The Two Edged Sword
The Powerful, Authoritative Word of God
Chapter 4 - Obedience to the Word
by Diane Jurino

1Peter 4:17 "For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [begin] at us, what shall the end [be] of them that obey not the gospel of God?"

It is the Lord's express will that the Word of God be preached throughout the entire world, so that no one perishes for lack of knowledge in the truth. His words stand as our final authority in all matters. He has given us His input for every area of our lives. His moral absolutes are all fair and beneficial to us. We must know the Word and adhere to it, or we will be condemned in our own ignorance and rebellion.

We have reached the time for universal judgment. The Lord is beginning with His own household of faith. We have had His Word preached to us in all of its power. We must either repent from the heart, believe that Christ is the Son of God and obey all His commandments, or we will go to perdition. There is no way any of us can be saved in our own strength. Our faith must be genuine and our obedience complete.

When we first heard the Gospel, we had the opportunity to learn what God says about righteousness and godliness. He has perfect standards for each of us to achieve. We are without excuse; ours is not a God of compromise. If we fail to obey His Word, we will be excluded from His everlasting Kingdom. Those who are stubborn and rebellious will be strictly judged and banished for all time to the eternal lake of fire.

Salvation is not a matter for our discussion or debate. It is non-negotiable. The Word is specific. We have been given every opportunity to repent of all our sins and accept the truth. Deliberate defiance will be our downfall in the critical days to come. We cannot totally ignore the Word of God and be held innocent of all sin and evil. If we are continually wicked and unrepentant, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

1Thessalonians 2:13 "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

However, if we fully believe the Word of God and modify our lives accordingly, we will receive the free gift of eternal life and all of its many blessings. The choice is ours, and ours alone. We cannot be on the fence in any way. Salvation is an "all or nothing" proposition. Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, there can be no turning back without serious repercussions.

We have made a life-changing decision to believe God's Word and act on it. We put our faith into action by allowing Him to renew our minds and transform our behavior until it becomes godly. We strive to walk in love for Him and for others and keep all of His commandments to us. We present our bodies as living sacrifices in service to Him and to others, so that they can also be set free.

Believers have access to the baptism in the Holy Spirit, so that our lives are forever changed. God's very own Spirit permeates our being, so that we are strengthened in our inner man and able to fulfill our divine destinies as His beloved sons and daughters. We will resume Christ's ministry on this earth where He left off and operate in divine power and authority in all that we say and do.

If we preach the Gospel with zeal and enthusiasm, we will see many souls gathered in the end-time harvest. We will also be able to heal all the sick and afflicted among us, cast out all types of demons and even raise the dead back to life once again. The Word of God that is spoken through us will change the face of the entire earth and positively impact all of its inhabitants in the days to come.

Hebrews 4:2 "For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it]."

Each of us has the personal responsibility to hear the Word of God and study it for our own benefit. The salvation message available in the gospels is powerful for changing our lives as nothing else can. We must sincerely believe in Jesus Christ as the living Word of God, and be born again and baptized in His name. If we have genuine faith in Him, we will be saved to eternal life and all its blessings.

If we are attentive to all that Jesus taught us, we will walk in genuine love for God and for others at all times. We will obey all the commandments and embrace our divine destinies. If we are totally sanctified in the truth, we will be recruited to serve as members of the Body of Christ on this earth. We will preach the Word of God and operate in miracles, signs and wonders that attest to our faith.

However, if we lack faith in God's Word and refuse His offer of eternal life, we will be condemned in our own ignorance and rebellion. We cannot deny Christ as Lord and Savior and remain innocent. The Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword and discerns our thoughts and heart's intent. If we continually sin, we will be permanently punished with all wrongdoers in the eternal lake of fire.

Corruption of the Word of God

Malachi 3:13-14 "Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken [so much] against thee? Ye have said, It [is] vain to serve God: and what profit [is it] that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?"

We dare not corrupt God's Word or oppose it in any way. He is not tolerant of compromise in any of us. We will be held accountable for all that we think, say and do. It is one thing to have evil thoughts, yet quite another issue if we speak them forth and give them power to offend the living God or lead others astray. He will punish all those who deny His Word and encourage men to be disobedient.

The Word of God stands as the final authority in all matters. He expects us to abide by its truth and obey all that it commands us. While it may seem to be a waste of time to follow the Lord and all that He asks of us, there are dire consequences for our disrespect and disregard for His will and His Word. If we are stubborn, rebellious and committed to sin and evil, we will perish in the lake of fire.

