Day 4 of MCFC study

Postby mlg » Fri Feb 15, 2008 11:33 pm

Wow, I loved this step. It was so enjoyable. I was thinking on the peer pressure issue. You know, I guess that's why I don't have a lot of close friends. Since I've become to know Jesus, I want to spend more time doing for HIM, and most of those my age still want to party. I kinda prefer to just be alone, than to deal with the pressure of the world. I hardly ever watch tv. In fact tonight I was just sitting in my recliner in my living room, rocking, no tv, no radio, no sound just quiet. This I prefer, cuz there is no pressure just me and my Jesus.

Now on relationships. I've been married, I've been single. I do agree that a soul mate is brought to us by Jesus, but when I married my ex, I didn't know Jesus, so I wasn't listening to HIM, to guide my decision. Of course hindsight is twenty twenty, wish I knew the Lord then like I do now.

Now on faith. The spiritual warfare was interesting. I have had to fight spiritual warfare many times. The closer I am to the Lord, the more I have to fight. I can tell when I'm walking closer to HIM, as Satan is constantly plaguing me. I have this book called Battlefield of the Mind. This is such a true statement, cuz that's where the warfare takes place. But as it states also, faith only can be strengthened during these battles. The harder you fight using faith, the stronger your spirit grows with HIM in you. This is why I always run to the Lord, as soon as something starts going not so right. I don't turn from HIM, but I go directly to HIM. The sooner I take it to the Lord, the sooner my faith is strengthened and the more I can endure.

The interesting thing about doing this step, was the fact that my 12 year old, sat beside me and read it with me. She had so many things to comment on, and such wisdom at such a young age. She even asked me about coming to this sight and reading the steps herself. Have we ever had a 12 year old do these steps? Can she I guess would be the question? I would say yes, as she is reading them with me already. I know Jeremiah was but a child when he was called, so I believe that Jesus can call any age to work for HIM. I guess I just stand back in awe, as I see her Faith growing everyday, and I'm thinking Lord you are doing so much in her already.

Alright so off to step 5 tomorrow. I'm behind my partner by a day, but I am persevering just as she is through all of these.

Hi mlg,
If your book is by Neil Anderson, I have the same book! In fact, I have probably 4 or 5 of his books. They are all so awesome.
Living with my dad, I don't get very much quiet time, unless he is in bed for the night, or taking a nap. When he's up, the tv has to be on and loud. (That's just one reason I like to stay home alone when he goes on vacation.)
That is so cool about your 12-yr-old wanting to come to the site, and also that she's been reading the steps with you. You're doing a great job raising her. Keep it up!

Love ya.
