Herod

Herod was the Roman king of Judæa when Jesus was born. When wise men from the east came looking for the baby Jesus to worship Him, Herod was very jealous because they said the King of the Jews was born. Herod tried to trick the wise men into telling him where the baby Jesus was, so that he could kill Him. But God warned the wise men and they never returned to tell Herod. Herod ordered that all the children, two years old and younger, to be killed in Bethlehem, to make sure that the baby Jesus was destroyed, but an angel told Joseph in a dream, to take Mary and baby Jesus and hide in Egypt until Herod died.