Our eternal fate depends on our willingness and obedience to do all that God's Word requires of us and to teach others to do the same. We cannot add or subtract from the Gospel message without incurring serious repercussions. We must repent of all our sin; believe in the Lord, Jesus Christ; walk in love for God and others; and obey all of the commandments to receive all the blessings of eternal life.

Jeremiah 23:36 "And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God."

We cannot twist or distort the Word of God in any way, without facing eternal condemnation and punishment for our sin. We have been given a sacred charge to guard our words and make certain that they line up with those of almighty God. His Word is immutable and unchanging. It stands alone as the ultimate authority in all matters. We have to remember that He is God and His standards are perfect.

Many false teachers of the Gospel will arise in the critical days to come. They will attempt to lead even the elect astray with enticing words and flattering lips. Their motives are usually power and greed. They care nothing for those they mislead; they are simply "playing church" so that they gain unfair advantage over God's people. We should expose their lies to the truth of God's Word, before innocent souls are lost.

Anyone who excuses sin or purports to have an inside track with almighty God should be circumspect. Those who water down the Gospel message to suit their own selfish ends should be avoided at all costs. Individuals who glorify themselves rather than almighty God must be gagged and bound in the spirit realm, so that they can no longer lead others astray. God's Word should never be contaminated in any fashion.

We cannot ever pervert what God calls sacred or we will suffer dire consequences. His Word is powerful for disclosing lies and deception. If men deliberately manipulate the Word of God they will be held strictly accountable. We are not to add or subtract from what God instructs us to share with others. We dare not alter what God has said or we will be severely judged and permanently punished in the eternal lake of fire.

Matthew 12:34 "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."

Those who corrupt the inviolable Word of God always have their own selfish agendas. Their minds and hearts are reprobate and their words always follow suit. They are incapable of speaking the truth, because they are so steeped in duplicity that it eludes them. The Word of God is first peaceable, but it is also a two-edged sword that cuts right to the truth of every matter.

If an individual claims to know and love God, he will also show Him the deference and respect that He deserves. A true minister of the Gospel will never dream of distorting God's Word for fear of permanent consequences. Anyone who corrupts the truth and leads others to perdition will be held strictly accountable in the impending judgment that is coming on this earth.

Jesus Christ will soon return to us and take vengeance on all of His enemies. He will vindicate those who have been righteous and punish all wrongdoers in the eternal lake of fire. There will be no tolerance for sin or compromise of any kind. All wickedness will soon be a thing of the past. Only those who love and obey the Word will ever enter into the Kingdom of God.

Each of us has the personal responsibility to test what we hear to make certain that it lines up with the written Word of God in the Bible. The spoken and written Word are never supposed to be in conflict with one another. If we pray and ask the Lord for spiritual discernment, He will reveal the truth to us Himself. He protects and defends His people from all defilement.

Disobedience to the Word

Jeremiah 6:10 "To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear [is] uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it."

Mankind was created in the very image and likeness of almighty God Himself. However, we must train our human minds to think like the Lord thinks. His Word provides us with eternal redemption and outlines all that we need to know to be His righteous and mature sons and daughters. He even sends His Holy Spirit to aid us in our understanding; convict us of sin; and strengthen us in our spiritual walk.

The Lord is calling out to all of mankind and challenging them to believe His Word. There are many of us who will respond; be touched sufficiently by His love to heed His instruction; and be saved to eternal life as a result. But there will also be some who steadfastly refuse the truth and they will be eternally condemned. We cannot ignore God's voice; disobey what He tells us; and expect to be blessed by Him.

The Word of God is powerful and all consuming. It stands as the final authority in all matters. We must always give it the deference and respect that it deserves. Those who deliberately defy God's Word will go to perdition. They will be punished in the lake of fire for all of eternity for their ignorance and rebellion.

We cannot close our ears and our hearts to what God has to say or we will be forever sorry.

Psalm 119:158 "I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word."

Every man, woman and child on the face of the earth has an equal opportunity to hear and believe the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Gospel is being preached in every nation of the world. There is no excuse why any of us should perish for lack of knowledge. God's Word is made readily available to each and every one of us, but we must believe it to receive.

Eternal life is a free gift to all men who repent of their sins and embrace the truth. There are no gimmicks involved, nor strings attached to the Gospel. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our lives are dramatically improved. We start to think like He thinks, and our behavior evolves until it imitates His very own. We learn to walk in love and be obedient to all that He asks of us.

