I wonder if...

Hello Everyone,

God bless you this day.

I occasionally wonder about the time before Jesus' death and resurrection if the 11 Apostles wondered why Judas was one of them -- the 12th Apostle. You know? Didn't they see how he was, and wouldn't they have wondered why in the world Jesus allowed him to hang with Him? I admit, I know I would have wondered. In fact, I probably would have asked Jesus directly, because I find I do that now. No, I don't ask him about Judas, but I ask Jesus about many others that are alive today -- especially those that claim to belong to Him, but they and I just do not see things the same.

Perhaps that is why The Lord gave us His Blessed Word and the indwelling of The Holy Spirit so when we did ask Him directly, we would be reminded through His Word what the answer is.

For example:

Luke 18:10-14 (New English Translation)

10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people: extortionists, unrighteous people, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’ 13 The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!’ 14 I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Luke 9:46 (King James Version)
Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

Luke 22:23-24 (King James Version)
23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

Well, I think that is clear enough. In my mind, if they were arguing who was best, they were probably insinuating others were worse. And, from Jesus' reply to them, He makes it clear if I get caught up in that type of thinking and wondering, I need an attitude adjustment, and Praise The Lord, a blessed humbling is good for what ails me.

God is so very Good!

God bless you, all.
Mack
