4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from Heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to Heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of Heaven.

Now, let's see if we understand the Two Witnesses in Revelation Bible passages properly ... These particular Biblical two witnesses are chosen by God to be on Earth during a 3 and a half year time period during the End Times.

They are symbolically known as the two olive trees and the two candle sticks.

The Two Witnesses Bible Plot Thickens
Who are the Two Witnesses Today?

Before we proceed with our Biblical Two Witnesses in Revelation adventure, it is very important to learn more of this phrase the two olive trees and the two candle sticks that stand before God. So, let's take a quick ... Who Are The Two Witnesses In Revelation field trip into the past before we look into the future.

In Zechariah, it tells us of an Angel talking with Zechariah.

Zechariah, Chapter 4

4 And the Angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4 So I answered and spake to the Angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
5 Then the Angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the Word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
8 Moreover the Word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

Who Were and Who are the Two Witnesses?

Be sure you stay focused during this aspect to discover the answer to; Who are the Two Witnesses in Revelation. This Angel showed John a vision. The vision was of a Candlestick of gold, with the bowl upon the top of it, with seven lamps and seven pipes. It had two olive trees on either side of it. Zechariah asked the Angel what the two olive trees stood for ... What the symbols represented.

The Angel responded in Verse 14, These are the two anointed ones that stand before the Lord.

So, it is apparent that God has two spirits that He places in humans, as He did with Joshua and Zerubbabel, in the book of Zechariah. God places these two spirits into humans to fulfill His will. This procedure of God is done through the Two Witnesses.

Back to the Two Witnesses in the Book of Revelation ... If anyone tries to hurt these Two Witnesses, that person must die in the way they tried to hurt the Two Witnesses. These Two Witnesses have the power to keep it from raining for 3 and a half years.

Who Are the Two Witnesses Bible Point of Interest ... Elijah was given the same power from God:

1 Kings 17:1

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Which makes many believe that one of the Two Witnesses is Elijah. (This is that Spiritual Discernment I was speaking of.)

But, think about what Jesus said ... He said that John the Baptist was Elijah:

Matthew 11:11-14

11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias [Elijah], which was for to come.

Who are the Two Witnesses Clues

This means that John the Baptist had the Spirit of Elijah, because we know that John the Baptist was born of Elisabeth. So, John the Baptist had the same spirit of Elijah that one of the two olive trees (Two Witnesses) will be given by God.

The Two Witnesses also have the power to turn water into blood and to cast plagues. Many say ... Moses did the same thing when dealing with Pharaoh, so one must be Moses. Again, it is God's power. It is two spirits that stand before the Lord that are placed in humans, by God.

Now that we know the answer to ... Who are the Two Witnesses in Revelation, we will now look into when these Two Witnesses Bible entities begin and are completed with their three and a half year ministry. We know find that Antichrist will kill them afterward. People dance in the streets because they are so glad that these Two Witnesses will not be able to "torment" them any longer by their preaching about Jesus. Their dead bodies lie in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 and a half days.

However ... After the three and a half days are over, God puts life into them and many hear a voice say ... Come up here and they rise to Heaven right in front of the eyes of many. Then comes a great earthquake and a tenth of the city falls. Seven thousand of those watching die and the rest are afraid and praise God.

The Two Witnesses Bible Story
Who are the Two Witnesses Going To Be?

As you can imagine after reading along in the Two Witnesses in Revelation Bible path that many get confused about this because of the way John wrote the book of Revelation ... You see, like many books you read, one must oft times do "flashbacks" as to be able to reveal specific acts of specific people during the same time period.

Chapters 11, 12 and 13 are all the same time period.

The last 3½ years of the End Times which is 42 months which is 1260 days (Jewish months are only 30 days).

1. The Two Witnesses Prophesy

Revelation 11:3

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and threescore days [1260 days], clothed in sackcloth.

2. The Woman in the Wilderness is Hidden

Revelation 12:6

And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days [1260 days].

3. The Antichrist Reign of Terror

Revelation 13:5

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months [1260 days].

All three events occur during the same time period. But how would John have told them all at the same time? So he wrote it as he did.

These events must occur during the Trumpets as one of the Trumpet lasts 5 months:

Revelation 9:5

And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

And the great tribulation only lasts 3 and a half years ... The Two Witnesses ministry was during the Trumpets. Further proof of this is just after the Two Witnesses rise to Heaven, the seventh Trumpet blows.

Revelation 11:14-15

14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
15 And the seventh Angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.

The Two Witnesses Bible Timing
Who are the Two Witnesses Killed By?

This Seventh Trumpet reveals that the The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever ... This means it is done.

Antichrist does not start his 3 and a half year reign of terror after this if the kingdoms of this world are become the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever, ... Two chapters earlier. So, Chapter 12 and 13 are merely a flashback to another event that happens during that same 3 and a half years.

This is proven again because Antichrist kills the Two Witnesses:

Revelation 11:7

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

If Antichrist is introduced in Chapter 13, how did he then kill the Biblical Two Witnesses in Chapter 11 ... Unless it is a flashback. Sooooooo ... The Two witnesses are killed by Antichrist just before the Seventh Trumpet which means their 3 and a half year ministry was before the Seventh Trumpet.
