It is comforting to know that you have someone to turn to in times of suffering and trials.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus wants us to know that no matter what He has already overcome, and because of that we can have peace in the times of trouble.

Only 2 more steps left Taryn. I pray you are feeling the love and hope Jesus has for you.

Take care

It is good to know that Jesus is always by our side. He holds a small, faint vision of Himself over my left shoulder at all times.

Stepping Stone 13

Something I've been thinking of doing is to start a non-profit, to train service/therapy/companion animals and help pair people who would benefit from having one with one. I would also try to set it up so that we'd be going to animal shelters to find the cats and dogs for the programs to also help with overcrowding.

I think that is a wonderful idea. I love animals.

Stepping Stone 14

I'll continue studying and practicing what I have learned. I haven't gotten it down perfectly, but I have felt a change for the better. I'm going back to school in the fall to study sociology, and I hope to work with non-profits (existing ones or starting new ones) so I can help people.

I have a physical copy of the Bible that I can study; if I don't have it with me I've found digital copies I can read. Maybe I'll continue this journal by sharing my thoughts about different passages of the Bible. :)

*Clap* Woohoo! You have now completed all the steps of the program. If you find yourself feeling low again, make sure to revisit the steps. They will help remind you how far you have come.

I love your idea of helping animals that don't have a home. It's so rewarding to take care of God's creations. You will for sure be blessed.

I look forward to reading more of your shared thoughts here at the Oasis.

God Bless you Taryn

Sociology is a good choice. I wish I had chosen it when I was younger.

Please, do continue this thread. I enjoy hearing your thoughts.

I see so many uplifting words here. Taryn you've seemed to have grown and changed through this study. *Clap*

Thank you for the friends request. We have so much in common. I've been working on my healing about 4 years now. I do see a psychiatrist and a therapist. Which helped a lot. Some are against it but some need it. It's helped get the clutter out of my life so I can truly worship God through my day. I feel more settled.

Ive also wanted to train dogs to help others. I feel I may still do that one day just not right now. I hope you get to accomplish this! How much fun would that be?!?! :) Let me know if you do. I'd be excited for you.

God has given you a gift to reach out and help others who are hurting. You've gone down a path that unfortunately many others have gone down. Now you can use your experience to reach out to others. Here at the Oasis is a great place to help. People come here hurting and need the studies here and find friends who understand and care. That's you. You understand and care and can help them along the paths in their study.

God bless and keep you. Keep those thoughts turning to God with out any guilt when you falter because He is quick to forgive.

One thing that I still struggle with (as a side effect of having anxiety/depression) is cutting. I haven't cut in about a month and a half at least, but I still get the urge to from time to time. Doesn't really help that not all of my scars have faded. But what helps me stop from doing it again is remembering I am loved.

Hi Taryn, cutting is similar to those of us who bite our fingernails. You do it before you realize what you have done because you have nervous energy and don't know how to get rid of it. Instead of cutting, try exercising. It is a healthy release of nervous energy.

God bless you

Hi Taryn. Try just watching the feeling come and go with out having to act on it. Don't judge yourself for feeling those thoughts.

I still struggle with the same. It's been a month. My trigger was I felt rejected.

Once you heal this will end. You'll find other ways to respond to your feelings.

mlg is right, exercise works too. Splashing your face with ice water or stepping in a cold cold shower may help. It does me. I've gotten to the point it feels good.

Love you.
