Day 1 - Starting a journal

Postby Jewels72 » Sat Sep 22, 2012 3:39 am

So, I am feeling apprehensive on starting a journal. I am feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes I have a difficult time finding words to my feelings. At some point in my life, I started thinking that maybe I wasn't saved because I keep on sinning. Up until recently, I had been struggling with that question for a very long time. After finding this site, I feel so much better. I now believe that I am saved. No, not perfect and I stumble and still sin, but I get back up and try again. Which after finding this site, I found that we all struggle with sin and get back up and try again. I am excited to build a relationship/friendship with the Holy Spirit. I have neglected Him for too long. Not that I didn't want a relationship/friendship with Him. I was afraid. Fear kept me from getting to know Him. This is no longer the case. I am excited for day # 2 and what it holds. I still feel a little uneasy writing a journal, but will do it because I know that it is beneficial in my spiritual growth.

You should keep your identity private on this site.If you make close friends of long duration, then maybe you might want to communicate on a free email - maybe one without your real name in it at all. This allows you more freedom in talking in your journal.

Also, you should probably keep a Word document on your computer. You could write there first, and then copy what you want into the online journal. it helps to be able to just write and write and write - and then go back and read and you will see things you didn't know. But you don't want all that volume posted on the site.

God bless you. I am sure you will find many things about yourself. It really does help to let other people validate you and ask you questions.
Hugs,
Dema

Dema,
Thank you for your advice. Are you saying that my identity isn't private? I didn't know that I put anything on here that reveals my identity.
Hugs back to you,

HUH ?

I am not getting it either . "private" ? .. as in behind the scenes ... secretive ? ... whispering ?

One thig I should not fear at all is to talk and express however it is that I feel about my relation with the Holy Spirit , good OR "bad" .

Besides the fact that you may get advice (though my be well intentioned) but , however , advice that is based on fear from skeptical individuals is no advice at all .

No one here is to throw judgements at you , nor , if they do , will be here long .

ANYTHING we do for the our Spiritual growth , should not be hindered by ANYTHING , specially FEAR , wether it be instilled by others or ourselves .

Luv ya
In Christ , our Lord

I meant to be wise and not foolish. Don't say, I am a freshman at Owl University majoring in the behavior of ants and I live on the third floor of Nevermore Hall. I graduated from Beeverfill Highschool last year. I have red hair and one blue eye and one green eye. And I have been painting the side of the car wash with horse dung every time I get depressed. My father is the sheriff so that really makes it a super cool rebellion. He really doesn't have a clue.

I have gone back through and edited out personal specifics in other people's posts. So not everyone in the world is as savvy as Vahn.

No biggy. Apparently you guys thought this was obvious. Cool.
