waiting

This forum is a place where those who feel called by the Lord are able to post about any trials or victories they are going through as they serve the Lord by reaching and teaching His children. You can post and then lock your thread so no one can reply, if you so choose. Think of it as your own personal diary or journal that you choose to share with others who are called as to share ideas, experiences and tips as they too serve the Lord.

Do what you know to do. Keep your spiritual schedule- develop one if you have not. I imagine you have - surely looks like it from here. :)

Observe your life. Make sure you have a few minutes to be quiet each day.

Listen to your heart. Weigh what you hear against the word of God. Do you have peace?

Perhaps it is time to visit another church? Or to Google churches in your area and sit and pray over the selection?
Hugs,
Dema

dear dema,

*hug*

i spend pretty much my whole day listening to the Word either on Daystar, audio Bible, recorded sermons or teachings and conversing with God. while doing household chores.

as far as what my heart says...i am anxious to be able to do something. i stay logged in here and refresh new posts frequently in case i can say a word or prayer for someone. i struggle about the church thing. i want to go to church. i want to go to church where my kids will get fed. the churches that have childrens programs are the 3 big ones. the big ones...i feel agitated when i leave there. the people...they are so concentrated about themselves. there are some who are genuinely seeking God i'm certain. but probably a very high percentage are there so their church friends can see their expensive clothes and their new hairdo or their cool car...they practically run over you when service is over because they are in such a hurry to get out of the parking lot before the traffic jam. at one church, there are so many people everyone cant sit in the main auditorium. they seat people in the classrooms, etc with video screens to see the preacher . at another its standing room only. it's great that so many people want to go to church. but they get the feel-goods from the service and then, no sooner than the service ends, they have forgotten the message.

when i go to one i pray Lord show me if this is where we belong. nothing. either i can't hear or He isnt speaking. *dunno*

i feel like i need to find a place to volunteer and i feel like theres something i can be doing from home. i just dont know where or what. and i feel kinda just stuck.

thank you for listening, sis

*hug*

much love

It is really challenging to find the right church. We are all part of the body of Christ. And a church needs different body parts. But ... well sometimes the other body parts are all toned and tanned and..... lol.

I went to a church where they sang out of tune. rofl. I only attended once. I'm sure singing out of tune is still a joyful noise to the Lord. And I often sing out of tune to. But the problem is that my ears have pretty close to perfect pitch but my voice box doesn't. Oh no So, I need people who can both sing in tune AND sing louder than me.

Anyway, I found a church where I fit in. Actually, I can hit ten or so notes perfectly. Sometimes I only sing those notes.

I hope that gave you a chuckle. A small church where your kids sit with you wouldn't be a bad thing. Having that community with people I can hug is valuable to me.

But I know it is tough. There are so many people with dubious motives.

But..... a church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum of saints.

Personally, I tend to judge the judger. Thou shalt not judge - does judging the judger count???