We keep all of the commandments and strive for holiness in all that we think, say and do. We follow all of the Lord's guidance and direction, and embrace our divine destinies. We sanctify ourselves continually, so that we can be given an anointing in divine power and authority to rescue others. We will challenge all men to believe the truth and obey the Word of almighty God in its entirety.

If they are willing and obedient, things will go well with them. However, if they deny the Word of God and reject it, they will go to perdition. There is nothing that any of us can do for those who are ignorant and rebellious. Despite our prayers on their behalf and all of our evangelistic efforts, they will end up being punished. Their fate is to be in perpetual torment in the lake of fire.

1Samuel 12:15 "But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as [it was] against your fathers."

The Lord is infinitely patient with all of us, but He will not tolerate deliberate disobedience to His Word. We have His mercy and grace in our time of need and He is ever faithful to forgive us of our sins, if we repent from the heart and turn towards the truth. There is no reason why any of us should be destroyed for all eternity, unless we purposely choose to be ignorant and rebellious.

If we fail to hear God's Word and comprehend it, we will be lost in darkness and deception. We can only be saved through a sincere faith in Jesus Christ and total obedience to all His commandments. If we continue to resist the Lord and all of His efforts to reach us, He will have no choice but to leave us to our own devices. He will sadly, but surely, punish us for our transgression.

Disobedience to the Word of God brings serious consequences to our lives. We will not be blessed as we should be, and we will be subject to the curse of the law. Sin is sin and its ultimate payback is death. We will incur spiritual death for our rebellion and be ostracized from our God. We will not inherit eternal life and all its benefits if we persist in lawlessness and disbelief of the Word.

Consequences for Disobedience

Numbers 15:31 "Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity [shall be] upon him."

Very soon now, the Lord will gather all the faithful into the everlasting Kingdom of God on this earth. It will be a veritable paradise for all those who are privileged to dwell there. However, those who have disobeyed His Word and deliberately sinned will be banished to the eternal lake of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth by all those who are sentenced to its punishment.

God will never permit any of us to break His commandments and get away with it. Sin is sin, and He will enforce its penalty of death to the letter. Those who disobey God's Word will be excluded from His holy presence. They will be in torment for all of eternity because they refused to abide by His moral absolutes. They should have repented of their sins and invoked the Lord's mercy and grace.

He is always faithful to hear our prayers of repentance and forgive us of our sins. But very soon now, it will be too late to alter our fate. We must change our ways now, so that we can be saved to eternal life and receive all its blessings. If we are continually stubborn and rebellious, the Lord will have no choice but to abandon us to our sinful nature. He will permit us to be destroyed by our iniquity.

Deuteronomy 28:45 "Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:"

The Lord is not obligated to provide for a people that defy Him or go against His Word in any way. We cannot break covenant with Him and expect Him to excuse our bad behavior or make concessions for our sinfulness. Our God has absolute moral standards that we must always obey. His commandments are not ever negotiable, nor is the Word of God subject to dispute and debate.

When we sin and transgress God's laws we are in direct opposition to His Word, and we will be cursed instead of blessed in all that we do. We make the sacrifice of Christ to no avail, and we face serious punishment for our disobedience. The Lord will not prosper us or protect us if we are outside of His will for our lives. The ultimate penalty for sin is death – plain and simple.

We have an all-important decision to make. Will we obey the truth of God's Word or be damned for all of eternity? There is no middle ground possible. Very soon now, it will be too late to repent of all our sins and change our fate. We have to accept Christ as Lord and Savior; obey God's Word in its entirety; and abide by all the commandments or be banished to the eternal lake of fire.

Zechariah 7:11-13 "But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Yea, they made their hearts [as] an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. Therefore it is come to pass, [that] as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:"

The Lord is infinitely patient, merciful and compassionate to the human condition, but He has no tolerance for deliberate sin and evil. To refuse His input to our lives is a huge mistake. He has provided us with reproof and correction, so that we can be abundantly blessed, as He desires. He takes no satisfaction in the death of the wicked. It grieves the Lord to lose any of His beloved children, but we leave Him no recourse if we are disobedient to all that He tells us in His Word.

