The Necessity of Faith!

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

The Necessity of Faith!

Hello All,

*AngelYellow*
Blessings!

As has been discussed, our growth in the Lord is ever accompanied by two companions that we absolutely can not afford to be without, faith and grace.

Romans 4

[16] Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father
of us all,

Paul has taught us that we are justified in God's presence without the deeds of the law if we come to Him believing in Jesus, what He has done for us on the cross, His resurrection and seating on the right hand of the Father, and His pouring out on the Holy Heavenly Altar of God's Grace, His Everlasting Most Prized and Precious Blood on our behalf.

We have been taught that through the brokenness of His body, and the shedding of His blood, our Dad our God our Father has made an EVERLASTING COVENANT with us through which He ever works through Christ Jesus to bring us to Him in Glory!

But our faith in believing always in our Lord ever seems to be on trial while we are here present in our physical bodies. Faith seems to be constantly challenged such that like our Grand Dad in the faith, faithful Abraham, we have to always believe God to accomplish that which He has promised no matter what we think, no matter what we feel, no matter what the appearances of our circumstances are.

It seems that we are constantly at war to maintain our faith, keep our faith, put up the shield of faith, act in faith, be strong in faith believing, speak our faith, demand the rights of our faith, exercise our faith, and make our faith work!

So how do we keep our faith strong? Our faith in God is indispensable,
for without it we can not please Him. The Grace of God is ever present, but as we have seen, we can not access or become a partaker of that grace without faith, that is, believing God despite the fact of our imperfections. Such is called saving faith, a measure of which, it is written, God has given all.

But how do we keep our faith strong? We keep our physical body strong by feeding it, exercising it, keeping it clean, protecting it, and resting it. Is our faith of no less importance? Seeing that to a large degree our eternal destiny rests on the keeping of it, such would seem good sense to do for our faith.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.

Hello Saint *hug*

God bless you this day.

Amen, Amen, Amen!!!

Hebrews 11:1-2
(1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
(2) For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Your awesome message reminded me of that old hymn:

"Faith of our fathers"

Faith of our fathers, living still,
In spite of dungeon, fire, and sword;
Oh, how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene'er we hear that glorious Word!

Refrain:
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to Thee till death.

Faith of our fathers, we will strive
To win all nations unto thee;
And through the truth that comes from God,
We all shall then be truly free.

Refrain:

Faith of our fathers, we will love
Both friend and foe in all our strife;
And preach Thee, too, as love knows how
By kindly words and virtuous life.

Refrain:

God bless you, Saint.
Love,
Mack
