Not sure if this post belongs here or not ... could just as easily belong in emotional management or somewhere else; but I was thinking music primarily so seemed best

ok now where was I? *dunno*

Oh ........ when your emotions are flying left, right, centre and in every other direction as well; what are some of the songs that calm you down and quiet your spirit?

Hmmmmmmmm calms me? Music...

Well, truth be told when I need to calm, I play my guitar

It is funny really.. when I listen to music, Louder is better and Anything with a good Drum Beat or rockin Guitar is my first choice but when I play, it is always quieter, calmer stuff.

I tend to also lean a lil ol school
Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, anything with a good sax base

It is not so much that it calms me in the sense that the music is softer or quieting.... it more so allows me to return focus to how Awesome God really is.

Lani, I'd love to hear you playing the guitar! that would be calming in itself even if you were playing loudly

sometimes it is the loud music that is calming ........ it can reach our moods and minister somehow where something softer can't ............... guess it depends on what is going on hmm

again lots of songs I don't know from both of you

but lots I want to get to know!

Music is my life...i sing when I am happy and when i am sad.

Dessert song and Ocean will part by hillsongs is my song when i am in my deepest sadness...i love all song of hillsongs it lifted my soul. *band*

Thats easy !!!! When i am riding the rollercoaster high and low waves of ADHD..

either i turn to instrumental music like Mantovani er Enya or John Tesh which then i correct my path *help*

AND

I turn to the One who brings me the greatest sense of peace and calm and focuses my heart and soul *JesusSign*

and His great love act to and for all mankind *Cross*

Here are just a few of the great praises that help focus me on my Lord and where my heart and soul should be always.

Either version of "It is well with my soul " *Pray*

(and if you don't know its origin, check it out for it is a great testimony to our Lord. )

or

Sometimes I use loud and joyous praise reminding me that our God is greater who inspired Chris Tomlin

or Kim Walker and Jesus Culture to remind us

How He loves us so

and how He inspires us to go to the

Rooftops

and sing *Clap*

So I stand before You God *Pray*

I lift my voice because

Wow such amazing music shared here!

What music calms me?

Meditative music, any kinds. I love Jewish music also, love to listen to what our Lord grew up listening to. Also soaking worship music and songs, reflecting on Who He is and who i am in Him. This music brings me back to the most important heart matters deeps within my soul.

No particular artists, love them all that glorify Him and resonate Him in my soul and being.

Job! LOVE LOVE LOVE the Native American music, so calming and you can hear the words through the instruments. Just beautiful
