We’ve talked before about how you must be as a child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Now, some of you may have a little trouble with that still, so here’s yet another point of view. The Lord finds children so precious and pure, and wants us all to be that way, so what do you do? You’re not a child and you can’t turn back time so the answer is you must be born again.

The Apostle Paul said in Colossians 2:20-3:4, that when you’re born again your old self dies and your new person is not subject to carnal laws (human nature). He says touch not; taste not; handle not man’s ways. You don’t want to do things that Christ wouldn’t do. In other words, you become Christ-like.

By being born again, you’re starting over with a clean slate. You’re adopted into the Lord’s family anew. Being born again and becoming a Christian means you become an heir with Christ. How about that? You’re not gonna inherit money or fame or anything like that. You inherit everlasting life!

How many times have you wished you could redo something again that you did in the past, only, knowing what you know now? Well, you have the opportunity to do just that! In fact, you can start your entire life over again! When you become a Christian, you don’t think the way you used to think. You don’t do the things you used to do. You don’t want the things you used to want. You don’t feel the way you used to feel. You become a different person. You’re not rewinding your life, you’re starting a new one!

There was a man who belonged to the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, who was a ruler of the Jews. He came to Jesus at night time and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that you’re a teacher from God, because no man can do the miracles that you do unless God is with him.

Jesus replied to Nicodemus, Truly I tell you, Unless a man is born again (from above), he can’t see the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus asked (and you may still be wondering too), How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born? Jesus said, Unless a man be born of water (adopted as a child of God into His family) and of the Spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of God. (Jesus was born of the Spirit, as you know, and when you’re reborn, you are a child of the Spirit . . . Which is God).

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Don’t be surprised that I said, You must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you can’t tell where it comes from or where it goes. That’s how it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

So now, when you’re born again, you not only get a second chance at life, but you get everlasting life as well!

Jesus continued, Because God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world, through Him, might be saved. Whoever believes in Him isn’t judged, but whoever doesn’t believe is judged already because he hasn’t believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment: That light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Everyone that does evil, hates the light, for fear that his deeds will be examined. But whoever lives righteously comes to the light, so his deeds may be made clear that they’re of God.
