Drawing closer to Jesus

Postby morningrain » Tue Nov 15, 2011 2:13 pm

For the Lord by His Spirit He speaks to our mind, heart and soul, "Be still, and know that I am God,..." (Psa.46:10)

Sometimes in times of trails and tribulations and we find ourselves tired and not sure if we can go on much longer, its time to sit, think and meditate on this, What is Jesus to you, what has Jesus done for you, take a glance back and look and remember the circumstances in which He found you, how has He delievered you?

We all at one time was on the path of destruction and on our way directly to hell. You were dead in your trepasses and sins. In that state we were in, slaves to sin and to satan forever. Chains held us down and the prison walls enclosed all around us. Facing damnation forever.

Yet, Jesus came and saved us, saved you, saved you from your adversary the devil, who is a roaring lion, who walketh about seeking to devour you!
He saved you from God's righteous wrath, you have been justified by the blood of Jesus.
He saved you from the sting of death, giving you victory over the grave.
He saved you from the flaming furnace of hell where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

We, each of God's children can say without a doubt and full of faith, Jesus is my savior, who is divine, who has chosen to forever love me, hold me, never leaving me, Jesus our Savior who lived, labored, and died just for me, He has pleaded on my behalf before the Throne of His Father. He has promised to come and recieve me to Himself, that i may forever be with Him. Jesus who knows me better then anyone else, knows my likes and my dislikes, keeps me, and watches over me, daily walking with me and has gone before me to make a way for me. and as we look to Him, drawing closer and walking closer to Him, He is rejoicing over us, as we are rejoicing over Him. His arms is always wide open ready to catch us when we feel lost, or have fallen. Sometimes we have a way of stepping back, away from Jesus but without us knowing, He is stepping that much more closer to us, ready to catch us in His arms.

The next time you find yourself in doubt and feeling alone, the world doesn't want us to have time alone with God, go sit, mediate on Him, Be still, and KNOW, God is God. Look to Him, talk to Him, call upon Him, He is right there waiting to hear from you! Jesus yearns to have you seeking Him. He's ready to deliever you once again and He will over and over if He has too. Jesus Loves you with an everlasting love that can never be broken.

One more thing, when you have family members you are worried about, remember how Christ has worked in your life, how He has delievered you, then know. Jesus can work the same in their lives also, no matter what the circumstances. Look to Jesus, Know He is Lord, Savior, Deliverer, the Light, and is the Bread of Life. The closer you draw to Jesus, to the others will see Jesus in you and God can use that and can speak through you to draw them to Christ.

Lord Bless you all

Angeltears I loved what you wrote; sometimes we try taking things in our own hands but we do need to listen to GOD. For the Lord by His Spirit He speaks to our mind, heart and soul, "Be still, and know that I am God,..." (Psa.46:10) GOD is GOD, he is in control of all. Whether your right or wrong or someone else is. He has control over life and no man can ever do that. No man has any control over your eternal destination they may think they do but I know GOD is the one at the wheel. I've learned a lot out of people the past 7 years, it's funny I never really paid much attention to people spirits but once you become a Child of GOD that changes things. You find yourself knowing whom is struggling in the spirit and who is not. Those who try taking others in there hands is not quite were GOD wants them to be. When they try to take on GODS will and not let it be his, well GOD is GOD. We just need to pray for those and for myself. Angel I am going to save this and reflect back on it, very good forum. Luv Gabrielle *Pray* *Pray* *Pray* *Pray*

Very nice Angletears, when I draw close to the Lord either in warfare or just for intimacy the worship is where my choice of battle takes place. When I enter into his presence, at no other time am I closer to him, it is then that I pour out my heart to him, being transparent and surrender to his spirit.

By drawing closer to Jesus first you have to draw close to the one who sent him, the Almighty God Jehovah. John 7:28-Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. Jesus set the example to imitate did he not? So why is it important to get to know both Jesus and his Father.(John 17:3-And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.) When we gain a relationship with his father than we'll be able to gain a personal relationship with Jesus.
