His calling...my journey to walk worthy

This forum is a place where those who feel called by the Lord are able to post about any trials or victories they are going through as they serve the Lord by reaching and teaching His children. You can post and then lock your thread so no one can reply, if you so choose. Think of it as your own personal diary or journal that you choose to share with others who are called as to share ideas, experiences and tips as they too serve the Lord.

His calling...my journey to walk worthy

Postby mlg » Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:23 am

This begins a record of my journey to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith I am called....as Paul beseeched in Ephesians 4:1

Today I awoke feeling a bit better. My cup is still only about half full...but I'm getting up...and a free told me yesterday that it's all about getting up time and time again.

When the battle rages...it makes me wonder why God needs to strengthen me. The pain gets worse with each new battle. The fight becomes more difficult.

Going to church this morning...time to sit in God's Spirit and refresh. A much needed refreshment.

Yes! *ohyeah* I am certain Jesus is smiling cause you made me smile.

:)

It gets worse? Terrific! lol Guess that means you are getting stronger. That's a cool thought. To be stronger in our Lord for His service.

Wonder when it's all said and done, and you stand before him, and he hushes all of heaven, even the angels, what words of praise he'll say over you. Even over the most glorious sound of the angels he'll take a moment to say to you his child the words he has on his heart for you, his dearly loved child.

An amazing thought.

Have a wonderful time at church.

As I was sitting this morning in church listening...the preacher said God knows us by name and calls us by name...imagine that...God truly knows who I am...out of all the people in the world He has created individually...He knows each and everyone of us..and to think we just know the names of a few people...and He knows them all...a place for each of us. :)

The preacher says tonight's sermon is on finishing the race strong. He said do you ever stumble so much and fall so much that you just find yourself sitting down and not wanting to get up?...I'm thinking tonight's sermon will be just for me.

Tough it is not my intent to drag this into the political arena , but rather as example to one question you asked mlg , and it is a question we all ask over and over again , so don't feel bad .

In recent U.S. history , it declared war against a cause that thought would be a cut-n-dry , just go in and git'erdone deal , right ? Well , needless to say , that did not end up being the case . Many agonizing years and many more broken promises , hearts and lives later we decide to withdraw . The operative word being "withdraw" , a lot think it as "loss" , I myself disagree with the latter opinion .
Many years later , a similar situation arises yet from another front and different intentions and causes , and we find ourselves in the same situation , and , once again , majority opinion says , "it's like the last one" and others still hollered "giterdone" ! So know we end up with two issues instead of one (getting harder ?)

Here's the deal The United States of America is STILL the Greatest , the Strongest Nation on this planet of ours ! Would you like to know why ?
#1) It says , we fight we have a chance of staying up - we don't fight we will surely perish !
#2) From learning from the past "experience" , we said no , this will not be a cut-n-dry "git'erdone" deal , but we will do whatever it takes to secure our position and status .

On the Spiritual front , our Lord asked us to pray in this manner , "Thy Kingdom , the way You have it in Heaven , Let it be here on earth likewise" There's war "Up There" , there're wars down here , and there's war in each of us individually , God may appear to be "withdrawing" , so should we , God will always remain the Greatest , so will we . As long as we keep on fighting we have a chance of staying in an upright position , no matter how tired we get , we can rest assured the Cavalry is on its way .

In Christ , our Lord

Don't you just love the sun shine.
The way it can bring warmth to the face and the spirit.
It's just a small glimpse of Gods glory. What an awesome day it will be when we see Him face to face.

I had a really good day yesterday...but last night the enemy tried to stop me dead in my tracks...started wondering why I even bothered to continue because of what others say or think...and a friend reminded me to please God and not man...and that what others say about me does not define me....so I'm using these thoughts to push the enemy back...it's difficult as I'm having to tell myself these 2 Truths over and over...but with doing so...I will eventually believe them to be True.

Oh , if I only had a penny for each time I would ask myself "Why am I doing this ! " , Especially in the line of work , the The Father saw it fit for me to occupy at the present time , for it has a lot to do with "transformation of thought(s)" so to speak ...... (in others) , and mlg , of all people , you should know how hard and and an almost an impossibility it was for me at the beginning , I mean I was "quitting" every half an hour !
A year or so later , I still find myself saying things "I might not be good enough to do this " when faced with the message not going through the thick heads of some of the yo yo's I have to deal with on my caseload .
(Yes I do call them yo yo's , as opposed to "lost souls" for a good reason) they act as such ! They come in the office with their "Gimme's" and I end up spending an hour with their "Don't wanna's" and the next thing I know , I either want to throw my hands in the air or think about throwing them out the window , but usually I throw them out of my office instead , safer that way .
By their actions or inactions , my emotions get tangled up (usually anger) and when I get to that point , I cannot possibly be serving God the way He wants me to , I am serving man ! both them and/or me . So I just simply put as quick of an end to it as I possibly can , because of one reason , if I continue , His purpose will not be served , no matter how hard I try , because my mindset now is to win over the retaliation , rather than handing it back to God and saying "Lord ? I tried , he's all yours from now on" . 99.9% of the time His answer to me would be " You did very well , I am pleased with you " . You know what my reaction at that time to Him would be ? (considering the state of mind at that moment ?) . Like " what dya mean ? Yebut .. I failed .. but .. but !" and He would smile and say " Listen yo-yo ! " and I go "K, gotcha , Cya" Because I know what His next Words would be , they would be like " It is I that sent you there , and it I that says whether you did well or not , believe Me , if you had done anything else otherwise , I have no problem letting you know about it , so , stop listening to yourself and start listening to Me instead ! "

Yesterday was a really good day...and chat was very busy last night...many hurting friends here....

Today I have to keep renewing my thoughts not to think about how others are doing this or that...and yet going nowhere with all they do...that's not for me to think about...as that is between them and God...but I see them where I was...doing things they aren't really called to do...but doing because they feel obligated or because of whatever reason...I pray for these.

I sure hope today will be as good as yesterday...
