Christian Imagination in the Bible Fear

Biblical Imagination Bible Danger

Where does our imagination come from, can we control our imagination, can we better use our imagination and why were we given imagination?

Proverbs 12:20

Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

Zechariah 8:17

And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

Psalm 2:1

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

So this negative and "evil" type of "imagining" is vain or selfish, huh?

So, do you think that our Imagination itself is selfish and vain?

Hmmmmmmm, Christian Imagination Bible Research time ... Let us look within the Biblical Imagination Bible verses Bible for the Truth. Let's us begin by answering this question? What is our imagination and how can we control it?

Imagination is defined as ...

The formation of mental images of something that is not perceived as real and is not present to the senses.

So, our imagination is a Spiritual realm within us that our physical senses (or the physical senses of others) cannot perceive or discern. Here is a little Christian imagination example ... When we were kids, many had "imaginary" friends and most parents thought it was cute until the child was expected to grow out of it and then the child was told to lose this imaginary friend.

Did any of you have imaginary friends? This imaginary friend connection is very similar to the connection with the Holy Spirit, is it not? He too is invisible and one can have a very Real-ationship with Him. What if the imaginary friends were/are Guardian Angels and/or the Holy Spirit?

Imagination is thoughts that bring forth Spiritual and even Physical reactions. Our Lord explained this "think it and it will be" procedure this way ...

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Is not Jesus saying that whatever we imagine and believe will come to pass?

Mark 11:23

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Whatsoever is in his or her imagination.

Now here is the kicker ... This Christian imagination in the Bible procedure works both ways. Both good and evil imaginations. So, in the end ... What one uses the technique of imagination for, is essential.

But, the child within (inner man) has been encaged and is unable to imagine as we once did ... Usually due to carnal hang ups such as past experiences, physical limitations, etc. which begins to dampen one's hope. What other carnal hang ups might have dampened the imagination?

Here are some Imagination Bible examples ... Santa Clause, Easter bunnies and Tooth fairies did not help us maintain our Faith in the unseen either when the ones we trusted and believed told us of their existence and then at a very important time in our young lives we discover that these "imaginary" people were a lie. This had us, as children, encage our imagination somewhat.

Biblical Imagination Bible fact ... As a child, your imagination allowed your soul to enter other "realms". How many books are written due to the "imagination" of a child or the child within? Does it not make the story come to life? Now what if you used this same technique for a story that was true? Such as ... Jesus.

Would it not come to life? Are we not told that we must bring forth this childlike Faith within to enter the Realm of Heaven? Christian Imagination is a much needed ingredient in our Christian walk. We must become as a child again and use this imagination as it is a key aspect of faith and the way to enter the Spiritual Realm.

Matthew 18:3

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

You gotta get IN the Spirit and then you will increase the connection. Be better tuned in.

Galatians 5:16 and 25

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit ...
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

John 4:24

God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Let's take a quick Christian imagination field trip ... It is within this same Spiritual realm that one finds Spiritual gifts such as Perception and Discernment.

Here is the definition of the word discern.

To detect with the senses ... To perceive, recognize, or comprehend with the mind.

Now, let's look at the definition of the word perceive.

To become aware of by way of the senses. Detection by instinct rather than by physical evidence.

Now, let's look back at the definition of imagination.

The formation of mental images of something that is not perceived as real and is not present to the senses:

Does it not appear that Perception and Discernment are Spiritual gifts and are in the same Spiritual realm within us as our imagination?

Biblical Imagination Discernment
Christian Imagination Perception

Let's look at what the Bible shares about being able to Spiritually perceive and discern matters. We will begin with Spiritual Perception.

Luke 8:46

And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

Jesus was able to Spiritually discern that virtue had been taken from Him, but did not feel the touch with physical senses.

Mark 2:8

And immediately when Jesus perceived in His Spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, He said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Jesus may not have heard them with His physical senses but perceived their thoughts with His Spirit. Now, let us look at Spiritual discernment which is a gift from God:

1 Corinthians 12:10

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

1 Corinthians 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

How about a Christian imagination in the Bible trivia question? How does one obtain and maintain this Spiritual gift of discernment and the perception abilities thereof?

Hebrews 5:14

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

God uses this discernment to know your thoughts;

Hebrews 4:12

For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Here is Biblical Imagination Bible Wisdom ... Deeming your "imagination" as being no more than from selfish orvain is a mistake. The absolutely awe inspiring Christian imagination is a Spiritual realm within you where you are able to bring things to pass, both good and bad imaginations.
