ANGELS AMONG US
CHRISTIANITY OASIS
has provided you with this Angels among us study. What are Angels and are
there Angels among us?
Most agree that there are Angels among us but
who are these Angels among us and why are these Angels among us?
The Bible mentions the word Angel almost 300 times. Some people even
believe that they have Guardian Angels among us. Let us seek and find the TRUTH
of whether there are Angels among us together, shall we?
When you think of angels, do you think of someone with a
sword and shield, wielding the power of God?
Do you think of someone in a white flowing gown with a
pure face surrounded by cascading angel hair and a glowing light around
them?
Maybe you think of plump little babies with feathery
wings and little halos fluttering around the expanse of heaven and earth?
No matter how you picture angels in your mind, one thing
is for certain:
ANGELS ARE REAL
There are many different kinds of angels, and in this
study, we’re going to find out more about these spiritual beings and how
even though you may not know it, they’re an important part of our lives.
The Bible mentions the word
Angel
almost 300
times.
ANGELS IN WHITE
White is the color that
represents innocence and purity. Whenever the clothing of an angel is
mentioned in the Bible, it is white.
|
MARK 16:5
And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the
right side, clothed in a long
white
garment; and they were affrighted. |
|
JOHN 20:12
And seeth two angels in
white
sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the
body of Jesus had lain. |
|
ACTS 1:10
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up,
behold, two men stood by them in
white
apparel; |
|
REVELATION
3:4-5
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their
garments; and they shall walk with me in
white:
for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed
in
white
raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,
but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His Angels. |
|
REVELATION 3:18
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest
be rich; and white
raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy
nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that
thou mayest see. |
|
REVELATION 6:11
And white
robes were given unto every one of them;
and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little
season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that
should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. |
|
REVELATION 7:9
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could
number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood
before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with
white
robes, and palms in their hands; |
|
REVELATION
7:13-14
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are
arrayed in white
robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And
he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and
have washed their robes, and made them
white
in the blood of the Lamb.
|
|
REVELATION
15:6
And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues,
clothed in pure and
white linen, and having their
breasts girded with golden girdles.
|
|
REVELATION
19:14
And the armies which were in Heaven followed Him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen,
white
and clean.
|
Let’s investigate the different kinds of
angels.
SERAPHIM
One of the 6-winged
angels of the highest rank believed in ancient
Judaism to guard God’s throne with sacred ardor (loyalty).
In the Revelation of Jesus to John, the four seraphim that guard the
throne are described as beasts, although one has the face of a man. In
other words . . . Some angels can be animals! So if you’ve ever wondered
if there are animals in Heaven, the answer is, yes! John also describes
them as having six wings
and they praise God, so that means that these angel
animals can talk too!
|
REVELATION 4:8
And the four beasts had each of them
six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not
day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and
is, and is to come
|
|
ISAIAH 6:2
Above it stood the seraphims: each
one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he
covered his feet, and with twain he did fly
|
CHERUBIM
1. A celestial
being
2. A member of the second order of angels, often
represented as a winged child
3. A person, esp. a child, with a sweet, chubby face
4. A biblical figure often represented as a being with
large wings, a human head and an animal body and regarded as a guardian of
a sacred place>
Cherubim guard the Garden of Eden to protect
the tree of life.
|
GENESIS 3:24
So He drove out the man; and
he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword
which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life
|
|
EZEKIEL,
CHAPTER 10
Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of
the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the
appearance of the likeness of a Throne. And He spake unto the man clothed
with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and
fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter
them over the city. And he went in in my sight. Now the cherubims stood on
the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled
the inner court. Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and
stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the
cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory. And
the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as
the voice of the Almighty God when He speaketh. And it came to pass, that
when He had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from
between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood
beside the wheels. And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between
the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took
thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who
took it, and went out. And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a
man's hand under their wings. And when I looked, behold the four wheels by
the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another
cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl
stone. And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a
wheel had been in the midst of a wheel. When they went, they went upon
their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither
the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went. And their
whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the
wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had.
