This is from notes
taken from a prophetic class I took, while the
notes were written by me, the class was not given by me.
Christians hear 4 different types of Voices...
1. Your own Spirit
2. The Holy Spirit
In The Old
testament, Prophets had Revelation " Received " ... Meaning the only way
they messed up or got it wrong was by having a bad heart. They Heard From
God directly unless they were evil.. IN which case they were stoned
often.. In the old testament
they weren't " born again " ... In The New testament a Prophet's
revelation is "perceived" ... Meaning we hear God through the Holy Spirit
that lives within us, interacting with our own spirit ... See 1 Thess.
Verse 20) Do not
treat prophecies with contempt.
Verse 21) Test everything. Hold on to the good.
1 Corin. 14 (We NOW judge the word given and not the Prophet himself. )
How to judge Prophecy. Does in bring Conviction? Does it bear witness with
the Holy Spirit? Is it Scriptural? What do other trusted Prophets
think?---The differences between things. The Gift of prophecy is the gift
of the Spirit. For Edification, Exhortation and Comfort ...[bible]1
Corinthians 14:3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their
strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
The Prophet as a
person is CHRIST'S gift, The person himself is the gift. The role is not to
Prophesy mainly, it's to equip the people, with a prophets reward, "to have
eyes to see and ears to hear ". They direct and correct because they are
in the Government of God.. They are
RARE..---Prophecy & Prophets are two different callings...1 Corin. 12 -
Talks about the GIFT of prophecy, its a gift of the Holy Spirit... The
Gift is the word given or spoken..
Verse 1) Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be
Verse 10) to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy.
Eph. 4 - Talks about The Prophet Himself... The Person, is Christ's gift.
The gift IS the person...
7) But to
each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
Verse 11) It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets,
some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
Verse 12) to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body
of Christ may be built up
4 Levels of prophesy
1. The Culture - " even a donkey can prophesy "
2. Gift of - for edification, exhortation and comfort.
3. A prophet who prophesies well. NOT the office, but one who is trusted.
4. The office of the prophet, the person, the gift of Christ.
When you see
something negative in someone else's life, PROPHESY THE ANSWER.
You will speak grace into their lives, to effect a change...
