When a hive gets too crowded, half the bees (together with the queen) swarm temporarily to a nearby tree to wait while several hundred go and scout for a new home.

But how do they decide which site is best?

The bees go through a group decision-making process.

They dance the waggle dance which is also how they report of where to find food.

The better the new living area, the stronger the waggle dance, and that prompts other scouts to visit the site.

If they agree it's a good choice, they return to the swarm, and their waggle dance stirs other scouts to investigate the potential site, and so on. The researchers say that scouts advertising different sites compete to persuade uncommitted scouts to assess that proposed location.

I can just picture the little wiggling beehinds as they compete to draw more attention to their chosen site.

Makes me wonder, when did this language begin amongst the bees?
How did the first bees survive? With out this intricate language they wouldn't have lasted one generation. Who decided waggle to the left meant pollen was this direction and waggles to the right meant pollen was this other direction and circles and zig zag waggles meant how far or how close.

Could this small insect have just by chance determined an intricate language to preserve their species? I hardly can believe it was just by chance.

To me this just points towards a loving creator.

I love nature. Sometimes I sit on the ground and just examine a spot of soil. The grasses, noticing the lines and texture, the dirt and how it seems to be made of many different substances, dead grass, sand, small rocks, decayed leaves, roots, and I'm certain animal droppings. Then I watch nature interact with nature. Little bugs that are so tiny we don't normally see them unless we take the time to focus closely. Usually my study of this small portion of earth is interrupted by a big dog that has found me at her level. She cant resists pushing me over and giving me a little nudge with her nose. I love my canine friend.


Today as I'm snuggled up warm in my house I think of the dieing flowers outside in the flower garden. It seems sad. To see them, brown and rotting. I can't help but to wonder and even fret a little if they'll return in the spring. I know a harsh cold winter is soon to cover them with a blanket of snow.

Though the tops are dead and rotting on the ground, or in a compost heap, the roots thrive, taking advantage of this damp weather they continue to grow. They don't have the responsibility of producing greenery or flowers so all their energy goes into the root.

Until the ground becomes cold. Just as when we are cold we want to sleep. The plants are no different in this. Under the blanket of snow they sleep. Rest is good. Even nature rests. Until the snow melts and the ground begins to thaw. Then the root begins working on greenery once again.

It seems so weird how each plant knows the season and it's responsibility for that season.

How does it know? Who tells it? It hasn't a brain. There is no scientific reason for a plant to continue the cycle season after season.

The plant is not just a pretty face.
It removes carbon dioxide from the air and give off oxygen. Humans breath oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Seems as if there was a perfect plan behind this.

I fail to have faith a big boom created such a unique relationship between human and plant. Or that we (plant and human) evolved together into this need for each other. Or by chance the plants know how to behave for each season in order to survive another year.

Did you know pine needles are coated with a waxy substance naturally so to allow ice and snow to slide off more easily. This allows them to absorb more sunlight and to help keep them from molding.

Kinda cool!


Gee how smart a pine tree is. Oh wait! It doesn't have a brain.
Must of been a brilliant creator behind it.

Did you know the pine cone stands up straight so to allow the rain to wash over it when it isn't ready to release it's seeds? The scales are held tightly together so the water doesn't seep in and rot the valuable seed.

Then when the weather is just right and only when the weather is just right the cone will droop and open allowing the wind to rush through the spiral shaped scales so to carry the seeds away from the mother tree.

If the weather is to dry or to damp the cone will not open.

The scales being in a spiral shape allow the wind to blow not only through the cone, but around it so to carry more seeds away where they can receive sunlight and grow. If they fell to the foot of the mother tree they would not survive for the larger mother tree would take all the sunlight.

I find this very amazing!

Nature is amazing. But what is even more amazing is the one who created it.
This could not have happened just by chance.



Ever wonder why the conifers (trees that keep their needles in the winter) stay green all winter and other trees loose their leaves?

I've not found the answer to this. But I do know many animals would not survive with out the conifers. It keeps the snow and ice off the deer as they bed down underneath. Giving them not only protection from the harsh winter but also covering from predators.

honestly, (and now ur gonna see just how simple i really am ) i thought it was so that we could have something green (showing life) to look at during the dreary winter of muck and cold!!



if you find out the real reason i'd like to know; because i DO know that God never does anything superfluous, He's always got a reason!

The only reason I can find is to provide for nature. A covering for animals. Could be more. I'm not a scientist. Only can go off what my little brain knows. One day may have someone appear here who knows all about this stuff and can fill in the blanks.

Wow Pine!

The lead bird is the strong bird and it takes the pressure off the wounded and the small.
Kinda sounds to me like something Jesus does for us. IF He is our leader..then HE will carry us through rather be it we are small or wounded.
We wounded He takes our hand and guides us into the flock to nurse us back to health. HMMMMMM

ALL Creatures of our Lord and King....Lift up your praise to Him and sing!!!

I found this incredibly interesting.

Proof our God is our creator.

Warning: If you have a quezy tummy don't eat lunch while watching this. Nature can be gross.

My mac-n-cheese all of a sudden doesn't taste so good.

Anyhow hope you give it a watch through. Or at least partial. Lots of animals and interesting facts about them. Some of this is unreal! Yet it's real! Only God can accomplish this.

It just goes to show the huge amount of love God had for His creation. He must really have loved these creatures to design them in such a way to give them everything they needed to survive in their atmosphere.
