Jail is the loneliest place I
have ever been. There are no friends or family there. Only people
you hang with for protection. The gang bangers with the gang
bangers, the whites with the whites, the blacks with the blacks,
etc, etc....
But, make no mistake; the people in your group will
turn on you fast if you do or say something to "disrespect" the
group. So, you are virtually very alone there. But, then one day, if
someone takes the time to come in and introduce you to the best
friend you will ever have, you will never be alone again. That's why
I go to the jail and share Jesus with the people there.
The first thing I always do
when I get there is find out where people are at with Jesus. If
anyone doesn't know Him or has slipped away from Him, I give them
the opportunity to make things right with Him. Some choose to do so,
and some don't. Sometimes I spend the time I have there in Bible
study with them, sometimes in prayer, mostly in both., and there is
always a time of answering questions someone may have about
Christianity or the Bible.
Sometimes I just listen, cause
that's what they need that day. But, one thing I always do is share
what Jesus did for me when I was alone and in jail. My testimony is
on this site for those who want to read it. I hope you know Jesus as
your Lord and Savior. If you don't, just ask him to forgive you of
all your sins and to come into your life and change you.
He will. I promise! |