Our stubbornness and rebellion will be our downfall every time. We cannot deny the truth or break God's commandments and hope to be righteous in His eyes. He is not a God of compromise. He has absolute, moral standards that we must all follow if we wish to remain in right standing with Him. If we repent of our sins and believe in His Son, we will be saved from eternal condemnation. We must also believe the Word and act on it in order to protect our righteousness.

We will incur the wrath of almighty God if we do not pay attention to His words and abide by them. He will be compelled to turn His back on us and allow us to go to perdition. We cannot glorify sin and evil and refuse to repent, or we will be damned for all time. No one who is committed to wickedness will ever enter in to the everlasting Kingdom of God. The Word of God will ultimately judge us for our iniquity; only the uncompromisingly righteous will dwell with God.

Repentance and Forgiveness Through the Word

Psalm 38:18 "For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin."

All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. None of us can say that we are righteous in our own strength. We need the Blood of Jesus Christ to wash us clean from all of our iniquity and to restore us to right standing with our God. If we study the Word and meditate on what it has to say, we will discover numerous examples of men's repentance from their sin and the Lord's subsequent forgiveness.

We must confront our own sinful nature and repent of all wrongdoing in order to be forgiven. We cannot simply ignore our transgression and hope that it will fade away. The Lord sees our every thought, word and action. Nothing is hidden from Him that will not be revealed in due time. Sin is sin, and it requires payback. Our God is fair and just, but He always expects us to repent and renounce all our sin.

If we will be totally honest and openly confess our sins, the Lord will be quick to forgive us. He will even blot our transgression from His memory, the Bible tells us. We are His beloved children and He wants nothing more than an intimate relationship with us. However, any sin in our lives will interfere with that. We must be diligent to remain sin free at all times if we wish to be in close fellowship with God.

Romans 2:4 "Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"

God is love and everything that He requires of us is for our own benefit. He wants us to be in right standing with Him at all times, so that He can bless our lives, as He desires. He is infinitely patient with us and understands our human tendency to make mistakes. The Blood of Jesus Christ covers us for all of ours sins – past, present and future – but it is never an excuse for us to deliberately transgress God's law.

If we should miss the mark after receiving our salvation, we must repent from the heart and confess our sin, so that the Lord can forgive us once again. Sin hurts God and others, and we should renounce it for all time. We should strive for holiness and perfection in our walk with God and remember how good He is to His people. If we consider all that He does for us, we will be less inclined to offend Him in any way.

So too, we have the godly example of Jesus Christ that we can emulate. He laid down His deity when He came to this earth and became one of us. Jesus was completely human, and He served as our role model for righteousness. He was totally sinless and perfectly obedient in every way. If we walk in love and keep all the commandments, just as He did, we can be assured that we will be righteous and godly at all times.

1John 1:9-10 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

If we really know and understand the Word of God and give it first place in our lives, we will strive to be totally obedient in all that we think, say and do. We will adhere to all of its precepts, walk in love and keep all of God's commandments to us. We should realize that we cannot ever be blessed, unless we obey the Word and protect our right standing with almighty God.

He is holy and perfect, but He can never be in an intimate relationship with anyone who is deliberately wicked and rebellious. No evil can abide in His presence. If we say we have not sinned, we make God a liar. His Word tells us that all of mankind has inherited iniquity from Adam, and we require salvation from our sins. None of us is ever righteous in our own strength.

We all require the Blood of Jesus Christ to atone for our sinfulness. Through our faith in Him, we are washed clean of all our defilement and restored to right standing with God. He now views us as His very own sons and daughters. We are even seated with Christ in heavenly places at the right hand of God Himself and joint heirs to all the promises for righteousness.

If we should fall short of His glory and make mistakes, we must confront our transgression, repent of all wrongdoing, and ask for His forgiveness again. He is ever merciful and compassionate to us, and will always acknowledge our confession. The Lord gives us grace or unmerited favor in all that we do. If we humble ourselves before Him, He will be faithful to hear us.

2Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

We are a people after the Lord's very own heart, if we have accepted His Son, Jesus Christ, as our personal Lord and Savior. We have full remission from all of our sins and we are restored to right standing with God. However we must diligently protect our righteousness at all times. We should humble ourselves and pray, so that we are delivered from all evil and remain sin free.

We have divine destinies as the sons and daughters of almighty God. We must be sanctified of all carnality and selfish soul ambitions, so that we can optimally serve the Lord in the critical days that lie ahead. We cannot be worldly and expect to impact the lives of others. We will have to be godly role models and teach all men how to walk in love and obey all of the commandments.

