The promise that helped me overcome my destuctive emotions was:

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. (Amplified)
"My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades." (Timbuk 3)
1 Peter 1:3-5

This is a promise that God is compassionate

Isaiah 30:18

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you, he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him.

My Promise today is...
Habakkuk 3:19

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds feet and will make me to walk(not stand in terror, but to walk) and make (spiritual) progress upon my high places ( of trouble, suffering, or responsibility)!

I LOVE that scripture, and have used it many times to stir myself up in my spirit! It gives such a wonderful picture. Thanks for bringing that one to the banquet table, Tam.
