WHAT
DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY?
The
intent of this study is to simply answer this question.
I want
to begin by saying that I am nobody's judge. I seek not to
condemn those who are homosexual, as I am no man's judge.
I seek
only to share the TRUTH according to the Word of God and to
allow those who have chosen this lifestyle to be able to
determine for themselves what they will choose to believe.
Before we
begin this search for TRUTH ... I wanna shed some light on
why many who have chosen the homosexual lifestyle are
choosing to turn their back on Christianity ...
Homosexuality is a topic that most people, who are not
homosexual, are very uncomfortable with and are reluctant to
discuss it.
In fact, most
that are approached
with this topic, immediately put up armor, as if they could
"catch" homosexuality ...
As if it was some sort
of "disease" ...
Then there are the RELIGIOUS souls who are quick to reveal
that Bible says that homosexuality is a sin and jump into
CONDEMNATION mode. These RELIGIOUS men and women believe
that they have been saved from their past life of sin, by
the Grace of God ... Yet, choose to spend much of their time
going from place to place seeking sinners, just to tell them
how bad they are and absolutely adore judging them by
quoting every law they can find.
However, the Bible
also speaks of other sins that many of us have committed
and/or ARE committing in our own lives that are just as much
a sin as Homosexuality, according to the Word of God.
So the question becomes ...
At what point does sin
become enough to condemn another?
Is not sin ... Sin?
Do we not all sin in one way or another?
The answer according
to the Word of God is YES.
Even AFTER we become
Christians ...
In fact, many of these
RELIGIOUS souls that seek to judge others will admit that
they committed the same sins in their past, but are now
older and do not commit THAT particular sin anymore for
various reasons, so they feel they are saved.
Not
only homosexuality, but fornication (Sex outside of
marriage) is a sin as well. Have these RELIGIOUS souls who
are judging those who chose the homosexual lifestyle ever
fornicated? If so, how do they feel the right to judge
others for something that is equally as bad in God's eyes?
Why is it that they feel they are forgiven cuz it was in
THEIR past, but God's children, who are still lost in the
darkness, need to be condemned by the laws which they were
freed from by God's Grace?
Where is this magical "sin stopwatch" that works only in the
favor of the one who has chosen to stop doing a particular
sin so they have the right to judge others? Did Grace end on
the day that THEY chose to stop that particular sin?
And let us be honest ...
Meanwhile ... These
RELIGIOUS judges are still a sinner, but have absolutely no
problem with seeking out others to judge them for sinning.
Silly wabbits ...
When confronted with another's sin ... One should remember
their own sin and what judgment you pass on them ... WILL
come back on you as it is written.
Jesus said:

Matthew 7:2
For with what
judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete,
it shall be measured to you again.
|
After all ... Fair is
fair.
So
what do we do when we are confronted by another who is not
living in accordance with God's Word and they ask us what
TRUTH is? Just remain silent when we know the TRUTH?
GOD
FORBID
But consider this ... What if you chose to teach others of
Grace, Forgiveness and the Love of our Lord and allow them
to CHOOSE to accept the TRUTH out of LOVE for the Lord who
loved them so very much that He CHOSE to die for them
instead out of fear of condemnation.
Maybe they will CHOOSE
Him.
Cuz, let's be real ... Nobody is gonna change cuz some HUMAN
is condemning em. This will only bring forth debate and
division.
Ponder on this ... If you had a husband or wife and you only
stayed outta OBLIGATION, LAW and FEAR ... You would sneak
around and do wrong despite their constant quoting of law.
This
same principle applies to our relationship with God and mankind
proved this already.
In
fact, this is the reason God gave His only Son to save us.
Mankind broke the Old
Covenant and God promised to create a
New Covenant
based on LOVE.

Jeremiah
31:31-34
Behold, the days come,
saith the LORD, that I will make a New Covenant with the house
of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the
covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took
them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which
my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
But this shall be the Covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I
will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their
hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And
they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man
his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me,
from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the
LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember
their sin no more. |
This
was done with JESUS.
He
brought in the New Covenant (New Testament)
God
found FAULT with the Old Covenant ...