We must strive for holiness and perfection in our relationship with God and renounce our sin for all time. We cannot compromise our righteousness and be effective in leading others to the truth. We must demonstrate the inherent power of the Gospel, so that others can be saved to eternal life, as we have been. We will preach the Word and save many souls by our testimony.

We will see the lives of men, women and children in every nation of the world impacted. Everyone will have an equal opportunity to be saved to eternal life and enter into the everlasting Kingdom of God. We will teach them God's way of doing things and bring peace, order and stability to all of our affairs. We will change the fate of the entire earth according to the Word of God.

Ordering Our Steps by the Word

Psalm 119:105 "Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

The Word of almighty God is always profitable for our reproof, instruction, guidance and direction. It lights our path and dispels all darkness and deception that threatens to overtake us. It convicts us of sin and encourages us to pursue holiness and perfection in our walk with God. The Bible is a powerhouse of divine wisdom that we can consult to be successful in every area of our lives.

The Lord has addressed every conceivable topic that we may find practical and relevant. His Word is the final authority in all matters. If we need His advice regarding any spiritual or temporal issues, He is always able to provide it in abundance. He also gives us increased understanding, so that we can apply what He teaches us to our own situations and circumstances and prevail in them.

Even the most serious problems and complex challenges can be solved by studying God's Word for the right answers. Our heavenly Father is infinitely wise and resourceful. He will never leave us or forsake us, if we come to Him. He will give us exactly what we require to overcome all of our obstacles. He delights in providing for His children, and is our total source for all that we need.

Isaiah 30:21 "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."

The Lord has given us His commandments to order our steps in Him, and He is always faithful to reward us for our obedience to His Word. He prepares us in advance when we face overwhelming odds that threaten to harm or deter us. We will receive supernatural insight that will simplify all the perplexities that we face. He will show us in every instance, exactly what we need to succeed.

If we will take the time and effort to develop a close, personal relationship with our God through prayer, meditation and diligent study of His Word, we will acquire His very own wisdom and understanding. We will become very sensitive to His voice and avoid many pitfalls. That will equip us to deal with any challenge and be victorious in this world and in the Kingdom to come.

The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord, and He will be with us in all that we undertake. We can receive direct revelation through the power of His Holy Spirit that will strengthen us in our spirit man. His guidance and direction are available to all those who seek it. We need never be overcome by any obstacles. God is able to lift us up, so that we excel in all that we do.

Jeremiah 7:23 "But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you."

Our heavenly Father wants to nurture and protect us from all harm. He has established His law, so that there is peace, order and stability in this world. If we walk in His ways, we will always prosper and succeed. God's way of doing things is far superior to ours in every way. He always knows the end from the beginning, and has only our welfare and security in mind.

It is vital that we develop and maintain close fellowship with the Lord. He is always approachable and takes an avid interest in all the details of our lives. There was never meant to be a separation between God and man. We have access to the throne of grace at any time and for any reason. If we diligently seek the Lord, He will respond favorably to all of our requests.

If we are obedient to all of the commandments and walk in love, as we have been instructed, our God will be with us in all of our endeavors. He rewards righteousness and will never permit us to fail. He delights in the success of His people and is glorified when we prevail in all of our situations and circumstances. He is the power behind every victory that we experience in this life.

Obedience to the Word of God

Deuteronomy 17:19 "And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:"

The Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We must always have a reverent fear of almighty God; He is capable of both creation and destruction. If we show Him deference and respect, He will bless us for our devotion. We must also give His Word the prominence that it deserves. It is the Lord's will that we receive all that we need in the way of instruction from Him.

If we study the Word of God in all of its wisdom, we will be successful in this world and in the Kingdom to come. We should apply it to our daily lives, to see the fruit that it produces. If we obey all of the Lord's commandments and walk in love, as we have been taught, things will go well with us. However, if we purposely transgress God's law, we will perish in our very own ignorance and rebellion.

We have to seek God's input to our lives, so that we can be successful in all of our endeavors. We can never go it alone in this world without serious consequences. Man was created to be in intimate fellowship with God and to remain connected to Him. He is the source of all good things and He is more than willing to provide for us. The Word says that He will never abandon us if we reach out to Him.

Proverbs 4:4 "He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live."

