Feed My Sheep
Let us begin, shall we? The origins of words "Feed My Sheep" is a
Spiritually motivated command that Jesus gave to Peter three times.
One after the other ...
John 21:15-17
15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?
He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith
unto him, Feed my lambs.
16 He saith
to him again the second time, Simon, son of
Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou
knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him,
Feed my sheep.
17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was
grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And
he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I
love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Here is a lil Feed My Sheep Bible verse trivia ... Many wonder why
Jesus said feed my sheep three times. Even Peter seemed a little
“grieved” that He said it thrice. Hmmmmmmm “Thrice” ...
Now where have I heard that word thrice before?
Matthew 26:75
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Here is the Feed My Sheep Bible verse trivia answer ... Perhaps it
was a gentle reminder to Peter that Peter did deny Jesus thrice and
to remember these words. Peter did run off when the wolves came and
this request made three times may have been a way by which to say
that Peter was to stay and protect the sheep this time.
At either rate, Jesus said feed My sheep thrice to reveal the
importance of the words ... Feed My sheep. But again, what does
feed My sheep mean? Let us look within the Bible for the Truth within
the Jesus Said Feed My Sheep Bible verse ...
Does “feed my sheep” mean that Peter and the Apostles were
responsible for making sure the sheep in the pasture had food?
Matthew 6:11
Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
When Jesus said Feed My Sheep, it meant for them to provide these sheep with was the Word of God. Here is a Feed My Sheep Bible question ... Who are the sheep that are to be fed this Word of God? The sheep are the children of God.
When one feels called to serve God and begins to feed God’s sheep,
one can oft times become overzealous and blinded by pride. This
occurred with the Pharisees and it is written that they ended up
making it too hard for God’s children to enter Heaven by the heavy
demands that they placed on them, meanwhile they, themselves were
secretly living in sin.
Matthew 23:13
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the
Kingdom of Heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither
suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
We are all sinners. It may be that your sin
is different from the sins of another that you encounter but
how is it that you can judge their sin and think for one
second that God is not going to judge you for yours?
Matthew 7:1-2
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to
you again.
If and when you feel called to Feed His sheep ... In sharing Truth
with these precious lost souls and troubled Christians, one should
always keep in mind that these are not your children, they belong to
God.
Feed My Sheep Bible Warning
Jesus Said Feed My Sheep Bible Verse Danger
It is not your place to discipline or verbally abuse His children. You are merely a hired servant required to watch over His children. Kinda like a babysitter who has had His children placed in your care. Beware the child crying to the Father of your verbal abuse and the Father hiring another in your place.
God is very aware that these lost sheep have not been shown the way to Truth as you may have been but that does not give
you the right to scold them in some vain attempt to uplift
yourself.
It is Truth that God does get angry and expresses His anger
thru His prophets but I tell you a Truth ... It had better
be Him expressing this anger thru you to His child and not
just you ... Lest the cries of His child enter into the mind
and Heart of their Father. A bear beholding someone harming
it’s cubs will be deemed gentle, in comparison.
Here is Feed My Sheep Bible wisdom ... When one that has been called finds that
one of His children is in need of medicine, one should not
try and force it down their throat with words of anger. You
would not do so to your own child if they were taken by a
plague or sickness. You would try and find the best tasting,
yet effective medicine that you could. You may even play lil
airplane games saying “Zooooooom, Zooooooom here comes the
airplane,” as you gently slide the spoon of medicine into the
child’s mouth. This way, the child willingly takes the
medicine.
God is well aware of the “handicaps” of His lost children
who have been kidnapped by the enemy and enticed with the
worldly trends to stay there. God is also well aware that
you are or were one of those souls as well. It may be that
He has shown you the way to Truth, but that does not give
you the right to portray yourself as being better than the
child that is still caught up in the worldly web.
John 8:7
He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Feed My Sheep Bible Pitfall
Jesus Said Feed My Sheep Bible Verse Command
It is very sad that these individuals, who consider themselves to be
better than another of God’s children (even though, they know in
their hearts that they were also forgiven of their sins of the past,
and received God’s Grace and still sin) and that these people would
find it necessary to judge another, in some vain attempt to appear to
uplift themselves.
It was some self proclaimed Religious leaders, back in Jesus’ day,
that were constantly following Jesus around quoting law. They became
so afraid of losing their high places, that they devised a plan and
had Jesus crucified ... They used laws to do it. They claimed they
were doing a God service.
God Service huh? That’s a hoot. Here is some more of that Feed My
Sheep Bible verse wisdom ... God does not seek those who would
condemn His children. God does not seek those who would keep them
encaged by fear and doubt by making the path to Heaven appear
unattainable. God does not seek those who would make His children
walk away from the Faith feeling inadequate and unworthy of the Grace
that He has provided those souls at such a dear cost.
Another obvious Feed My Sheep Bible verse tidbit of Truth ... God
seeks those who are sensitive to the needs of His children and asks
... Feed My Sheep. God seeks those few
understanding shepherds that know that we all fall short and we all
fall down when Jesus said Feed My Sheep.
Those who know that the Christian Walk is one very tough path and that we all walk it
together and that fellowship is one of the best tools we have to help
one another when Jesus said Feed My Sheep. God seeks caring and
loving souls that seek only to help the lost souls get home when
Jesus said Feed My Sheep. Those that seek
only to bring in His sheep. Choose to hear what the Holy
Spirit has just spoken to you.
The feed my sheep Bible verse Scriptures are very clear. Feed my sheep is a
command by Jesus to tend to the spiritual needs of His children’s
souls. When you hear or read the words ... Jesus said feed my sheep, is it Jesus asking you to feed His sheep?
