King David

King David was God's first chosen king of Israel. That means that God chose him to be king. He was called the apple of God's eye, which means that God liked him a lot. He killed a giant named Goliath with a sling and a stone. He hit Goliath in the forehead with the stone, and after Goliath fell, David cut off Goliath's head with his own sword. King David was a mighty man of war. He wanted to build a house for God, but because of how much blood was shed during all the wars there were when David was king, God said that David’s son should build His house instead. David wrote many songs to God, called Psalms. 150 of them are in the Bible. He also played the harp. King David loved the Lord. He was a good man.
