God compares marriage to the union between the Lord and the Church.

Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour of the body. (Body of Christ)

Ever ponder on your wedding day?

Whether it has occurred or is yet to be.

What a special event you want/wanted it to be?

Remember that many of you planned your wedding since you were a child?

Looking at wedding dresses, thinking that they were the most beautiful articles clothing you had ever seen and you could not wait to have a reason to try one on or buy one?

Thinking of who would be your bridesmaids at each stage of your life as your friends changed?

Going to weddings and taking mental notes of what you wanted and didn’t want from the wedding you were observing?
Weighing the pros and cons of a big wedding verses a small wedding, a big bridal shower verses a small one, a flower girl or no flower girl, where to register, should we send out save the date notices, evening or afternoon wedding, colors of the wedding, food served at the reception ... etc.

It has/had to be picture perfect.

Can any wedding be picture perfect?

Can any MARRIAGE be picture perfect?

What if there was one marriage that WAS picture perfect?

Wouldn’t we be taking notes? Wanting to find out how we can make OUR marriage just like that one?

We are going to peek in on a wedding in preparation …

THE WEDDING OF JESUS

Revelation 19:7-9
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the Marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

What?

The Lamb … Meaning Jesus, has a wife?

ABSOLUTELY

But, who is the soon-to-be “wife”?

Great question.

The answer is ... Christians

The Body of Christ.

The Church.

So, when you became a Christian ... You became ENGAGED to Jesus.
