Bible Study from the beginning:
We pick up where Jesus and His Apostles are now leaving the coasts of Judea beyond the river Jordan and headed to Jerusalem. Jesus took the Apostles aside on the way and said to them we are going to Jerusalem and the Son of man will be turned over to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn Him to death and turn Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and spit on and they will crucify Him and on the third day, He will rise again. Still the Apostles had not done the math and put the pieces of the puzzle together just yet so they still did not understand Jesus, though He had repeated this prophecy many times how Jesus Paid the Price of Sin prophecy was abundant.
Right about that time the Mother of James and John came to Jesus to ask a question. She wanted Jesus to promise that her two sons would sit on the right and left of Jesus in His glory. Jesus looked at her sons and answered them instead of the Mother. He said ... You do not know what you are asking. (Isn't He awesome, He knew they had their Mom come ask for them, so He directed His response to them.) Are you able to drink of the cup that I will drink of and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They answered, we are able. But they understood not what Jesus meant. Jesus said ... You will surely drink of my cup and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right and on my left is not for me to give but it will be given to those for who it is prepared of my Father.

When the other 10 Apostles heard about this little conversation, they were upset with the two brothers. But, Jesus called them all together and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles have power over them and the ones who are great exercise authority over the others. But, not so with you. Whoever is great among you will be your servant. Even as the Son Of man didn't come to be ministered to but to minister and to give His life, as a ransom, for many.
This is what Jesus meant when He answered back to the two brothers a little earlier when He said that they would indeed drink of His cup and be baptized in the way He was baptized because they too would experience some of what He did, minister to others, preach the Gospel, be baptized with the Holy Spirit and ... Die for the cause. Yet still ... They did not understand. They saw things from a 'man's world' point of view. As they neared Jericho, a blind man named Bar-Timaeus sat by the side of the highway begging. (In Israel, "Bar meant Son of and the name of the Dad followed the word "Bar.") When the blind man heard the crowd, he asked why the people were gathering and people told him that Jesus of Nazareth was coming. The man cried out "Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me."
Jesus commanded that the man be brought to Him. The blind man threw down his coat and came to Jesus. Then Jesus asked, what is it that you would have me do for you? The blind man responded, Lord that I may receive my sight. Jesus said unto him, Go your way, your Faith has made you whole. Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus along the way.

Is it not ironic that the Apostles are blinded to the Truth that Jesus is trying to share with them about His pending death and resurrection, even though they bore witness to many miracles even the blind having his sight restored? It is sad that we oft times lose sight of the Truth though it be right in front of us. Zacchaeus
Then Jesus entered and was passing through Jericho and there was a rich man named Zacchaeus, who was the leader of all the tax collectors. He heard that Jesus was passing through, and wanted to see who He was, but because he was a short man, he couldn't see over the crowd. So, Zacchaeus ran and climbed up in a sycamore tree so he could see Him.
Can you imagine that? Back to the story of when and how Jesus Paid the Price of Sin ... When Jesus passed that way, He looked up in the tree and said, Zacchaeus, hurry down, today I'm going to your house. Zacchaeus hurried down and welcomed Him gladly and when the people heard of it, they all murmured that Jesus was going to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.
Zacchaeus stood and said, Lord, half of my things I give to the poor, and if I've taken anything from anyone unfairly, I repay him four times its worth. Jesus said to him, Today, salvation has come to this house, as he is also a son of Abraham, because the Son of man has come to find and to save those who are lost.
Time for a Jesus Ransom for Many Bible Verse Parable ... As the people listened, Jesus told them this parable because He was near to Jerusalem, and they thought that the Kingdom of God was going to immediately appear:
14 For the Kingdom of Heaven is as a man travelling into a
far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his
goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and
to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and
straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and
traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained
other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the
earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh,
and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and
brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me
five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and
faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will
make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said,
Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two
other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful
servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee
ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and
said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou
hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the
earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and
slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and
gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the
exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own
with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto
him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he
shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away
even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer
darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
What do you think this Jesus Ransom for Many Bible Verse parable means and how does it relate to how Jesus Paid the Price of Sin? Let's take a closer look at it. Jesus is the nobleman, and the far country is earth. The people in the new kingdom that He went to receive, but didn't want Him to be King over them are those who don't believe in Jesus. He gives us, His servants each different gifts, according to our abilities. It's up to us, until He returns, to use those gifts to serve Him. Perhaps a talent is a lost soul. Perhaps during your lifetime, there are people who you were assigned to save, or works that you were assigned to do that would, in turn, save souls.
Those who use the gifts that they have been blessed with are allowed to enter into the joy of the Lord, which we can imagine to be heaven. If you take your gifts and bury them, hide them, do nothing with them ... Your gifts will be taken away. This makes it much easier to understand what it means, those who have will be given more and those who have not, even the little they have will be taken away.
31 When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all
the Holy Angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the Throne of His
glory:
32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He
shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his
sheep from the goats:
33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the
goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you
from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited
me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when
saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or
naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto
thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I
say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of
these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the
devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye
clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw
we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or
in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall He answer them, saying, Verily I say unto
you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did
it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.
Jesus ransom for many was required to bring forth Salvation to those who would believe in Jesus. But, always remember that Jesus chose to do so. Jesus paid the price of sin for us to have a second chance.
