The Advance of the Gospel

Hello Everyone :)

God bless you this day.

There are lots of things going on all over the world that has most of us, who Believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour and await His return, wondering "is this yet another sign of the End Times?" It is good to be vigilant and to watch, and to speak our thoughts to The Lord in prayer. I also recognize that sometimes I can get so caught up in one aspect of an event that I miss the full picture. The Lord is Good to point this out, and to direct me to take a step back and look again, with a wider lens.

With all the natural disasters, the pandemic and the ever-growing divisions -- as sad as they may be, on many levels...

The Gospel is being advanced.

Nearly every day, I hear or read about how a person, place, thing or an event is being equated to God's Word. Whether or not I agree with what is being said, God's Word is being advanced. The Holy Spirit was quick to remind me of a passage of God's Bless Word in Philippians:

Philippians 1:12-18 (English Standard Version)

12 I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, 13 so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

15 Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. 16 The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.

Amen
