Is God Calling You To Serve Him?
Congratulations on discovering the My Brother's Keeper path.
This My Brother's Keeper Bible meaning
program was designed specifically for our Christian teen members and
guests who want to know the My Brother's Keeper Bible meaning and
perhaps answer the My Brother's Keeper Bible calling.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
Now before you allow the enemy of our souls (satan) to talk you into
believing that you could in no way be special, and the thought
of being called by God may seem a little far fetched, you just
may want to know ... That is exactly who God has
called according to His Word!
1 Corinthians 1:26-28
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to
confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world
to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are
despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to
nought things that are:
You may even be known by others and even yourself as weird or strange
...
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an Holy
nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the
praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His
marvellous light;
So, if you have any doubt that God would call you because you do not
feel like some superhero ... Best think again. God is the hero and He
acts through us and He gets the glory.
You may be a little curious about the name of this My Brother's
Keeper Bible program. The My Brother's Keeper Bible program derived
from a story in the book of Genesis about Cain and Abel where Cain
asked God ...
Am I My Brother's Keeper?
Let me tell you what happened real quick:
Cain and Abel were brothers ... The first two sons of Adam and Eve.
Abel was a shepherd and Cain was a farmer. Now there was a custom
where the family would bring gifts to God to show their love for Him.
Cain offered to God a gift of fruit that he had gathered from the
ground. Abel offered God a gift of one of the firstborn of his flock.
It was probably Abel's very favorite lamb. God was obviously more
pleased with Abel's gift than Cain's, because Abel's gift was given
from the heart and it seems that Cain gave his out of obligation.
Question: If you were to receive a lamb and a gift of fruit, which
would you think the greater gift?
Now ... This made Cain very angry probably out of jealousy. So, while
the two brothers were out in the field one day, Cain killed his
brother Abel. A little later the Lord called out to Cain ... The Lord
asked Cain, Where is Abel your brother? (Of course God knew the
answer.) Cain answered, I don't know, Am I my brother's keeper?
Cain was asking God if God felt that Cain was responsible for looking
after and taking care of his brother.
Here is the actual Bible Scripture. Let's check it out:
Genesis 4:1-10
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare
Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a
keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain
brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock
and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his
offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.
And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell [he became sad and angry].
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why
is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if
thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be
his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to
pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his
brother, and slew him.
9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother?
And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy
brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
When Cain asked God, "Am I my brother's keeper?" ... The answer was
Yes ... This Truth still applies to us even today. We are
to look out for and take care of those in our family. Not only our
parents, brothers and sisters, but we are to be our Brother's Keeper
for our Spiritual brothers and sisters as well. Check out what Jesus
said:
Matthew 12:50
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven, the
same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
These are the spiritual brothers and sisters that you are the 'keeper' of.
As Christians, we all belong to God's family. The Bible makes it
clear that we are all brothers and sisters. We are responsible for
taking care of one another and protecting, warning, guiding, and
keeping each other safe from the countless evils of the world, both
visible and invisible, which the devil has waiting to ambush us, each
and every day of our lives.
You are your brother's keeper, and there are a lot of things
that you'll learn in this program that will help you to protect and
defend your own Faith, the Faith of your spiritual brothers and
sisters, and quite possibly even with unbelievers who are part of
God's family but they are lost and confused and God wants them to
return to our Christian family.
Am I my brother's keeper?
We have provided you with an awesome COOL My Brother's Keeper Bible
meaning program that will bring forth the spiritual gifts that God
has given those who He calls to serve Him by the Holy Spirit as to be
able to better serve Him.
If you are serious about finding out if you are being called at this
time and are ready to begin this awesome program, make sure you put
everything out of your mind. You must be totally free from any
problems, concerns or anything else that may affect your spirit. You
will have to find a time during your day that you will not be
interrupted. Turn on some Christian music, get your favorite beverage
and snack if you want them. Just get comfortable in mind, body and
spirit.
This is going to be a fun-tastic adventure.
This program is not created to judge others, but rather encourage
them to answer the call of God. Again ... It will merely determine if
you have the characteristics of one called to serve God. Then the
following COOL Steps will help you answer the call.
Not every body is called to represent God the same way. This
does not mean that they are not Christians. Let me explain
that real quick ... At school there are various sports teams that go
out and represent the school. Just because you are not on a
team does not mean you are not part of the school. It also
does not mean that you will not be on a team at some point and time.
Just like a school team, Christianity is a team and those
called in the Bible and those called today are those God chose to
represent Him.
You may not feel called to be in sports, or cheer-leading or the
debate team or in the band or any of the various programs yet which
means that you may not have been called to represent the
school at this time ... The same is true of this program.
But ... If you were called to represent God and you feel it ...
It is time to do something about it!
