John refers to himself in the Book of John as the one whom Jesus loved.

Elisha went to the Jordan with his servants and they cut wood. One of the servants axe heads fell into the water. What did Elisha do when the man cried out that it was borrowed?

he said "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee". Oh wait, that was Cassius Clay/Mohammad Ali.

*BigGrin*

Elisha asked where it fell into the water, then he cast a stick into the water (in the general area) and suddenly the axe head started to float. Elisha then told the man to grab it, and he did.

(Read about it, *ReadBible* : II Kings 6:1-7)

rofl Mack you absolutely make me laugh out loud!

They are one and the same, both refer to the third person of the Trinity, Father(God); Son(Jesus) Holy Ghost(Holy Spirit)

An Angel of The Lord loosed Peter's chains and opened the doors while the soldiers who were guarding him slept.

Most scholars believe it was Luke who wrote the book of Acts.

What was Aquila's wife's name? Who's helpers were they in Christ Jesus?

Aquila's wife's name was Priscilla, and they joined the Apostle Paul, and others, in the work of The Lord.

Read all about it in Acts chapter 18, plus a few other mentions in Romans, I Corinthians and II Timothy.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God told Jonah to go to Nineveh.

Is it just me, or does the word Nineveh sound like the name of a place in a Disney movie?

John the Baptist said: Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

What did he mean by that?

John The Baptist was speaking of Jesus Christ -- saying Jesus would baptize His followers with The Holy Spirit, Who is often represented by Fire within The Bible: tongues of fire in Acts is but one example. Those who have the indwelling and baptism of The Holy Spirit are being changed from the inside out by the work of The Holy Spirit, Who is purging out, or burning off, the chaff...sin, so to speak, and purifying us. Similar to the process of burning off the dross out of gold or silver via the refiner's fire.

God is so very Good!!!

Timothy! She was a Godly woman also.

What did Jesus write in the sand when the Scribes and the Pharisees brought unto him a woman of adultery?

Yeah! Yes, Timothy's grandmother's name was Lois, and The Bible says she was a faithful servant of God. (See II Timothy 1:5)

We are not told what Jesus wrote in the sand (John 8:1-11), but it sure is cool to think about that. Perhaps He was listening to what God The Father was saying to Him, or perhaps He was just was waiting for everyone present to give Him their full attention, or...
