What can Christians do?

Postby goldieluvs » Sat Feb 14, 2009 10:30 pm

Good evening everyone! I have been pondering a question for quite some time now, so I decided to bring it here and ask for ya'lls input. You know how people look at Christians to see if we are living as we should and are considered as hypocrites if we do not walk worthy of our vocation which God has called us to do. I was watching Jesus of Nazareth tonight and in it Jesus was talking about not worrying about what we were going to eat or wear cuz God takes care of the birds, etc, and to only worry about today that tomorrow has enough troubles. (basic jest of it). At any rate, I have been thinking what is one thing that we can do so that others can see Jesus living in us and want Jesus in their lives? I am sure the answers will be varied. And i know i sin in many ways everyday, although i strive not to. I do believe that we are to continually strive to walk worthy and to shrug off the old fleshly way of living. So.. in thinking about these things, who better to ask than my family here at Oasis what they think can most show others that Jesus lives in us without being considered as hypocrites? Although I am aware that regardless of what we do, there will still be some who will continue to hold that perception. I am looking for how do we allow Jesus to shine in our bodies ? I know we will not be perfect and am not asking for a perfect answer, as we are all different with one common thread. So, how do we let others see that common thread??? Ok family lets see what the Holy Spirit shows us and spread it so that we all may learn more here!! Thank you all and luvs u all very much

GREAT thread sis !!! ... although i'm a little confused
.... what they think can most show others that Jesus lives in us without being considered as hypocrites? Although I am aware that regardless of what we do, there will still be some who will continue to hold that perception.

yes, goldie, with some it won't matter what we do or say, or even if we could, live perfectly ... they would still find dirt in/on us; personally, i'm not to concerned about them ... they are His to deal with.

the ones we most impact with our behaviour are those in our immediate sphere of influence. the ones we see on a regular basis. i'm starting a new friendship with a woman who works at our local grocery store; we've been friends for about a year now. i try to show her the love of Jesus by putting her first. i walk my talk. i'm very transparent with her and let her see my faults as well. and thru the course of our friendship she has seen my faults turn to the positive .... and the change that has come about in me from them.

i don't judge her. she goes to a medium/soothsayer and quite often has her cards read. she says she believes in God but i can't make her understand that she's not really following Him by doing these things. at first she said we couldn't be friends because because i was born again and she thinks that i'm following a man made religion ... etc. and that our views and beliefs are polar opposites because she follows the only one true worship of "GOD" ... its 'spiritism' that she follows, although she doesn't call it that ... i handed it over to God and prayed that if He didn't want me to befriend her to put a block up whenever i shop.

He didn't do it. so here we are 1 year later ... and in a deepening friendship. i really love her and enjoy her company. she queeries every so often and i answer what she asks. God has told me to implement His Word of ... "being ready to give an answer to all who asks" ... and she does. how i show Jesus to her is by not being pushy with my faith ... i just love her and accept her the way she is.

and i show her that ... she knows that i believe what she's doing is wrong ... yet, we are still friends.

awww awesome sis!!! How God works is just awesome! I didnt mean to confuse people. maybe i should reread what i wrote lol What i really mean is what can we as Christians do so that others can see that Jesus lives in us? I figured people would have different ideas of how they let Jesus shine in theirselves, for me its being open about God and befriending them and doing what i can to help. For others it may be different what they do. Wow, I confuse peeps alot. I need to really evaluate what i say. I must have open mouth insert foot syndrome lol Ok just to be clear,, the question is What can we as Christians do so that others see that Jesus lives in us????

Hi goldie!!

ok well i have changed alot since i rededicated to Christ in October.

Alot of people who i come in contact with know the sin i was involved in and they see that Because of my dedication to Christ and the way He is transforming me to make better decisions for myself and the way i lead my life. And they see the way i have changed and that change is possible! But i always give God the glory for it when they ask.

Through Him all things are possible! my life has changed dramatically and they see that Christ is the one who changed it!

So thats how i let Jesus shine through me!

Love ya goldie!
