In My Dream

I was walking along in a strange place.
A time not of this world or race.
I seen places and buildings I had never seen.
I my self was dirty and not clean.
There was no one I knew in this land
Except this one, I was sure I knew this man.
This man did not wear fancy clothes.
From his face I could see all the woes.
He was buckled down from carrying his load.
I knew no one could undo his hands from their hold.
I reached out to touch him to see if he was alright.
When he looked at me oh what a horrible sight.
He wore a crown of thorns upon his head.
I knew this cross would soon send him to his bed.
All those around him just laughed and scorned. Hair was soaked in blood stained the robe that he had worn.
My heart ached and tears filled my eyes.
The longer I looked at him, higher my heart would rise.
What awful thing had befallen this Jew.
He turned and looked at me and said YOU.
Right there in that dirty street he forgave my sins.
Now life eternal is the reward that I shall win.
