Need to ramble....

Sometime after the attacks in America on September 11, 2001, I started building up walls and completely blocked out the outside world. It was too much and I couldn't cope, so kind of just shut out everything except the vitals.

Well....coming out of that comfort zone due to new situations has left me rather shocked. I have a new job and since I am in training, there is much down time. Been perusing the news on the internet to fill it up.

Babies being cooked in microwaves, children kept in three foot high cages, homeless people aren't allowed to be fed, Christians are shut up and shut out while atheists are lauded, God called a "myth", God and Jesus can't be mentioned in a PRAYER (huh?? then what is the point?), sex is mainstream as is poor grammer and language...on and on and on.

Wow, what on earth? It's so overwhelming and horrible. Thinking about shutting it out again, but maybe that's the reason why society has taken such a turn for the worse. Maybe if we were as vocal about our rights for freedom of religion and speech, things could get better.

Idk, still rambling and sorting it out. Jesus is the only one who is making any sense to me and the only one who gives me peace of mind and that can be trusted 100%.

We need us some more Jesus.

Things happen... we can't control those things but we can control our reactions to those things.
There is good news on the internet too, need to look for the positive.... and yes, keep praying.

Your post was interesting and I can really relate to it. I sometimes feel like heading for the mountains myself and shutting myself off.

Firstly, Deetu has provided good advice in that one can also make a point of focusing on the good as a counter-balance to the bad.

Secondly, I'm not sure if it helps at all, but the bible is full of prophecy indicating how depraved-to-the-core this world would become in the end times. One bible verse that is a prime example of this is '2 Timothy 3:1-5'.

So, doesn't sound too flash at all, but maybe one can also take heart by what is said in 'Revelation 21:4', essentially making it clear that the evils of human nature, and the utter suffering it brings about, will become a thing of the past.

Obviously, it could still be a while until God establishes His perfect Kingdom for us. In the meantime, I suggest that you might view the subject of your post as a direct attack from the enemy. It is spiritual warfare, and not only is he responsible for all of the evil that is getting people like us down in the dumps, it is also he that is directly causing us to feel this way by bringing the bad news, reports, etc, right before our eyes.

So if it helps, restrict exposure to certain news outlets, categories of news, whatever... Scan headlines, if it doesn't sound good, don't even begin to read it. If something weighs on your mind, pray to The Lord that he bring a particular situation to a close, ending all of the suffering of the people involved, then ask Him to help you expel the story or whatever completely from your mind.

Anyway, enough from me. I will pray that He bring some sort of closure to you regarding this situation. God bless.

Flute we share a simular spirit. A sensitive one that hurts terribly when we see injustice and pain. I feel for you sis because I know exactly what you are typing about. I cried for 3 days over the microwave situation. Then I got angry and walled out and lashed out.

What comforts me is to humble myself before the Lord and know that He is still on His thrown.

He is in control. Not that he wills these things, but there is a plan and it will be carried out. The righteous will receive glory and the unjust will receive their payment for their evil deeds.

Just pray sis. Pray for this world. And keep reminding yourself that God is still God and He is always a just God, A gentle God, a loving God. He is God and I am not. Which is a good thing, cause I'd screw up a lot! He knows best.

I'm glad you vented. It's good to see you here, posting and sharing. I hope you come back and post more. Your sweet spirit is missed.

Ok, it's been quite a while since I vented. Thank you SO much for responding. I was literally reeling from shock. I mean, you know it's out there happening, but then you keep reading about one thing after another and pretty soon you feel like standing up and shouting "People, keep your hands off the babies!" or something of the sort.

Did the world get turned upside down or maybe we just hear about it more because of the internet? Probably the latter.

Really wish the world would listen to Christians and what we've learned from God. He's laid out some excellent guidelines for us to go by and He gave them to us for our own protection.

Anyway, I'm handling it better now with the advice from here and sort of getting used to the news.

Glad to hear you are getting a better handle on things. People who are sensitive to others emotions have it harder I think. Just remember to release it to Jesus after you pray for them... it's not yours, you get to pray for them, then release it to Jesus.