The Lord is always ready, willing and able to lead and guide His people, so that we prosper in all that we do. He takes particular delight in the fact that we want and need His advice. He will never let us down; we can always rely on His Word to provide all the wisdom and revelation that we need to succeed in this life. His Holy Spirit will enable us to process what He teaches us and understand His precepts. The Lord never tries to hide the truth from us; He is ever faithful to share it with His people.

We can rely on God's Word to give us added insight and increased perception into His way of thinking and doing things. Our human intelligence will always fall dramatically short of what we actually require to solve our most complex problems. The supernatural ability that we need to overcome the world, our flesh and the devil can only be derived from a diligent study and obedience to the Word of God. If we are eager for divine knowledge, the Lord will never leave us ashamed or empty-handed.

It is critical that we really know the Word; memorize relevant chapters and verses; and apply it to our daily lives, if we wish to see positive results manifest in our situations and circumstances. Every word of almighty God brings life and light to those who love it and guard it with all their hearts. It orders our steps, so that we are in the will of God for our lives. We must be attentive to all that the Lord tells us, so we can be victorious in all that we think, say and do now and in the Kingdom to come.

John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."

We can never disobey any of the commandments, nor compromise our love walk in any way. If we have been born again and saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ, then we must protect our righteousness at all costs. The best way to do that is through consistent study and implementation of God's Word in our daily lives. It serves as a reminder of all the basic tenets of our faith.

God is love, and those who wish to remain in intimate relationship with Him must be uncompromisingly loving at all times. We must love the Lord our God with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength and love others, as we love ourselves. All of the commandments are based on these two principles. We cannot step out of love, regardless of the provocation we incur.

We should be at peace with God and with all men, wherever possible. We cannot ever be in strife and division with one another and hope to please God. He insists that we treat others with fairness, dignity and respect, just as we would like to be treated. He expects us to forgive and forget all wrongs done to us, and He will be quick to forgive us when we make mistakes.

God's Word is His Will for Us

Exodus 19:5 "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine:"

God's Word is His express will for all of mankind. He has given us all that we need to be saved to eternal life and continually righteous in His eyes. It is the Lord's heart-felt desire to nurture and protect us at all times, as He fully intended from the very creation itself. If we heed His voice and obey all that God asks, He will keep His covenant of peace with us and shower us with blessings.

If we are totally righteous at all times and obey all of the Lord's commandments, we will soon inherit the everlasting Kingdom of God when it comes to this earth. We will no longer have to struggle to have all our needs met. The Lord will provide us with all the wealth that the vast universe has to offer. We will have peace and prosperity, safety and security, joy and freedom for all eternity.

When Christ returns, He will change these mortal bodies into glorious, resurrection forms like His very own. We will become impervious to disease, decay and death and see our offspring for all generations to come. The Lord will take vengeance on all our enemies and restore all that has been taken from us. He will protect us from all harm and make certain that we are happy and content.

Deuteronomy 5:31 "But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do [them] in the land which I give them to possess it."

The Lord has a perfect plan in place for the redemption of all mankind. He has sent His Son to save us from all of our sins and restore our right standing with Him. There is no longer a separation between us. We are His very own sons and daughters if we have faith and walk in His ways. We have received the gift of eternal life, and we will one day dwell in His awesome presence.

But first, we have a divine commission to fulfill as the Body of Christ. We must assist the Lord in ushering in His Kingdom rule and reign. We have to restore peace, order and stability to the earth and make certain that we prepare the hearts of all mankind to receive their King. If we fail to do what Christ asks, vital work will remain undone and many souls will be lost to eternal punishment.

Our part is to remain sin free and walk in uncompromised love. We should also present our bodies as living sacrifices to God, so that we can optimally serve Him and His people. There are many who will perish in their bondage to sin and evil unless the Gospel of the Kingdom of God is preached to them. We should share our faith with others, so that they can be saved as we are.

We have eternal callings as the sons and daughters of almighty God. We cannot allow fear, doubt or unbelief to discourage us in any way. We have to cast down all imaginations that would deter and detain us from ushering in the Kingdom of God to the earth. It is not the Lord's will that anyone perish. We must make salvation available to every race, tongue and nation of the world.

Isaiah 60:2 "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee."

In the critical days that lie ahead, spiritual darkness will cover the entire earth. God's people have to be fully prepared in His Word, so that we can be light and salt to those who are still lost. We must share the Word of God in all of its power with every man, woman and child in every nation of the world. We will offer salvation to all those who are willing to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord.