As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel. And
every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the
second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and
the fourth the face of an eagle. And the cherubims were lifted up. This is
the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar. And when the
cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up
their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not
from beside them. When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted
up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature
was in them. Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of
the house, and stood over the cherubims. And the cherubims lifted up their
wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the
wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east
gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them
above. This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by
the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims. Every one
had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the
hands of a man was under their wings. And the likeness of their faces was
the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and
themselves: they went every one straight forward
|
1 CHRONICLES 28:18
mentions the chariot of the cherubims, and
2 SAMUEL 22:11
and
PSALMS 18:10 say that the Lord
rode upon a cherub, referring to the Mercy seat made of gold, where the
presence of God abided in the Tabernacle,
EXODUS 25:18. The Mercy Seat was an earthly example of God’s
Heavenly chariot of cherubims that Ezekiel describes in his vision. In
this vision, there are cherubim with four wings, four faces (of a cherub,
a man, a lion, and an eagle), and likeness of the hands of a man under
their wings. They have wheels beneath them, and fire under the wheels. Now
that folks, is transportation!
ARCHANGEL
A chief or principal angel; one of the nine orders of
celestial attendants of God
|
JUDE
1:9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed
about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation,
but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
|
|
1 THESSALONIANS 4:16
For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the Archangel, and with the Trump of God: and the dead in Christ
shall rise first:

Many
people believe that when they die, they will become an angel. Others
believe in Angels, but they don’t believe that people can become
Angels ... But what is the TRUTH?
|
REVELATION 22:8-9
John, the writer of the book of Revelation is
speaking to an Angel
and he falls at the feet of this angel. The angel told John not to bow to
him, because the Angel was a FELLOW SERVANT
and OF THY BRETHREN the Prophets and OF THEM,
which keep the sayings of this book. This means that the Angel, that John
was speaking to ... Was once a human.
AWESOME HUH?
|
In
the resurrection, we become as
Angels.
|
MATTHEW 22:30
For in the resurrection they neither marry,
nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven
|
REVELATION 7:13-14
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are
these which are arrayed in white robes and whence came they? And I said
unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came
out of Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white
in the blood of the Lamb.
|
In
other words ... Those that are Raptured will become as
angels !!!
How does the dictionary define
angels?
(From Webster's Dictionary)
1. a celestial
attendant of God; one of a class of spiritual beings who, in medieval
angelology, were the lowest of the nine
celestial orders (seraphim, cherubim,
thrones, dominations, virtues, powers, principalities, archangels, and
angels).
2. a conventional representation of such a being, in
human form, with wings.
3. a messenger, esp. of God.
4. a person having qualities generally attributed to an
angel, as beauty, purity, or kindliness.
5. an attendant or guardian spirit.
6. a deceased person whose soul is regarded as having
been accepted into Heaven.
SO, AS YOU CAN SEE ...
EVEN WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY BELIEVES THAT PEOPLE
CAN BECOME ANGELS
WHEN THEY DIE.
Now look at what the Apostle Paul says:
|
1
CORINTHIANS 15:39-40,44
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men,
another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There
are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the
celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. It is sown
a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body,
and there is a spiritual body.

STARS ARE REALLY
THE CELESTIAL HOMES OF ANGELS!
Jesus made this clear to John in the Revelation.
When most people see a falling star, they think it’s a
really cool thing and they make a wish, when in fact, it’s an angel, who
has traded their home in heaven for something ungodly.
There are many more hints in the Bible that suggest that
angels are stars.
|
JOB 38:4-7
Where wast thou when I laid the
foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding . . . When
the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
|
Stars can sing!
|
PSALMS 148:3
Praise ye Him, sun and moon: praise
Him, all ye stars of light.
|
Stars can praise God!
|
DANIEL 12:3
And they that be wise shall shine as
the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness
as the stars for ever and ever.
|
Stars are righteous!
|
MATTHEW 2:1-2
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem
of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from
the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews?
for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.
|
|
2 PETER 1:19
We have also a more sure word of
prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that
shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in
your hearts:
|
|
REVELATION 8:12
And the fourth angel sounded, and
the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and
the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened,
and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
|
|
REVELATION 9:1
And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a
star fall
from heaven unto the earth: and to
him
was given the key of the bottomless pit.
|
|
REVELATION 12:1
And there appeared a great wonder in
heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and
upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
|
These twelve stars were the twelve children of Israel.
|
REVELATION 12:4
And his tail drew the third part of
the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood
before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child
as soon as it was born.
|
|
REVELATION 22:16
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the
churches. I am
the root and the offspring of David, and
the
bright and morning star.
|
Some people even believe that they have Guardian Angels
...
