Make intercession for the Souls of the faithful departed.

Be merciful,

Spare them, O Lord.

Be merciful,

Hear them, O Lord.

From all evil,

O Lord, deliver them.

From Thy wrath,

O Lord, deliver them.

From the flame of fire, etc.

From the region of the shadow of death,

Through Thine Immaculate Conception,

Through Thy most Sacred Wounds,

Through Thy most Precious Blood,

Through Thine ignominious death, by which

Thou hast destroyed our death,

We sinners,

We beseech Thee, hear us.

O Thou Who didst absolve the sinner woman and hear the prayer of the good thief,

We beseech Thee, hear us.

That thou wouldst release our deceased parents, relations and benefactors

from the bonds of their sins and the punishment for them, etc.

That Thou wouldst hasten the day of visiting Thy faithful detained in the receptacles

of sorrow, and wouldst transport them to the city of eternal peace,

That Thou wouldst shorten the time of expiation for their sins and graciously

admit them into the holy sanctuary, into which no unclean thing can enter,

That through the prayers and alms of Thy Church, and especially by the inestimable

Sacrifice of Thy Holy Altar, Thou wouldst receive them into the tabernacle of rest

and crown their longing hopes with everlasting fruition,

Son of God,

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,

Grant them eternal rest.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,

Grant them eternal rest.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,

Grant them eternal rest.

Christ, hear us.

Christ, graciously hear us.

Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, etc.

V. And lead us not into temptation,

R. But deliver us from all evil. Amen.

V. From the gates of Hell,

R. Deliver their Souls, O Lord.

V. May they rest in peace.

R. Amen.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer ,

R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray.

O God, Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the Souls of Thy

departed servants the remission of all their sins, that through our pious

supplications they may obtain the pardon which they have always desired.

Through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

R. Amen.

O God, the Giver of pardon and the Lover of the salvation of men, we beg Thy clemency on behalf of our brethren, kinsfolk and benefactors who have departed this life, that by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of all the Saints, Thou wouldst receive them into the joys of Thine everlasting kingdom. Through Christ Our Lord. R. Amen.

O God, to Whom it belongs always to have mercy and to spare, be favourably propitious to the Souls of Thy servants and grant them the remission of all their sins, that being delivered from the bonds of this mortal life, they may be admitted to life everlasting. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

R. Amen.

Novenas

The word Novena come from the word "novem" which means "nine." It is a prayer that is recited for nine consecutive days to achieve a particular purpose, or a special devotion, Favour or Grace. Novenas can be public or private.

Powerful Tip: Combine your particular Novena with the corresponded Litany, and recite them every day for nine days before the said feast day.

Novena to the Most Holy Trinity

O Eternal Father Who are in heaven where You do crown the merits of those who in this world serve you faithfully for the sake of the most pure love Your little daughter Theresa of the Child Jesus had for You so as all but to bind You to give her whatever she desires seeing that while on earth she always did Your will incline Your ears to the petitions which she offers up to You on my (our) behalf and hear too my (our) prayers by granting me (us) the grace I (we) ask.

Our Father….. Hail Mary…. Glory Be…  Eternal Son of God You Who have promised to reward the least service rendered to You in the person of our neighbour cast a glance of gentle love on Your little spouse Theresa of the Child Jesus who with such great zeal had ever at heart the salvation of souls, and for the sake of all she has done and suffered lend a willing ear to her wish of spending her heaven doing good upon earth and grant me (us) the grace I (we) plead for so earnestly from You.

Our Father…. Hail Mary….Glory be….. O Eternal Holy Spirit, Who did make perfect with so many graces the beloved soul of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus I (we) beseech You for the sake of the fidelity she showed

in ever corresponding with Your graces to incline Your ear to the prayers she offers to You on my (our) behalf and having before You her promise of letting fall from heaven a shower of roses mercifully grant me (us) the grace of which I (we) stand in such need.

Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory Be… Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus who during your short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity of love strong as death and of whole-hearted abandonment to God now that we rejoice in the reward of your virtues cast a glance of pity on me (us) as I (we) leave all things in your hands. Make my (our) troubles your own speak a word for me (us) to Our Lady Immaculate whose flower of special love you were to that Queen of Heaven who smiled on you at the dawn of life.

Beg her as Queen of the Heart of Jesus to obtain for me (us) by her powerful intercession the grace I (we) yearn for so ardently at this moment and that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me (us) during life, defend me (us) at the hour of death, and lead me (us) straight to a happy eternity.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus O clement, O loving O sweet Virgin Mary.

Without Your grace,

and strength confess

and glorify Your name

and let the fire of charity burn bright

and other hearts inflame.

Amen.

delight in Your divine presence in my soul

which You have made Your temple through sanctifying grace.

I pray, O Holy Spirit,

that I may be not doubting;

that I be spared the pain of being alone

without trust or hope in Christ;

that my prayer may always be "My Lord and my God!"

I pray that I may acquire a sense of retreat

to prayer and recollection at various times in my daily life;

for prayer is the bond that joins us to Christ.

I pray that I may be aware of the physical needs of the poor

and that I may share what I can with them

in the charitable works of the Church.

I pray, O Holy Spirit,

that You will in Your mercy

grant me the favour I have sought in this novena...

State your request here...

Amen.

Novena of The 24 Glory Be To The Father

The Twenty-four "Glory be to the Father's" novena can be said at any time. However, the ninth to the seventeenth of the month is particularly recommended, for on those days the petitioner joins in prayer with all those making the novena.

The "Glory be to the Father" praising the Holy Trinity is said twenty-four times each of the nine days, in thanksgiving for all the blessings and favors given to Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus during the twenty-four years of her life. In addition, this, or a similar prayer may be used:

Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost,

I thank Thee for all the blessings and favours

Thou hast showered upon the soul of Thy servant Theresa of the Child Jesus,

during the twenty-four years she spent here on earth,

and in consideration of the merits of this Thy most beloved Saint,

I beseech Thee to grant me this favour,

if it is in accordance with Thy most Holy Will

and is not an obstacle to my salvation."

After this Prayer, follow the twenty-four "Glory Be's,"

between each of which may be included this short prayer:

"Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus,

pray for us."

The Prayer "Glory Be To The Father..."

Glory be to the Father,

and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning,

is now, and ever shall be,

world without end.

Amen.
