A slap in the face - Monday stone 4

Postby Tanperrett » Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:22 am

I have seen people been slapped in the face by a calm person, when they are hysterical and this is kind of how I felt reading todays study...
My guilt is it really just self-pity? Do I pity myself for the things that have happened in my life believing why me? Instead of God knows best and all things are working in His plan? Wow indeed so much to ponder on, and the definition of what forgiveness is to me shall on judgement day be the way Jesus forgives me!!!

Hello Tanperrett,

God bless you this day.

You are doing well to ponder these lessons in the study, which are all accompanied by God's blessed Word, Truth.

Actually, as I read your post, I felt the need to revisit Step 4. God is so very Good! You see, guilt tried to have it's way with me today. And it was hidden in the form of deep sadness over a situation in my life. I had been talking to God about this for several hours, and with each exchange with Him, I either cried or felt like I was going to cry. I don't have a problem at all with confessing everything to God -- even those things I know He has forgiven me for. But, what I had temporarily forgotten was that by not receiving His grace today, I was prolonging that overwhelming feeling of guilt. All that did was work to keep me distracted -- a separation, if you will, from walking in God's blessed and complete grace.

I started thinking about Peter, and his having denied Christ 3 times. Is it any wonder that Christ asked him, 3 times if he loved Him? Christ knew that guilt was eating Peter up, setting up a separation, if you will, from Peter walking in Christ's blessed and complete grace.

God is so very Good!!!

Keep going, sister in Christ. Jesus loves you.

God bless and keep you,
Mack
