Colossians 3:1King James Version (KJV)
3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Easy English Bible
v1 God has raised you from death, so that you are alive with Christ. So, you should continue to look up. You should want more and more the things that are in *heaven, with Christ. Christ is sitting next to God, at his right side.

These are my thoughts.
We should be doing things of righteousness and not things of the flesh.

Col 3:5

Colossians 3:5King James Version (KJV)
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Easy English Bible

v5So you must refuse to do bad things that belong to this earth. So then those things will stop being part of your life. You must not have sex with someone who is not your husband or your wife. You must not think bad, dirty thoughts. You must not want to have sex with other people. You must not want to do bad things. You must not want to have more and more things for yourselves. People who want things strongly like that are making those things more important than God. So they are really *worshipping those things.

We should do whatever we need to do to remove sin from ourselves, apart from doing more sin.

We are fallible by nature and weak. We need to have the strength and grace from God to help us keep away from sin. Unless we have the grace of God, we are powerless to keep away from sin. And so we should always pray, and keep ourselves close to God. For the devil is cunning and lays his traps, to lure weak humans into the trap of sin, in whichever form it is. But God is our strength! These are my thoughts.
There was once a time we lived as the world, we should be able to understand that without the One we have Christ, they will continue and those ways as we would if we never came to Him.