Hebrews 8:6-10
But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by
how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant,
which was
established upon better
promises. For
if that first covenant had been faultless, then should
no place have been sought for the second. For
finding fault with them,
He saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when
I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah: Not according to the
covenant that I made with their fathers in the day
when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the
land of Egypt; because they continued not in my
covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For
this is the covenant that I will make with the house
of Israel after those days, saith the Lord;
I will put my laws into their
mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to
them a God, and they shall be to me a people: |
If a relationship had
its foundation based on mutual LOVE ...
You would not want or need to break the laws.
So ... To those who seek to judge others, keep this TRUTH in
mind ...
We are here to bring
IN the sheep, NOT keep em OUT and we are to help them
overcome ONE DAY AT A TIME ... Just as we are allowed to do.
DESPITE the sin they are caught up in.
WITH
THAT BEING SAID ...
LET US
GET ON WITH OUR SEARCH FOR TRUTH.
HOMOSEXUALITY IS BECOMING VERY POPULAR.
Did
you know that approximately 10% of the population is
homosexual? THAT IS ONE OUT OF EVERY TEN PEOPLE. It is
becoming commonplace. The news, television, movies, books
etc. are filled with celebrities that are openly "gay" ...
Most have a
live and let live attitude nowadays so this lifestyle is
becoming normal. Even laws are being changed to adapt to the
"gay" community as politicians seek their votes.
Did
you know that there are Christian gays?
AGAIN
... I am nobody's judge.
I seek not to condemn those who are homosexual, as I am no
man's judge.
BUT ... If a
soul claims to be Christian and approaches me with the
question ...
WHAT DOES IT
SAY IN THE BIBLE ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY
I am gonna
share TRUTH.
SO,
LET US LOOK INTO GOD'S WORD TO SEE WHAT IS SHARED ABOUT
HOMOSEXUALITY.
The
Bible is CLEAR that God is against homosexuality.
Now, I
have heard the defense that homosexuality laws are one of
those issues that was warned against in the Old Testament,
and proudly claim that there isn't anything in the New
Testament that speaks against homosexuality.
THAT
IS JUST NOT TRUTH ...
Let's
begin our search for TRUTH with the Old Testament, so that
we can get an idea of our Father's thoughts on Homosexuality
from the beginning and go from there ...

Genesis 18:20-21
And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and
Gomorrah is great, and because
their sin is very grievous;
I will go down now, and see whether they have done
altogether according to the cry of it, which is come
unto me; and if not, I will know. |
Let me explain this story a lil better so you'll get the
idea of just how much the Lord abhors homosexuality.
God hears the cries of
those in Sodom and Gomorrah ... He sends two angels to
determine if there are any worthy as to salvage the city.
When Lot sees these two Angels (which he deemed as men) ...
Obviously strangers, coming into the city, Lot, being a
righteous person feels an urgency to protect them, as was
the tradition of his people.
So, he gets up to meet
them and invites them to his house to stay the night. The
Angels turn down the offer and say that they’ll remain in
the street all night. Lot, having lived in the city for some
time and knowing about the evil of the place, pleads with
them to reconsider. See ... In Sodom and Gomorrah, murder,
rape and homosexuality were commonplace.
The Angels accept his
offer and Lot makes them a feast. But, before they all turn
in for the night, the wicked men of the city surround the
house and call out to Lot, asking him where the men are that
went into his home, and demanding Lot to send them outside
so they could defile (have sex with) them.
Lot goes
outside and hurriedly shuts the door behind him to try and
resolve the issue. He says to these men, Please, I beg you,
don’t do such wickedness. Then he says, Listen, I have two
virgin daughters, let me bring them out to you and do to
them what you think is right, but don’t harm these men,
that’s why they’re under the protection of my roof.
Now that's
odd huh? Strange as it may seem, in the Jewish customs, it
was very honorable to put the safety and well being of total
strangers even before your own family, and for Lot to offer
his daughters in order to protect the Angels was an act of
righteousness.
The men of
the city shouted and mocked Lot, saying, You aren’t even
from here, you’re a stranger yourself and you want to be a
judge? Now we’ll deal worse with you than with those
two. The men of the city came close to breaking in the door,
so the Angels reached out and pulled Lot back into the house
with them. The Angels then struck all the men outside with
blindness, so that they couldn’t even find the door to Lot's
house.
The Angels
told Lot that if he had any loved ones in the city, to get
them out, because the Lord had heard how loud the cry is
that comes from Sodom and Gomorrah, and He has sent these
two Angels to destroy it as to stop the tears.

