Adam was the first man that God created. He put Adam in the Garden of Eden to take care of it and live there. God thought that Adam should have a helper, so He put Adam to sleep, took a rib from Adam's side, and made a woman with it. Her name was Eve. God told Adam and Eve they could eat fruit from any of the trees in the garden, except the one in the middle of the garden, and if they touched it, they would die. Satan, disguised as a serpent, talked Eve into eating the fruit from the tree that God warned about. Then Eve gave some to Adam, and he ate. This was the first sin of man, against God. It is called original sin, and because the first human did it, all humans sin (except Jesus). Man will have to work hard all his life, because Adam disobeyed God