The full end-time harvest of souls will be gathered in its entirety. All those who are receptive will be converted, saved and baptized in Jesus' name. We will heal the sick, cast our demons and even raise the dead to demonstrate that our God is still in charge. We will destroy all evil by overcoming it with good. The Kingdom of God will be ushered in with divine power and authority.

We will challenge all world governments to make certain that they treat men with fairness, dignity and respect. We will eliminate all war, violence and conflict and establish peace, order and stability on the earth. There will be no more poverty and lack. The wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous, the Word tells us. We will share all the resources of the universe with one another.

All of creation is waiting for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God, so that we can restore it to its original beauty and balance. We will command harmony in all plants and animals and speak to the climate, so it is always temperate and predictable. There will be no more predatory activities, nor natural disasters that cause devastation and destruction to the earth and all of its inhabitants.

Rewards for Obedience

Isaiah 1:19 "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:"

We must always give the Word of almighty God the reverence, deference and respect that it deserves. We have to obey all that it tells us, and guide our lives according to its precepts. We cannot corrupt or disobey God's words in any way without fear of dire consequences. The Word of God serves as His perfect and express will for all mankind and it is His instruction manual for righteousness and godliness.

If we are diligent to do all that the Lord asks of us, we will be continually righteous and eligible to enter into His everlasting Kingdom. Very soon now, He will gather us to Himself for all time. He will provide all of our needs in abundance and share all the wealth of the universe with His beloved children. The Lord will actually come and dwell with men on this earth, and we will thrive in His very presence.

Jesus Christ will take vengeance on all of our enemies and restore all that has been taken from us over the years. He will bind Satan and all of his minions in the bottomless pit, so that we are no longer held in bondage to temptation and sin. He will change our mortal bodies into new, glorious, resurrection forms that are impervious to disease and death. We will live forever as sons and daughters of God.

The Kingdom of God will make all of our earthly experiences pale in comparison. It will be idyllic – a literal paradise on the earth for both God and man. All men will abide in love, peace and unity, and even fellowship with angels. There will no longer be a separation between God and man. We will worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth and celebrate all of His sabbaths and feast days with joy in our hearts.

Deuteronomy 4:40 "Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong [thy] days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever."

The Lord is eminently just and fair. If we keep all of His commandments and walk in love, as His Word instructs us, we will see days of heaven on the earth now and in the Kingdom of God to come. He will protect us from all harm and amply provide for us, so that we are continually blessed beyond all of our expectations. The Lord is ever faithful to keep His promises, but obedience to His law is vital.

We have a covenant relationship with our Creator that is dependent on our willingness to abide by His moral standards at all times. We can never disregard God's commands to us without serious repercussions. Sin is sin, and it requires payback. If we are deliberately disobedient, we place ourselves back under the curse. Our welfare and that of our children is contingent on our full cooperation with the Lord.

Our divine destinies require that we serve almighty God and His people at all times. We are future kings and priests and we must walk in a full anointing of Jesus Christ's very own power and authority. We will preach the Gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons and even raise the dead back to life. We will tear down all demonic strongholds that impede our progress and usher in the everlasting Kingdom of God.

Job 36:11 "If they obey and serve [him], they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures."

We will demonstrate the very love, mercy and compassion of almighty God Himself to the entire human race.

They will know of a certainty that God loves them and desires their companionship. We will make His Word alive and real to them, so that they are never without guidance and instruction in righteousness.

We will teach all of mankind to obey all of God's laws and walk in love for Him and for one another.

All men will learn to dwell in peace and unity as brothers and sisters, or run the risk of expulsion from God's holy presence. There will be no more wars, violence or bloodshed on this earth. All poverty and lack will be things of the past. All wickedness and defilement will be banished from the Kingdom. Only those who are uncompromisingly righteous and obedient will inherit eternal life and all of its benefits.

Those of us who are faithful to serve the Lord in implementing His eternal redemption plan, will be eternally blessed and receive generous rewards in the Kingdom of God. We will share in Christ's very own honor and glory. He will appoint us as kings and priests, and we will judge all men and even angels. We will have the heathen for our inheritance and rule and reign with Him over all the nations of the world.

The Lord will boast of us to all creation as His very own sons and daughters and make our names a praise on the earth. All men will look up to us and be grateful for our efforts on their behalf. The Lord will confer divine power and authority on us. We will be capable rulers, apt teachers and just judges. We will be a people called by His glorious name, and enjoy an intimate relationship with Him for all of eternity.
