God loves YOU

In the beginning, God was lonely. And God made things. And they were very good. But God was lonely. So he made man in his image. Spiritual. Able to talk directly with God. And it was good. But man was lonely. So, God made him a woman. And the woman was deceived. But the man was not deceived. And the man chose to sin with the woman rather than to leave her to suffer God's wrath alone.

So, first God gave Man an easy life with almost no temptation. And yet there was sin.

So, then God gave man hard work. And still there was sin. And God destroyed all the bad people in the flood. And still there was sin. Because people plead with God, he blew up Sodom and Gomorrah. But still there was sin.

So, God gave laws. And judges. And a means of enforcement. And still there was sin. And God gave sacrifices to atone for sin. And still there was sin.

And Jesus came. And he hung out with sinners. And he condemned the self-righteous religious leaders. And he forgave adulteresses. And God chose a murderer to take the gospel everywhere.

Sin, like poverty, will be with us always.

The theme of all of this is not how awful we are. It is how much we need God. That is the theme. We NEED God. And God loves us and wants us and has been involved since the beginning. In the beginning God made man because he was lonely.

God loves YOU. He loves you very much. And all you have to do is accept the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and you are cleansed. And you CAN have communion with God. Guilt and blame are the devil's tools to keep you separated from God.

Just accept, like a little child. Just accept. It is a GIFT.

I would not say God was lonely but He does love us so much that He died for us.

I have two things here I have a bit of a hard time accepting. But understand these are my own opinions and beliefs and not meant to say that they are wrong or that any one else is wrong that believes different. One: I have to agree with Clark I don't believe God created man due to loneliness. That just don't make sense to me. the second thing I have an issue with is Adam knowingly jumped into sin to prevent Eve from suffering the consequences alone? That again does not make any sense to me especially with my own beliefs I have come to have about the situation through my own walk with the Lord and in my own soul searching.

I''ve heard studies on God's desire for us and our worship. But the short answer is that God created us for fellowship with him and that the Bible shows a keen desire to have fellowship with us. And that God shows sadness when we don't have fellowship with him.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

This brings a picture to mind. A dark world. With God moving over the face of the waters.

I've also heard teachings on the other. I need more time than I have here. But if you read the account of Eve and the serpent, it is said over and over that Adam hearkened unto the voice of Eve. 1 Timothy 2:14

I personally believe that man, and all things were created for God's glory and His pleasure. I'm not sure they were made because God was lonely. But I know these scriptures are very specific about why we were created, as well as why all things were created.

Isaiah 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Revelation 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

I know that I am able to love because He loved me first. I also long to be with Him, and I am lonely for Him if I stray too far, and there was this big ole hole in my heart -- a longing for Him -- before I came to know Him. A longing that nothing else could fill. He placed that longing within me. So, too, I can see where I miss Him because He missed me first. He knew each one of us before the foundation of the earth.

You closed with this statement:

Sweet message, and in many ways, you shared like a "little child". I can imagine if a little child were asked why God made mankind, that their response would be: Because He was lonely for us. Awesome!

Thank you Mack. Like a little child, I know somebody taught me that and I believed it. But trying to remember the specifics is a little tough.

But God talks about giving birth to us and about Jesus having the Joy of labor and other mother imagery as well as referring to himself as our father and Jesus told us we can call him Abba which is Daddy.

Doesn't it also says he longs for us?

I guess, being a parent and having good parents, I know how much the parent's heart longs for a call from the child, or a hug.

I know a lot of people here have never experienced a parent longing for them. And that is not the way it is supposed to be. But God does. God longs for you. He loves you. He loves YOU. Soooooo much.

And I think every child knows how the parent is supposed to love them. It reflects their own longing. And God does love you like that. He really, really does.

Oh to be loved by Him completely and totally not because I'm good or I deserve it but because He IS love. A love that never changes, never seeks to hurt us...a love that is ALWAYS for us. A difficult concept for so many of us to grasp. But yet He does. God, I am so grateful for Your love. And I am striving to accept it.
