What does spiders mean?

When dreaming or having a nightmare on spiders what does that mean?

Had dream earlier, in the dream i was in this place spiders and spider webs were all over and i had this broom knocking them down and then this huge spider the size of a golf ball dropped down on my neck mad with me. I woke up cause it felt it it actually fell on my neck and i jump out of bed checking my neck and hair and all over the bed.

So relieved it was only a dream. I'm pretty sure what this is but this isn't the first time having dreams of spiders. They're always different never the same dream, but in them dreams i'm always fighting spiders.

The Spider in the Bible:

Proverbs 30

24 "Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise:

25 Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer;

26 Coneys are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags;

27 locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks;

28 a spider can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings' palaces.

In my "Arabic" Bible, the verse 24 says:" the smallest"; this adjective is modified in the modern English version to "small".

However, there are thousands of creatures that are smaller than the Ants, Coneys, locusts and a spider and are wise also as for examples the microbes, protozoa and fungi.

Also, why the spider is found in the kings' places specifically?

Again, why the locusts have no king although they have?

Job 8

13 Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so perishes the hope of the godless.

14 What he trusts in is fragile; what he relies on is a spider's web.

In this verse, the trust of the hypocrite is compared to the spider's web or house. This meaning is a beautiful one.

Isaiah 59:5-6

Talking about those who are unjust and lie etc.

5 They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin a spider's web. Whoever eats their eggs will die, and when one is broken, an adder is hatched.

6 Their cobwebs are useless for clothing; they cannot cover themselves with what they make. Their deeds are evil deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands.

Isaiah describes the wicked as those which "weave the spider's web" their works and designs are, like the spider's web, vain and useless.

Hope this helps angel!

Hello Angeltears *hug*

God bless you this day.

I want to ask if you have a fear or a real aversion to spiders?

The reason I ask, is because I do. They freak me out. For the last couple of summers they've been really bad -- seems that every night I would have to kill one or two -- to the point I was always looking for them. Because they were on my mind so much, I started having dreams about them too.

Once the weather turns cold I seldom see one; however, if I were to start dreaming about them again, the spider(s) might represent something that is either frightening to me, or perhaps something that I have a great dislike for and want eliminated from my house (a.k.a. evil) -- a spiritual warfare type of thing.

The Lord is Good and will give you the answer that you seek.

God bless you, Angeltears.

Thank you Jill and Mack for those replies. You both got me thinking.

Jill not sure why i didn't think about looking up spiders in Scripture. You['ve got me thinking on these verses now and the questions. Interesting isn't it.

Mack it all depends what you called fear? lol Let's see i don;t fear them if i see one i just squash it. If one gets on me then i may jump out of my skin. lol

Mack you said....

Thats pretty much where my thoughts were on this. Wasn't sure though the spiders itself if possibly a meaning.

Thank you both for considering this.
