The description of Heaven and hell in the Bible are something many souls ponder on from time to time. In Revelation, Chapter 4 ... Heaven is described as surpassing all of the absolutely awesome thoughts one can possess in their imagination concerning this Heavenly Home. In fact, Jesus told His Apostles that they could not imagine what God has in store for His believers.

Do you know what a "realm" is? A realm is a spiritual place or experience. You can't reach out and grasp it with your hand, though while you're there, you may believe it's tangible.
Please keep in mind, as we travel along in our Heaven and Hell Bible study, that all realms are not spiritual in a godly sense.
Let me give you some examples of different realms.
- A dream is a realm.
- A story is a realm. You can go into the realm of a story while reading a book or watching a movie, or even by listening to a person relate it to you over a cup of coffee.
- Even the world wide web is a realm of sorts. Yes, it runs on a frequency or via satellite, but when you log on, you feel like your going to a certain place that's not really a physical location.
- A daydream is a realm.
- Déjà vu is a realm ... Although some scientists would like you to think that it's some kind of optical malfunction where one eye sees something an instant before the other eye, making something seem like you've seen it or been there before. But anyone who has ever experienced this phenomenon knows that it's more than that. It's a realm. You've seen millions of faces and places that you've seen before with both eyes at the same time, and you don't get that serendipitous feeling that frequently accompanies déjà vu, and that spiritual urge to remember why it seems familiar to you.
- Hypnotism is a realm.
- Visions are a realm.
- Prophecy is a realm.
- Speaking in tongues is a realm.
- Music can take you into a realm.
- Fear is a realm.
- Others can be in the same realm as you at the same time.
- True love is a realm that two people share.
As you can see, there are all kinds of realms. They're not make believe just because they're not physical places. They really do exist. They're not pretend, just because by faith you believe in them, yet there is no physical evidence of where exactly they are.
Now, since we are researching the differences between Heaven and hell Bible verses, let's talk about Heaven and Hell. One of these two realms is where your soul will ultimately end up.
There is but one question you may ask yourself concerning life and the afterlife.
Reality vs. Realm
Which one is which?
We will see in this Heaven and Hell Bible study that in our logical carnal minds, we tend to think that life on earth is the real thing, and the spiritual life is ... Hard to put your finger on. What if, in fact, it turns out to be the other way around. Actually, the true Christian belief is based on that very hope and belief of the Biblical Heaven. This earthly, fleshly life is the temporary one. How many times have you boasted; It's just a test - Lay up your treasures in Heaven - You can't take it with you, and things of this nature?
What is Between Heaven and Hell Bible?
We spout brave words like this when we want to impress our own selves, our friends, our relatives and even God, but do we really live those beliefs? If we want our destination realm to be Heaven ... We should. One more interesting thing about the word realm before we go on in this Heaven and Hell in the Bible verse study. In the Bible, different authors use this word in place of the word Kingdom. So, what can we expect once we get to the realm (Kingdom) of Heaven? Well, think of the most blissful place you can imagine and Isaiah and Paul both say, not even close!
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him.
1 Corinthians 2:9
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

Heaven and Hell Bible Verses Parables
We want to share in our Heaven and Hell Bible study, that Jesus gives us several parables of what it's "like" in the realm of Heaven, but you must keep in mind, He had to use human words for us and we can't fully understand a spiritual realm, explained in human words. It's kind of like explaining what love is to someone who's never been in love. Heaven is more than a place that is here or there. Like being in love, it envelops your whole being, and as anyone who has truly been in Love knows ... It's more than words can say, and that's why we're taught that we can't even imagine what Heaven is like.
As you read the words of Jesus, within this Heaven and Hell Bible study, you will begin to understand that this Kingdom of Heaven is not so much a specific place but rather . . . A state of mind and heart.
You can find the Lord's similitude of what Heaven is like in the Gospel according to Matthew, Chapter 13:
- Verse 3 - The parable of the sower.
- Verse 24 - The parable of the field and the tares.
- Verse 31 - The parable of the mustard seed.
- Verse 33 - The parable of the leaven.
- Verse 44 - The parable of the treasure in the field.
- Verse 45 - The parable of the merchantman.
- Verse 47 - The parable of the net, cast into the sea.
Also in Matthew, Chapter 20:
- Verse 1 - The parable of the workers.
And also in Matthew, Chapter 22:
- Verse 2 - The parable of the wedding feast.

