Day 5 of Christian counseling.

This forum is a place where those who feel called by the Lord are able to post about any trials or victories they are going through as they serve the Lord by reaching and teaching His children. You can post and then lock your thread so no one can reply, if you so choose. Think of it as your own personal diary or journal that you choose to share with others who are called as to share ideas, experiences and tips as they too serve the Lord.

Day 5 of Christian counseling.

Postby Mandy1378 » Tue Mar 24, 2020 6:27 pm

Working on the 14 day christian counseling program, I'm really not looking to keep a journal, so I hope its still ok to post here. I've have gone through day five now. Should have finished day 6, but then I've been really business and on day 4 I sort of fell asleep. Had to go back and redo it. Sort of felt like the young guy who fell asleep and fell out of the window when Paul was preaching. It was a good thing I wasn't seating in the window when I fell asleep. It had been a very long day.

Day 5 starts out speaking about blame, and I had to stop and think about that. A couple of years ago I went through a divorce. My husband was mixed into drinking and drugs and eventually cheated on me. At first I blamed only him, later I begin blaming myself and only me. I knew he drank and did a little drugs when we first got married, It wasn't that bad and I thought that would change after we were married. It didn't change.

Today I'm in a relationship and its good, to me compared to my ex, he's an angel. Problem is, he's ready to make a bigger commitment and I'm not. It scares me, i'm far from being ready for that. I'm not really the kind of person that likes to get to settled. Know also that after going through my last serious relationship ended badly, so its not a mistake I ever want to make again.

Also my manager came to me with a possible promotion at work, there's a catch though, I'll have to move again, this time to another state where I don't know anyone. I've been offered a management position in a clothing department. They are now waiting for an answer from me. This means a promotion and better pay. I'm 48 years old and to me this is a great opportunity. Something I have been working toward. I'm feeling as if I'm at a crossroads.

Hello Mandy1378 *coffee10*

God bless you this day.

It is just fine that you posted here. What better journal than to reflect upon your journey with The Lord?

Don't you love how God's Word has us stop and think? I love how He works. God is so very Good!

Keep up the good work. Your effort is sweet and His blessings abound.

God bless and keep you,
Mack

God speaks in a still small voice. Get quiet with God and just sit. Read a scripture or sing a song or look at something beautiful or give thanks and sit more. Repeat. Repeat often. Generally, I have found that the answer doesn't come like a lightning bolt - instead, one of those times of just sitting, I know. My heart is peaceful and I just know. And I don't know when I began knowing.

PS - I think you may already just know, but you feel the need to please others and to not hurt people. If you get into a relationship with resentment, then it will likely lead to a lot of unhappiness. Not wanting to hurt someone at this moment may cause more hurt than just facing it now. Sometimes the moment rules, when the lifetime should be the consideration. *hug5*
Hugs,
Dema

Hello Mandy1378 :)

God bless you this day.

I am just checking in to see how you are doing, and to ask if you have completed the Counseling Study?

I hope you found it helpful in your search to find the Truth in Christ, and how to begin to apply His Word to your every experience throughout this life. This journey with Christ is one of great wonders and revelations. God is so very Good.

There is a whole library of studies on this site. Some take only minutes to read, while others can take days to digest. All the studies lean heavily on the written Word of God...The Bible, and I have found them to be such a blessing in my life and walk with The Lord.

Here is a link to some of the studies: http://www.christianityoasis.com/Keywor ... tudies.htm

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to share them.

God bless and keep you,
Mack
