only Judge:

Matthew 20:1-16
For the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a man that is
an householder, which went out early in the morning to
hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had
agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent
them into his vineyard. And he went out about the
third hour, and saw others standing idle in the
marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the
vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And
they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth
and ninth hour, and did likewise.
And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found
others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand
ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because
no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also
into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall
ye receive. So when even was come, the lord of the
vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers,
and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto
the first. And when they came that were hired about
the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
But when the first came, they supposed that they
should have received more; and they likewise received
every man a penny. And when they had received it, they
murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying,
These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast
made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden
and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and
said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree
with me for a penny? Take that thine is, and go thy
way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is
it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?
Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last
shall be first, and the first last: for many be
called, but few chosen. |
Every
person is unique, and only you can decide what God requires
of you, how His Law applies to your life, and how wide you
will open your heart to His Law. If you've judged another or
yourself without considering that we are each "custom made"
by our Creator, and that "one size fits all" is for Grace,
not Law ... you learn something new every day. Today your
light is shining even brighter, and you can carry on,
serving the Lord even better than yesterday.

Isaiah 51:7
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the
people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the
reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their
revilings. |
I have heard some say
Whether a man
steals a loaf of bread to prove he could do so OR if
another man stole a loaf of bread to feed his starving
child after asking for it and was told no
That God considers BOTH a thief.
That a law is a law
.
I tell you a TRUTH my friends. I am SO
glad those people aint my judge. Myself
I believe that
at Judgment Day, our Father will ask the Bread shop
owner why he did not share a piece of bread with the
poor mans child.
No my friends
God judges the HEART of
every matter in a fair and balanced SPIRITUAL manner.
Just read what Jesus has shared in the
Gospels and you will know this to be TRUTH.
SO THE NEXT TIME
SOMEONE TRIES TO USE LAW TO JUDGE SOMETHING YOU SAY OR DO
...
IF THE SHOE FITS ...
SLAP THAT RASCAL ON CINDERELLA.
BUT, IF IT DOES NOT.
DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE
TO MAKE YOU
WEAR IT.
TAKE IT TO THE ONLY