But is it TRUTH?
|
MATTHEW 18:10
Jesus said, (concerning God's children ... Namely
YOU)
Be careful that you never harm one of these
little ones, because I tell you, that in Heaven THEIR
ANGELS
always look upon the face of my Heavenly Father.
|
Referring to Angels, Paul said:
|
HEBREWS 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who
shall be heirs of Salvation?
|
This confirms that each of us HAS an assigned Angel
which watches over us.
Whether you acknowledge their presence ... or not, they
are THERE.
Isn't that just AWESOME?
On top of that, we have the
HOLY SPIRIT,
given to us as a comforter.
Are we, as Christians spoiled or what? So whenever you
feel alone,
ponder on this TRUTH. God loves His children
and He gave us spiritual companions to protect and
comfort us
because we're so precious to Him. Make sure you commune
with the Holy Spirit often and say “hi” to your Heavenly assigned Angel
once and again. This is what king David wrote:
|
PSALMS 91:11-12
For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy
ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a
stone.
|
ARE THERE ANGELS AMONG US?
Most agree that there are Angels among us. Though there
are always those who cannot believe in the unseen and that includes the
angels among us.
Read what the Apostle Paul wrote about angels:
|
HEBREWS 13:2
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:
for thereby some have entertained angels unawares
|
ALWAYS BE KIND TO STRANGERS BECAUSE THEY COULD BE
ANGELS AMONG US
GOOD ANGELS AND BAD ANGELS?
That’s right, there are. Probably the two most commonly
known good angels are Michael and Gabriel.
Michael, the archangel who appeared to Daniel and is
mentioned in the book of Jude in the Bible, accompanied Enoch through
visions from the Lord, and is named as one of the holy angels, a Watcher
of heaven, who presiding over human virtue, commands the nations. He is
set over the best part of mankind and over chaos.
Gabriel, also one of the Watchers of Heaven, is one of
the holy angels who is over Paradise and the serpents and the Cherubim. In
the Bible, he also appeared to Daniel, also Zacharias and the virgin Mary,
and was seen by Enoch as well.
THE ANGEL SATAN
Maybe you’ve heard before that satan was really an angel
once. Actually, he still is, but he’s a bad angel. We don’t commonly think
of angels as being “bad” but some have fallen, and their choices have
affected each and every one of us.
The Lord describes the angel satan through the words of the prophet
Ezekiel saying that he had been in Eden, the garden of God. He was the
anointed cherub that guarded the mountain of God. He was perfect in his
ways from the day he was created until iniquity was found in him, but he
became proud because of his beauty and corrupted because of his
brightness. So God said He would destroy him for all to see and devour
him, that he would be never more.
|
EZEKIEL 28:12-19
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the
king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up
the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the
garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz,
and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the
emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and
of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou
art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast
upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst
of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that
thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of
thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou
hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of
God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the
stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast
corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the
ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast
defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the
iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the
midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon
the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know
thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror,
and never shalt thou be any more.
|
John also tells of satan, that he has
angels that he recruited from the Sons of God. (There is spiritual warfare
among spirits too. The devil is not only trying to get humans to turn away
from God, but angels as well.) He stands before God, day and night,
accusing believers for their weaknesses. These bad angels will be banned
from Heaven.
REVELATION 12:9-17
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth,
and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in
heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God,
and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down,
which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by
the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved
not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that
dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the
devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that
he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto
the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And
to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly
into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time,
and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent
cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might
cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman,
and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the
dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and
went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments
of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The book of Job includes some interesting inferences to
angels, saying that they come to present themselves before the Lord.
Perhaps our guardian angels give God reports about how we’re doing. In
this story, satan stands in line with them and when God asks him where
he’s been, satan answers, From going to and fro in the earth, and from
walking up and down in it. We must always be aware of this. Satan’s
jealousy causes him to bet God, that Job will curse Him, if his blessings
are taken away. Satan loses the bet.
|
JOB 1:6-12
Now there was a day when the sons of God
came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among
them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan
answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from
walking up and down in it. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou
considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a
perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then
Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not
thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he
hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his
substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and
touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD
said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon
himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of
the LORD
