Nimrod

Nimrod was a mighty hunter. At the time, the people on earth all spoke the same language and lived close together. Nimrod convinced people to start building a tower that would reach to heaven and a city so that they could become famous for it. Nimrod climbed up on the tower and shot an arrow toward God in heaven, showing off and thinking that he could reach Him and people would remember him. These things made God angry. God saw that with one language, people were planning evil things against Him. God destroyed the tower, and scattered all the people into different places. He gave them different languages so they could no longer understand one another and plan evil things. The name of the place was called Babel.
