Many, many years ago while aboard the Aircraft Carrier Enterprise I had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong, then a British province flourishing in commerce. While on shore taking in the sights with a friend of mine we found ourselves walking up a steep hill that would give us a fantastic panoramic view of the vast city, but then came the surprise. Just above us stood numerous colored graven images carved out of stone, each a demon with different features. It seems that thousands of years ago the Chinese realized they were beset upon by numerous forces competing for power over their lives, and so was born a union with those forces overseen by a dragon.

One thing that has always amazed me even in our western civilization has been the need to create graven images, some honoring men, but more often honoring what many believe are higher powers governing our good fortune and destiny. Of course the problem with graven images is that our God finds such gravely offensive, as we are to have no other Gods.

Exod.20
[1] And God spake all these words, saying,
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Back to the saga of the Chinese...was on Facebook the other day scrolling posts when I came upon one alleging the CCP, Communist Chinese Party, was rewriting the Bible and teaching their version to their young people, the passage in question was Jesus saving the woman from an excruciating death by stoning, having been taken in adultery. (John.8:3-11). In the post on Facebook it seems the CCP had rewritten the passage to say that all that went out from the woman were sinners, but then Jesus said, "I am also a sinner," and then He Himself stoned her to death! Good grief! What blasphemy!!! But of course we have been forewarned of such in this time we live in. Two such passages of scripture come to mind.

2Pet.2
[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2Tim.3
[1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
[3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
[4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
[5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

From these passages we understand who we are to be on the lookout to avoid...still...we are reminded that we do not war against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Please pray this prayer with me.

You principalities, you powers, you rulers of the darkness of this world, you spiritual wickedness in high places that are behind the evils done to those Chinese of China who believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we bind you and demand in the Name that is above every Name, who alone has all power in Heaven and in Earth, the Lord Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh and died for our sins, and was raised up for our justification, that you all...from the least of you...to the greatest of you... cease in your maneuvers and manipulations against the Sons and Daughters of the Almighty God in China...we loose you from your assignments to harm them through the leadership of the CCP and demand that you all depart from them, and we loose the Armies of God Almighty to end your reign of terror!!!
