Noah's Kids Story About the Ham Curse Explained

Happy to have you with us today at Noah's vineyard. Glad to see you back after the trip on the ark. Oh, you didn't know that Noah had a vineyard? Yes, you know when you're over 600 years old you don't get around as well as you used to and a garden is the perfect form of relaxation. Yep, that's right Noah was over 600 years old by now. He lived to be 950 years old. Mankind used to get to live much longer back then. God later reduced that age limit because of man's choices.

Genesis 6:3

And the LORD said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Back to Noah's vineyard ... Did ya know that Noah was the first mentioned to partake of wine in the Bible? Yep he sure was and he made wine with the grapes from his vineyard. It clearly says that he got drunk so don't let anyone fool ya when they say that the wine mentioned in the Bible was not fermented so they didn't get drunk because ... It most certainly was, and they most certainly did.

Now, keep in mind, that the three sons of Noah are busy raising their families to begin repopulating the earth, and they're the only people that exist on the earth, so you can imagine that they must have lived near each other for many years. Their names by the way were Shem Ham and Japheth.

Shem Ham and Japheth Prophecy
Noah's Kids Story About the Ham Curse Concern

Noah's Kids Story Warning ... One day Noah drank the wine that he made from his vineyard. He was drunk and fell asleep naked and was uncovered inside his tent. Ham saw Noah, and having no regard of his dad's dignity, he went and told his two brothers outside in mockery. But, Shem and Japheth wanted to protect Noah, so they took a garment and held it between them on their shoulders. Then they walked backwards so they couldn't see and they covered Noah. When Noah awoke he knew what Ham had done.

Well, Ham had a son named Canaan and Noah cursed Canaan and said he would be less than a servant to his brothers because of what his dad Ham had done. Then he blessed Shem and said that Canaan would serve him and Japheth as well.

So, let us make sure we understand the Noah's Kids Story Truth. Since the only humans at that time to repopulate the Earth were Noah's kids, Shem Ham and Japheth ... Therefore, all humans are the descendants of Noah's kids. The three sons of Noah and their offspring went their different ways as time passed. How one discerns this to be truth is with research. One example:

Genesis 10:2

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

Shem Ham and Japheth Bloodline
Noah's Kids Story About the Ham Curse Intensifies

The names of the sons of each son of Noah are the answer you seek if wish to do further research on the descendants of Noah's kids. On ancient maps, which you can attain at a library or online, reveal that certain areas were named after these sons. Kinda like they laid claim as they migrated and named the place after themselves or their children as generations passed and their family group expanded.

If one follows the bloodline of each son of Noah and seeks the name of each child in that bloodline and uses a map, you can find the migration pattern.

Shem's bloodline stayed in the Middle East region. Israelites are from the family of Shem as are the Iranians and other enemies of Israel which you will soon learn the reason why they hate Israel as you continue following the bread crumbs on our Daily Bread path.

Japheth's bloodline migrated to Russia and Europe. Americans were from Europe until they came to America and fought for Independence. Therefore most early Americans are/were of the family tree of Japheth. But, with immigration, the American population has people from every branch of the Noah's Kids tree.

Ham's bloodline who supposedly had the horrible curse from Noah, migrated to the African continent. Buckle up, because this is where the story takes a twist.

Shem Ham and Japheth Warning
Noah's Kids Story About the Ham Curse Danger

Did you know that the Noah's Kids Story on Ham's Curse is where the African slavery concept came from? See, Ham and his descendants ended up moving away as time passed and they ended up in Africa. So, some people over the years interpreted the Bible as saying that anyone from the bloodline of Ham would be the slave to all the generations of the bloodline of Japheth and Shem forever. Some radical groups have used this Noah's Kids Story and in particular the Ham Curse ideology to justify some terrible actions against African people as being the will of God.

There are major problems with this Ham Curse theory.

First: It was not God, but Noah who made the curse and Noah's curse.

Second: Even if God did honor Noah's curse, Noah did not say that every descendant of Ham would be a slave for all eternity because of what Ham had done. He just said his son Canaan would be:

Genesis 9:24-27

24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

Third: Even God's curses on a family bloodline only went to the fourth generation, in most cases.

Deuteronomy 5:9

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

Numbers 14:18

The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

Exodus 34:7

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Shem Ham and Japheth Bible Study Summary
Noah's Kids Story About the Ham Curse Truth

In short ... Some narrow minded souls fail to comprehend that this was a short term curse on one man in the Old Testament and with the Blood of Jesus comes a New Covenant between God and all of mankind which nullifies all past covenants and punishments thereof and all can be set free from past sin and curses when they choose Jesus. So, if any "Christian" believes that the descendants of Ham are still cursed, best ponder and pray upon this Truth.

Now, if you just can't swallow that Noah's Kids Story Truth because of the way you were raised or you are just a racist, try this one on for size. All are free from past sin if they believe in Jesus. Truth is Truth.

Now, what does all this Ham's Curse stuff mean? Beware of those who use Scripture for their own gain. Some devastating things happened in the United States and other places because of people misinterpreting what they read in the Bible and not what was truly written and intended to mean. If Abel's blood cried out for justice for the wrong that was done to him, can you imagine those who were wrongly enslaved, beaten and even killed, not to mention what happened to their families?

And that's the story of Noah's vineyard and the Noah's Kids Story, and what happened at the very beginning of mankind's new beginning. The Ham Curse being applied to any soul now, is nonsense. Stay tuned for more eyebrow lifting adventures in our next Daily Bread story.
