Welcome Friend!

I am truly pleased that you chose to step out of the shadows and into the light of Truth.

I would like to ask you to come with me to a relaxing place where we can just talk.

Victim of Rape Recovery Peace
Effective Rape Treatment

Let's take a walk along this peaceful shoreline.

You know how good we are at pretending and using our imagination as an escape.

Come on ... It will be interesting, if nothing else. What have you got to lose except for the time you would have spent in spiritual anguish.

Let's take a spiritual trip to the ocean, together ... What a magnificent creation of the Lord. Waves are slow, gentle, making an occasional lapping sound as they ride up the shore line. Birds dive at the fish that are coming to the surface. The breeze is damp, carrying with it the aroma of the sea.

Let me unfold this blanket just enough so the two of us can sit. It may not appear to be the most beautiful day that we could imagine with the clouded gray skies, but I hear it will get much nicer as time passes.

So let's have hope that it will get better.

A seagull squawks from above as it soars overhead searching for any food that we may have left unattended as we sit sharing thoughts.

Then a sudden noise gives us a fright.

A bit jumpy aren't we?

Ever wonder why?

Could it be that we are unsure of our surroundings? Maybe it is just because it is a new place? Maybe we have not yet decided if we are safe yet?

Looking to the left, we notice that there's a dock. Our eyes follow the large round poles under the dock. We wonder what else is over there. We would love to walk over and investigate like we once would have.

We always loved adventure.

But alas ... It's not worth the risk of running into someone.

What keeps us from it?

The answer is ... Fear.

The same fear we deal with every day of our lives as we watch others wander here and yonder as we sit within our Spiritual cage, fearing the same ole thing ...

What if?

Let's talk about this fear for a bit. The fear that is keeping you from exploring. Having been hurt before, you don't want to ever allow that to happen again. So you stay safe. Yet your spirit is hindered and not being allowed to do what it was created to do.

Which is to Be Free!

For this fear keeps you from it.

This same fear hinders what the Lord can do through you.

It keeps you from stepping forward out of the safety of where you are and where you have been ... Into the unknown.

That unknown is just what you are seeking.

To be more, to do more, to reach more, to accomplish more.

How many exciting adventures have you passed up because fear of the unknown kept you back?

What is the Source of This Fear?

The Bible is clear ... Fear does not come from the Lord:

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of Love, and of a sound mind.

Fear is from our enemy, the devil. It's a tool that he likes to use against us.

When in fear, we are held captive by that very thing that has us afraid. Keeping you from being all you can be.

What is it that you are longing to do that you've not allowed yourself to do, because of fear?

Sing ... Dance ... Learn an instrument ... Learn to paint ... Get that job you are longing for ... Share your talent or gift where others will see it.

Or how about ... Fall in and stay in love?

Oh wait !!!

No, we can not take that chance can we?

Too many "What ifs."

So ... You stay safe in your safe place. Where ever it may be. Your room, your home, your routine. Where you know you have control. Where no one can take control of you again. Where you won't be hurt again. Just the thought of stepping out of that safe place can bring forth feelings of panic.

What's out there? What will happen? Who will see me? Who will I see?

Will I be hurt again?

What if I told you there is a better place to hide?

Somewhere you could trust to protect you and keep you from harm.

Proverbs 1:33

Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

You have a part in this though.

You have to choose to trust Him.

Psalms 56:3-4

3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise His word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Are you willing to trust again?

The Rape Treatment For Victims of Rape

How to overcome this fear that has bound you and kept your from being the most you can be?

Build your relationship with Jesus Christ and He will, through the Holy Spirit, guide you in Truth.

John 16:13

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth ...

Proverbs 1:33

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

1 John 4:16-18

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

My friend, put all your fears away, reach for the strength of God, through Jesus Christ, at one with the Holy Spirit, to obliterate fear in your life, with the wisdom of Truth.

Be of Good Courage

Psalms 31:24

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

And God will deliver you from your fears!

Psalms 34:4

I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Just remember:

Psalms 56:3

What time I am afraid, I will Trust in thee.

The answer to settling your fears is Trust.

2 Samuel 22:3

The God of my rock; in Him will I trust: He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

We must choose to trust God and walk by Faith ...

Jeremy Camp - Walk By Faith

Will I believe you when you say
Your hand will guide my every way
Will I receive the words You say
Every moment of every day

Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me

Help me to RID my endless fears
You've been so faithful for all my years
With the one breath You make me new
Your grace covers all I do

yeah, yeah , yeah, yeah, ya

well I will walk by faith
even when I cannot see
because this broken road
prepares your will for me

Well I'm broken- but I still see Your face
Well You've spoken- pouring Your words of grace

Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
Well because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me
(Repeat)
Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
Well because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me

Hallelujah, hallelujah

I will walk by faith, I will walk by faith,
I will walk by faith
I will walk by faith, I will walk by faith,
I will walk by faith
I will walk by faith, I will walk by faith,
I will walk by faith
I will walk by faith
I will walk, I will walk
Faith
I will walk, I will walk by faith

Deep inside, you long to be who you were before you were hurt. More outgoing, more adventurous. Friendlier. You smiled more back then too didn't ya?

Do you remember the sound of your laughter?

Oh look over there ...

See the children playing in the sand along the shore line. Their childish laughter carries over the sound of the waves. See the brave little girl wading up to her knees. Squealing with glee when the waves splash her, getting the hem of her dress wet. Do you remember the last time you possessed such joy? Don't you long to have that back?

It is possible to be that joyful again? Is overcoming rape possible?

With Trust in the Lord ... It is.

Matthew 19:26

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:23-24

23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

It's true. It can happen. It can be for you.

If you are ready to work to accomplish it ... You will have to let go of some things that are burdening you. Things that are holding you back from being the person you were before you were hurt.

If you are willing to give it a try ... Then follow me to the next step.

What do you have to lose except for the darkness and despair?
