Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Hello Christianity Oasis, All...

Learning to discern between good and evil and how to protect our soul from spiritual assault are challenging tasks everyone that is born again and filled with the Spirit must face. What many of us have struggled to understand early on in our walk with God is that such assaults on our soul are warfare and must be dealt with accordingly. All too often we confuse the thoughts bombarding us as being our Lord condemning us, but such is a lie of the devil, for the Apostle Paul declared, Rom.8 [1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Our Lord will never assault us, but our spirit will convict us if we sin. To that end we have the assurance from the Apostle John that, 1John.1 [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So what, then, should be our number one job learning to discern between good and evil and warring in the Spirit? It is to believe, (have faith in), the Words of our Lord and His Apostles above all that man or devil says to us.

First of all the Apostle Paul tells us our faith is our greatest defensive weapon, capable of stopping the verbal assaults of the devil dead in their tracks. I have learned over the years that it is required of us to do all things in faith, to have faith to eat what I eat, to have faith to drink what I eat, to have faith to say what I say, understanding that all things are lawful for me by faith.

1Cor.6[12] All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1Cor.10 [23] All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. Paul makes this clear in Rom.3 [27] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. But what then is the Law of Faith? Paul states it this way. Rom.14:[22] Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. [23] And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. So how do we apply the following verse in our warfare? Eph.6 [16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. We say to Satan that all things we are doing we are doing in faith by the Law of Faith. I have found this stops the devil dead in his tracks every time.

Here are some scriptures to ponder.

John.8
[44] (The devil) He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John.10
[10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Here are some scriptures that will help us war in the Spirit.

Luke 10: [18] And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
[19] Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Regardless of what we feel, think or say we have God given authority over the devil.

2Cor.10: [3] For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
[4] (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
[5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; If our thoughts are negative cast them down, then generate a corresponding good thought out of your will.

Jas.4
[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The devil doesn't like us bringing into the presence of the Father because it is naked and will flee the light.

1John.4
[1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
[2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
[3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. If you will challenge the thoughts in our mind in this manner you will discover just how very, very much they are not of our Lord or us.

Eph.6: [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We get exactly no where when acting out of the flesh. I've posted a video below to illustrate this truth.

Rom.8: [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us;
[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We achieve oneness with our Lord if we walk in love in all circumstances and when we do we become more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

Psalm 91: [11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
[12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. We have every right to ask our Heavenly Dad to send angels to take charge of us in trying circumstances.

Love, in Christ Jesus, Saint701.
It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
