Moses

Moses was chosen by God to lead God's chosen people out of slavery in Egypt. When Moses was a baby, his mother hid him because the Pharaoh in Egypt ordered that all the Hebrew baby boys were to be killed. Pharaoh did that because he was afraid that the Hebrews would grow to become more and mightier than the Egyptians and take over Egypt. When Moses got too big to hide anymore, his mother put him in a basket and told his sister to float the basket in the Nile River. Pharaoh's daughter found the baby Moses, and raised him as her own son.

One might describe Moses, metaphorically, as the pen of the Word of God in the first five books of the Bible. Moses not only wrote what the Lord commanded, but served as the leader of His people, Israel. Moses, inspired by the Holy Spirit explains to us the creation of the world and mankind, the Great Flood, the replenishing of the population afterward, and the division into different nations. After that, Moses explains what he himself was eye witness to ... The bondage of Israel and their freedom wrought by the hand of God, their plight through the wilderness from Egypt to the Promised Land, their receiving of God's law and the tabernacle, and all the significant events that happened along the way. Moses prophesied of Jesus:

Genesis 49:10

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Deuteronomy 18:18

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

And Jesus Himself confirmed this prophecy:

John 5:46

For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

Now that we (are so fortunate to) have the New Testament to help us in clarifying the Old Testament (of which God chose Moses to present to His people), we can understand how we reconcile to God and bond with Him by our Mediator and Savior ... Our Jesus Christ.

There is a force out there that is attempting to overtake us all; it is Satan. There is another force that is protecting us from him; it is the Holy Spirit. It is a battle for souls. This battle is called Spiritual Warfare, and like it or not, you are right in the middle of it.

How to Prepare for Spiritual Warfare
