Friend Passed Away........ need to replace the bad memories

Postby Roberta » Thu Oct 08, 2009 9:15 pm

My neighbor was 80 years old. She passed away Tuesday (10/06/2009) of a heart attack. She was my spiritual mentor. She was a wonderful woman of God. I was closer to her than probably any other person in my life. I thought of her as a mother in many good ways. I loved her so much.

I'm having a hard time getting over her passing. Part of my problem is that the last memories I have are when I walked into her living room and saw her laying there on the floor with the paramedics working on her. That's not the woman I knew. The woman I knew was always active, always loving, always serving. I can't get passed the bad memories of those last few minutes.

Please pray for her family, including her husband, her five children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her friends.

Please pray that God will get the bad memories out of my mind and help me to remember all the wonderful things about her.

Thank you Tam and pineapple. It's just so hard. I don't think I've had more than a five or ten minute break from crying since Tuesday morning.

I know we're not supposed to cry when saints go Home, but it's so hard having those be my last memories.

hi I too had a problem with my moms passing, I could not sleep what helped me through was just to know if I stay true to god that I would join her someday, and the fact that she was no longer in pain she knew God and was happy to know she would see him. that taught brought me peace.

Thank you all. The wake was last night. I feel a little more at peace after seeing her peacefully resting. Much better than when I saw them take her away.

Hi Roberta, Im so glad to see you!

sis, im praying for you and her family as well. During this time, draw close to Jesus, knowing that her soul is set free now. She is where we want to be. This old world is so hard on the flesh and body, but her spirit was already back with the Lord and her soul at peace in those last moments of her life here...that peace that surpasses all understanding. When you think of her, hold on to that peace.

Im praying for you, too, sis.

Rest in Him.

In Jesus,
love momo *hug*

Thank you. The funeral was very nice. A huge turn-out. She was well-loved.