In the Gospel according to John, Jesus tells us this about Heaven:
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not
so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again [on the Day of the Lord], and receive [invite, welcome, enjoin]
you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go [Heaven] ye know [understand], and the
way [following in His footsteps] ye know [understand].
Where are Heaven and Hell Bible Study
Now, let's sojourn through the Biblical Heaven and Hell Bible verses (both good and bad) with concerning Heaven and Hell in the Bible danger passages so that you have a better idea of the Kingdom (realm) of Heaven versus the other path.
Let's look at the opposite realm called Hell, where the devil tries to lead souls to, because of his immense jealousy of God. This quest of the devil's is called Spiritual Warfare.
Scripture on Heaven and Hell in the Bible point out very clearly that just as one can't imagine what God has prepared for those who love Him ... One also can't imagine the unending torment that awaits in Hell for the unbeliever's soul. Don't be deceived that once a soul goes to Hell, that there's an end to the pain and agony that awaits there. Death is also a realm and in the end, death is cast into the lake of fire along with Hell, and "lives" forever there in never ending torture. Don't misinterpret the realm of death to be the "end" of anything, except your physical, fleshly life on earth. A soul still lives on in Hell and continues to experience it's pain forever.
Heaven and Hell Bible study time out ... It is important to understand that Hell is not the same place as the Lake of fire. Like it is with Heaven NOT being the same place as Paradise or Abraham's Bosom. However, Abraham's Bosom and Paradise are one and the same.
At the beginning of this Heaven and Hell Bible verse study, we learned that a soul may take one of two paths when the human body dies. This chart shows the path of these souls.

Have you ever been in so much pain that you've gnashed your teeth? Jesus describes Hell this way, several times in the Biblical Heaven and Hell Bible verses.
In our search for answers ... We see again that the Biblical Heaven and Hell Bible verses shared by many prophets and even Kings give us excellent insight. In the book of Proverbs, Solomon's references to Hell are preventive only. In other words, they are admonitions.

Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

What is Between Heaven and Hell Bible Verses
There's always enough room for more souls in Hell, don't be deceived by the devil's tricks that make people believe that they can be satisfied with fleshly desires. And, make no mistake, there are no "get out of Hell free" cards in the devil's game. It's not a game.
As you partake of this Heaven and Hell in the Bible study, you may also wonder why Jesus went to Abraham's Bosom and preached to the spirits in Hell if there's no chance of ever leaving once you're there.
We understand from our the Biblical Heaven and Hell in the Bible investigation that the answer is, up until that time they didn't have the truth of Jesus in their lifetime on earth, so they were given the chance to hear and believe the Gospel, as we have. They have died the first death, but God's final judgment still awaits. There are some descriptions in the Bible that give us an idea as to what Hell is like. The fire of hell is God's anger and it can destroy the entire earth. The lowest hell refers to the depths of hell, it isn't to suggest that there is more than one hell.
For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
Hell is full of sorrow.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
Hell is deep.
7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find
out the Almighty unto perfection?
8 It is as high as Heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than
hell; what canst thou know?
Hell is immeasurable, the mean man is brought down there, the mighty and the proud are humbled there.
14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her
mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and
their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty
man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
In hell, vanity and all of its ceremony are dead, and the proud (pompous) are covered in worms.
Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
Graves are set in the sides of the pit.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Ezekiel 32:23
Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.
Perhaps this Biblical Heaven and Hell Bible verses voyage may bring up a question in your mind about the "bottomless" pit. Remember that Hell is a realm, so there is no physical form to it. The term "bottomless" therefore, is an indication of it's ongoing and endless pain, and the vastness of the agony, darkness, and torment that are there.
Just as when believers die, their mortal bodies become celestial bodies, and the unbelievers body is changed as well. From this description in Ezekiel, it may be that those bodies are skeletal in nature because he says their iniquities shall be upon their bones.
And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
Jonah describes being in the belly of a whale as a comparison to hell.
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Souls are alive in hell.
Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick [alive] into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
God's mercy can save (prevent) you from hell.
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
Pain, trouble, and sorrow are characteristics of hell.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
God knows who is there.
If I ascend up into Heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
Biblical Heaven And Hell Bible Warning
Between Heaven and Hell Bible Choice
David also prophesied:
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Peter speaks of this as well:
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Acts 2:31
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, neither His flesh did see corruption.
Although Jesus did speak to the spirits in prison (in Hell), He did not Himself experience death. The word "see" in this case, means "experience" ... Jesus said:
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
We share this in our Heaven and Hell Bible study but of course this is a figure of speech that Jesus is using. There aren't eyeballs and hands and ears running around Hell while the rest of people's bodies are in Abraham's Bosom. In other words, it would be better to take some pretty drastic measures than to end up in Hell.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates [kingdom] of hell shall not prevail against it.

[In hell] Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mark 9:43, 44, 45,
... into the fire that never shall be quenched:
If you have read the study on Abraham's Bosom, you know Jesus' story of the soul of Lazarus in Abraham's Bosom and the rich man's soul that went to hell:
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in
purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was
laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from
the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was
carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died,
and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and
seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on
me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water,
and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy
lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil
things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a
great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you
cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou
wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto
them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the
prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto
them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the
prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the
dead.
Heaven and Hell Bible Warning ... Hell has chains of darkness where souls are reserved for judgment. In this particular reference, Peter is speaking of the fallen angels who are in hell:
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

The Book of Revelation also has some very interesting things in it about Hell.
I [Jesus] am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
The 4th horseman of the Apocalypse represents hell and death.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Death and hell deliver up the dead souls in them for judgment (see the chart above) and death and hell are thrown into the lake of fire.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and
death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they
were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