Genesis 19:24
Then the LORD
rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire
from the LORD out of heaven; |
As
you see ... The Lord totally destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah
with fire.
I
share this story, because I believe that it is important to
point out that this event occurred BEFORE the laws of the
Old Testament were given to Moses. So God disliked
Homosexuality BEFORE the law against homosexuality was given
to the Israelites by Moses.

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it
is abomination. |
Ahhhhhhhhh, but wait ...
Some
Christians who seek to defend homosexuality, did say it was
ONLY in the Old Testament, suggesting that the New Covenant
(New Testament) did not say that it was wrong.
For
those of you who do not believe there is anything in the
NEW TESTAMENT that speaks against homosexuality, I'd
like to present to you with these scriptures to consider:

Romans 1:26-32
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:
for even their
women did change the natural use into that which is
against nature:
And likewise
also the men,
leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust
one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and
receiving in themselves that recompence of their error
which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their
knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to
do those things which are not convenient; Being filled
with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder,
debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud,
boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to
parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without
natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the
judgment of God, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have
pleasure in them that do them. |
Pretty clear huh?
Now,
there is another defense for female and female
homosexuality. The defense theory suggests that God was only
talking about men with men.
Again, the Bible is clear.

Romans 1:26-27
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:

which is against nature:
And likewise
also the men
....... |
This
reveals clearly it is both gender's homosexuality that the
Bible is against.
Again
... I seek not to judge, but rather to make those who have
created excuses and defenses in their mind and heart and
deem it as being acceptable to our Father, aware that ... IT
IS NOT.
This brings
us to WHY?
Why do souls
choose to become involved in a homosexual relationship?
Some grew up
in a homosexual home or environment.
Some were
sought out by homosexual predators and it became habit.
Some
were hurt by someone from the opposite gender and were
consoled by someone that was in that lifestyle.
Others were
lured in by curiosity from whispers of friends and
television and now the Internet.
It is
IMPOSSIBLE to watch ONE hour of television without seeing a
promotion of one sort of the other of SEX. Those who control
the media allow this.
It is
brainwashing our children and even us. It plants seeds that
grow as we sleep and we awake with thoughts that ARE NOT
OURS. Paul explains well how the Original sin works within
us, works as a magnet to day to day lures and we find
ourselves falling victim to it:

Romans 7:15-25
For
that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do
I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that
which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is
good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin
that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is,
in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is
present with me; but how to perform that which is good
I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but
the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do
that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin
that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I
would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight
in the law of God after the inward man: But I see
another law in my members, warring against the law of
my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of
sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am!
who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I
thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with
the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the
flesh the law of sin. |
This
is NOT an excuse to commit the sin ..
The
Bible is clear that this is UNACCEPTABLE.
But
... God knows the TRUTH of the
Original Sin.
God knew that immorality would become the rule instead
of the exception, and He taught that those souls from Sodom
and Gomorrah will have a better chance on Judgment Day than
those who refuse to accept the TRUTH.
That is why He sacrificed His Son to offer us
GRACE.
Sooooooo, now you know
what the Bible says and you have the CHOICE to decide what
the Bible actually shares and the CHOICE to love and obey
the one who died for you as to get you eternal life in
Heaven.
