#5 Faith Priority! Rest It!

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

#5 Faith Priority! Rest It!

Hello All,

*AngelYellow*
Blessings!

We have been discussing how we keep our faith strong. We have identified 5 things essential for strong faith. We have seen that we need to feed our faith, exercise our faith, keep it clean, and protect it. Now comes the fifth thing we need to do in order to keep our faith strong, rest it.

But how can we rest our faith when, in this day it seems, there are so many challenges. It seems we are at war at every turn, bombs exploding right and left, and yet we persevere, unscathed, still growing. Often we only find peace when in church. We find rest in our Lord's wonderful love that overflows us there from time to time. Or we find rest in prayer, tearfully pouring out our pain and sorrow before the Lord over the greatness of the load we bear.

But how often do we truly leave our burdens at the altar? How often can we truly say that we have cast our cares upon the Lord and forgotten about them? Often the Word of God gives us great consolation, but to experience the reality of its effective working seems an illusive thing. It is at those times we must spend time praising and thanking the Lord in the Spirit for the great things He has accomplished for us.

Phil.4

[6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
[7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I Peter 5

[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
[7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

We rest our faith in church. We rest our faith in prayer. We rest our faith in praise.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
