Justifying sinful acts

Postby mlg » Thu Jun 29, 2017 9:21 pm

As I write this post, I think of my own personal sins....as I am a sinner saved only by the grace of God. But, the Bible makes clear that we as Christians should do our best to follow God's word and to share the Truth of His word. The Bible also states that those who enjoy their sinful ways and want to continue to sin will twist the Truth to make themselves feel better and to justify their sin:

2 Timothy 4King James Version (KJV)

4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Be weary my friends of those who seek to distort the Truth without scripture to verify what they teach.

In the old testament God gave us 10 commandments...one of which is not to lie and one is not to kill....in God's eyes sin is sin.....He does not weigh sin, like we as mankind weigh sin. In God's eyes there is only one unforgivable sin...that is blasphemy.

Mark 3:28-29King James Version (KJV)

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

I won't sugar coat the Truth....God does not like sin. I personally feel his pain when I sin...the guilt can be instantly overwhelming...and I feel I must run to Him and apologize.

A born again Christian is convicted by the Holy Spirit of their sins. They know sin is wrong and they will accept how much God despises sin, yet how much He forgives them through His grace.

God always leaves a door open when we are faced with the temptation of sin:

I Corinthians 10:13King James Version (KJV)

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Instead of trying to justify sin, it is easier to accept God's way to escape. I pray that I seek His way out always and hope you do also.
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Well written. Thank you.

May the God of grace forgive us when we transgress and sin. Amen.
