2Thessalonians2: Doorway to the Tribulation

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

I was so startled by what I saw on television a while back that I blurted out, "Well...welcome to Sodom and Gomorrahville!" To which my brother replied, who was sitting across the dining room table from me, "Yep!" That single televised event was noteworthy... not that it stands alone declaring the perilous times we live in, but was more of an exclamation point that we are living in a lawless age where many have fallen away, desiring to fulfill the lusts of their eyes, being overcome by the pride of their lives, reveling in worldly pleasures, pursuing lawlessness as a means of acquiring material wealth, robbing, pillaging, and murdering their own and innocent bystanders without so much as a single thought to their mayhem's eternal consequences.

Second Thessalonians chapter 2 of the Amplified Bible, (cited above), describes in detail what the world will be like when the wicked one is revealed. It will be a time of great chaos not unlike the day we are living in now. The winds and the seas will be raging and roaring, but not because of global warming, but because the Word of God has declared that they will, signaling that we have entered into the general frame of time of 3 earth shaking events, the unmasking of the antichrist, the beginning of the Tribulation, and the Rapture of Believers.

The unmasking of the antichrist is at hand...he can't be hidden much longer...we see and understand the signs of the times...I believe that he is alive in the current world we live in awaiting his unveiling, a shrewdly cunning creature, who scripture tells us will arrive with signs and wonders, so much so, that he deceives Israel and those of the world who do not believe in and love our Lord Jesus with all of their heart, mind, soul, and strength to this end, that a temple is built for him in Israel, wherein he declares himself to be God, ushering in the last 3.5 years of the tribulation.

It is my firm belief that we will not enter into the tribulation period without warning, that our eyes will be wide open when that wicked one is revealed...that we that are the Lord's will recognize him immediately and begin warning all that God's Day of Wrath is at hand and that only those continuing to the end type Christians will be saved.

Our 3rd topic, the Rapture, is intriguing to most all...when will that day come? The body of Christ on the Earth has been watching and waiting for that day some two thousand years...and yet we wait...all we have to advise us of this exalted day wherein our Lord comes for His Bride we find in First and Second Thessalonians, the premiere being this, that it will occur at the last trump...Rev.11:[15] And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. *band*

What, then, does all this mean for us? It means the same as it always has. We must be diligent in our watchfulness, for we do not know the day nor the hour when our Lord will come for us. If we have not been filled with the Holy Spirit, washed and regenerated in the new birth, where we cry, abba, Father, where old things have passed away and all things have become new for us, then it is a must that we kneel before our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross, and beseech Him that He might baptize us into His death, affliction, and resurrection, and fill us with His Spirit. Oh, that we might beseech Him for such, if we haven't become a born again Spirit filled believer, for let it not be found of us that we are of the unwise virgins who took no oil in their lamps.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
